LOVECH BULGARIA | Full Travel Guide for Historical Town България
This Bulgaria 4k video continues my Bulgaria trip on the road through Central Bulgaria, one of the best road trips in Eastern Europe and not on major tourist maps, where I will show you more historic sites in Eastern Europe. In this Bulgaria travel video, I am exploring Lovech, one of the small historic cities in Eastern Europe, that are not on major tourist maps, at least not yet. It's a beautiful small town located in central Bulgaria and is yet another amazing historic site in Southeastern Europe. This travel walking tour through this great place in Bulgaria takes us to all major site in Lovech Bulgaria. Stick around to the end for some amazing drone footage from this beautiful city and some really cool nature shots during a beautiful sunset in the city and ruins just above Lovech, and a tip for an amazing traditional Bulgarian Restaurant.
What I like in Bulgaria is that there is so much to see and explore everywhere. Lovech is located about 150 kilometers (93 miles) northeast from the capital city of Sofia. Lovech is a pretty small town with only about 36,000 residents. But it is actually one of the oldest towns in Bulgaria and a truly historic place in Eastern Europe. In 1187 the peace treaty between the Bulgarian Empire and the Byzantine Empire was signed in Lovech. This marked the beginning of the Second Bulgarian Empire and Lovech became an important trade centre and one of the most famous towns in Bulgaria.

National Palace of Culture - Sofia Bulgaria Congress Centre
Check our our travel blog website for more.
National Palace of Culture - Sofia Bulgaria Congress Centre:
The National Palace of Culture, abbreviated in Bulgarian as NDK,is the largest, multifunctional conference and exhibition centre in south-eastern Europe. It was opened in 1981 in celebration of Bulgaria's 1300th anniversary.
The centre was initiated at the suggestion of Lyudmila Zhivkova, daughter of the communist leader of the former People's Republic of Bulgaria Todor Zhivkov. The project was designed by a team of Bulgarian and foreign architects. The Palace is located in downtown Sofia and is surrounded by a park area.In July 2005, the National Palace of Culture was proclaimed the best congress centre in the world for the year by the International Organization of Congress Centres.
The conference centre is equipped to host a variety of events, including concerts, multilingual conferences, exhibitions, and shows. It has an area of 123,000 square meters on eight floors and three underground levels. The National Palace of Culture has 13 halls and 15,000 square meters of exhibition area, a trade centre and a car park. The main hall can seat over 3,000 people.
The Sofia International Film Festival takes place in the NDK.More than 10,000 tons of steel were used for the construction of the NDK. That is3,000 tons more than the Eiffel Tower.Mounted high on the facade, The National Palace of Culture features a stylized sun, executed in full compliance with the original traditions of Bulgarian National Revival woodcarving traditions.
The Memorial of the First Sofia Infantry Regiments-It's a powerful looking memorial, a beautifully sculpted lion, the symbol of Bulgaria, and an inscription in both Bulgarian and English outlining the reason the memorial is here.
•Piece of Berlin Wall-There are pieces of the Berlin Wall all around the world and you can even find some on eBay. The piece located in Sofia was donated by Berlin citizens in 2006 as a symbol of peace and unity. How to find it within the park? Face the main entrance of NDK, then turn left and head to the Fridtj of Nansen Str. and Vassil Levski Blvd. Right before you cross the street, look left and there is the monument!
2•The bridge of the lovers-The pedestrian bridge in the city center next to National palace of Culture has actually no name, but has always been known as The Bridge of the Lovers. That is because it was commonly used place for meetings of young people in love. This bridge easily becomes one of the tourist’s favorite spots when there is an open air gallery. Above the heavy traffic nice photographic exhibitions and sometimes festivals take place.
•Memorial monument to the victims of communism in Sofia-The memorial monument to the victims of communism in Bulgaria stands in the eastern part of the park around the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and is the largest of its kind in the country. The memorial monument is dedicated to the victims of the terrorist actions of the Communist Party before the 9th of September 1944 and the victims of the totalitarian regime in Bulgaria, which lasted from 1944 to 1989 and took the lives of people, which retained their religion, had a certain ethnicity or rebelled against the party, regardless of their age.
•The monument of Simeon Radev-Bulgarian public figure, writer, diplomat and publicist.

SOFIA BULGARIA WALK | CENTRAL MINERAL BATHS to VASIL LEVSKI MONUMENT | 4K |
A September morning walk in Sofia's center starting from the Central Mineral Baths, ending at Vasil Levski Monument.
The Central Baths are a landmark built in the early 20th century near the former Turkish bath and was used as the city's public baths until 1986 when the building was closed due to its bad condition and the possible collapse of the roof. It has been reconstructed and restored and now accommodates the Sofia Regional Historical Museum.
Passing by the ruins of Serdika Fortress ( constructed approximately around 3rd century AD) northwest wall we strolled along Iskar street, a cobblestone old road filled with cafes, local stores and residential buildings.
At the end of the walk we captured Vasil Levski Monument. Vasil Levski was a major revolutionary who put great efforts into liberating Bulgaria from the Ottoman Empire and is a national hero. The monument is a granite obelisk which commemorates the hanging of the Bulgarian hero. He was hanged by the Turks on February 18th 1873 on the same place where the obelisk now stands.
Hope you enjoy the footage.

Monument to Vasil Levski - Veliko Tarnovo
Vasil Levski (Bulgarian: Васил Левски, spelled in old Bulgarian orthography as Василъ Лѣвскій, pronounced [vɐˈsiɫ ˈlɛfski]), born Vasil Ivanov Kunchev (Васил Иванов Кунчев; 18 July 1837 – 18 February 1873), was a Bulgarian revolutionary who is, today, a national hero of Bulgaria. Dubbed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski theorized and strategized a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from Ottoman rule. Levski founded the Internal Revolutionary Organisation, and sought to foment a nationwide uprising through a network of secret regional committees.
Born in the Sub-Balkan town of Karlovo to middle-class parents, Levski became an Orthodox monk before emigrating to join the two Bulgarian Legions in Serbia and other Bulgarian revolutionary groups. Abroad, he acquired the nickname Levski (Lionlike). After working as a teacher in Bulgarian lands, he propagated his views and developed the concept of his Bulgaria-based revolutionary organization, an innovative idea that superseded the foreign-based detachment strategy of the past. In Romania, Levski helped institute the Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee, composed of Bulgarian expatriates. During his tours of Bulgaria, Levski established a wide network of insurrectionary committees. Ottoman authorities, however, captured him at an inn near Lovech and executed him by hanging in Sofia.
Levski looked beyond the act of liberation and envisioned a Bulgarian republic of ethnic and religious equality, largely reflecting the liberal ideas of the French Revolution and contemporary Western society. He said, We will be free in complete liberty where the Bulgarian lives: in Bulgaria, Thrace, Macedonia; people of whatever ethnicity live in this heaven of ours, they will be equal in rights to the Bulgarian in everything. Levski held that all religious and ethnic groups live in a free Bulgaria and enjoy equal rights. He is commemorated with monuments in Bulgaria and Serbia, and numerous national institutions bear his name. In 2007, he topped a nationwide television poll as the all-time greatest Bulgarian.
