Epic Cognac Distillery Tour In Cognac France 🇫🇷
COGNAC FRANCE - Today, I have stopped in the French port of La Rochelle. We visit the pretty little town of Saintes in France for a walking tour. This is a typical little French town but of course I have my eyes on the food. I stop for a French breakfast at a local boulangerie which makes artisan bread. I eat a delicious croissant and try a French baguette. After visiting Saintes we head to Cognac for a a tour at a distillery to learn how the famous French brandy, Cognac is made.
If you want to look at the cruise itinerary I was on or any other cruise by Princess Cruises then visit their website here:

An elegant, formal house set in landscaped grounds of over 2 acres and with lovely views, within easy reach of a popular small town. The property has been beautifully renovated and there is scope to develop the outbuildings to create a gite or extra accommodation.
This is an immensely attractive and elegant stone house dating from the early nineteenth century, and in excellent condition inside and out.
It has lots of space: the reception rooms are large and airy, with high ceilings and tall windows letting in plenty of light. The kitchen is spacious, well planned and again with good ceiling height. On the first floor there are two large double bedrooms and one smaller one, plus a large bathroom and separate lavatory. There is also an attic room of 25m2 which could be converted to give more living space. Oil-fired central heating keeps the house warm in the cooler months.
The very well maintained grounds extend to about 9000m2 (approximately 2 acres) and include a summerhouse with a verandah, an ancient well, and an 11m x 6m swimming pool. There is an outbuilding of about 65m2 which could be developed as extra living accommodation for family or guests or even as a separate gite.
The countryside is a patchwork of tranquil woods, low hills and vineyards dotted with historic chteaux: Monbazillac for example, a fine chteau where splendid sweet wines are made, is about 20 km away. Sauvetat-du-Dropt itself is a small village near Eymet, a grey stone-walled bastide town (well, large village, really) which, apart from all the lovely half-timbered houses within its walls, also provides all the shops and services for your everyday needs. All of this lovely architecture sits in a bowl of woods in the valley of the River Dropt. (By the way, the annual river festival, held in August, is not to be missed.)
There is a reasonable sized British population here and even a British town councillor, elected largely, it is said, by French voters, as many of the British residents have not assumed their voting rights. Here is a great success story for Anglo-French relations which the politicians would do well to observe and emulate. Apparently, everyone is happily integrated, the British presence having helped to rejuvenate the village with shops and restaurants remaining open all year and schools flourishing with their increased Anglophone intake.
Air travel links with the UK are excellent: Bergerac (about 25 km away) has budget flights, particularly in summer, from eight UK airports. Road links are reasonable to Bordeaux and thence to the motorway network.

EP7 Eating London: Barrafina, Japan Centre, Kiln, The Blackbook, Noble Rot, Blacklock, Eataly London
So you've heard of a pub crawl but have you heard of a FOOD AND WINE CRAWL?!?!?
After my friend Jia Chen and I created a massive wish list of foods/dishes/restaurants we wanted to try in London and we made to plan to try and hit them all on this super sunny weekend in London.
Having just a couple of dishes at each location meant we could try more dishes from more places. Check out the details below for where I visited in the video:
1. Barrafina, Dean Street (26-27 Dean St, London W1D 3LL)
Notorious for their no reservation policy and super long queues, we took advantage of the quieter time and arrived 10mins before opening and were seated with no issues.
2. Japan Centre and Mochi Bar, Leicester Square (35a Panton Street SW1Y 4EA)
So many lovely surprises here! Initially just intended to do some food related window shopping but managed to satisy our takoyaki and mochi cravings aswell as being treated to some lovely sake tasting!
3. Kiln, Soho (58 Brewer St, London W1F 9TL)
Highly recommended by some of my favourite chefs in London- I had to try this out. Known for their crab and pork belly clay pot glass noodle which did not dissapoint.
4. Cakes and Bubbles, Regent Street (70 Regent St, London W1B 4DY)
My third attemt to try the cheesecake made with Baron Bigod cheese (one of my favs) and shaped like one too ended in failure because they were sold out.
5. The Blackbook, Soho (23 Frith St, London W1D 4RR)
Formerly open to trade professionals only, this wine bar is now open to the public and serving some special wines all by the glass.
6. Noble Rot, Holborn (51 Lamb's Conduit St, London WC1N 3NB)
Delicious food executed perfectly. The smoked eel here was my favourite dish of the weekend!
7. Blacklock, City (13 Philpot Lane, London EC3M 8AA)
Steaks and chops during the week and roasts on sundays. That white chocolate cheesecake tho...
8. Eataly, Liverpool Street (135 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3YD)
Newly opened so went to check it out. Food lovers paradise but very pricey!
