BANGKOK, Thailand: things to do and to know | Tourism Thailand vlog 1

Bangkok, Thailand is the most visited city in the world, and in this series, I'll show you all about Bangkok: things to do, where to go, what you need to know, and even the scams in tourism. Thailand is a wonderful country, but you always need to be aware of prices and opening hours of the attractions before leaving the hotel. In this first video, you'll see Lumphini Park (or Lumpini), the beautiful Wat Saket temple (also known as Golden Mount/Golden Mountain), the Chao Phraya river and Icon Siam, a new and very unique mall.

► Bookmark this playlist, as in the next vlogs, more things to do in Bangkok:
► Here's the floating market video I mentioned in the vlog: (look at my baby face in my first trip to Thailand 😊😊)

The original video is in English, this is an automatic translation to help you watch in your own language. There are subtitles as well, you can activate them by typing C (desktop) or clicking the video, then at settings at the top of the screen (mobile).

This entire trip to Thailand was before the lockdown. Please note that, at the moment, Thailand is closed to international visitors. But this series will be a great guide for when you can travel to Thailand again.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

In this travel vlog we are exploring the beautiful Thai island of Koh Yao Noi! We start the day by enjoying a stunning sunrise and spending some time with our host family. Our host gave us a tour of the family farm. We loved the local experience and enjoyed learning about how they live sustainably. After we were showed around the farm we hopped on our scooter to go explore the island. We were able to see many beautiful beaches, the Holy Spring Water site, and get a real feel for the island. THAILAND: Chiang Mai Old City - Best things to do | day and night 🌞🌛

As the largest city in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is a must for anyone traveling here for tourism. In this video, you'll discover Chang Mai's Old City, the walled city. It's exactly one square mile full of history, temples, and things to do. Better yet: I'll show you what to do in the Old City both during the day and at night. Get ready for the beautiful and impressive temples of Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh, and to enjoy the lively Sunday night market.

Chiang Mai was founded in 1296 and it's the capital of Chiang Mai Province in northern Thailand. The name means New City in Thai. That's because back then it became the new capital of the Lan Na kingdom (an ancient kingdom that existed in the area). The city was also very important historically. It's strategically located on the Ping River (a major tributary of the Chao Phraya River), and close to major trading routes.

TOP 10 najkrásnejších míst Thajska - Best Places to Visit in Thailand

Milujeme Thajko

WHY I LOVE BANGKOK: Hidden Gems Beyond the Khaosan Road | Travel Guide

Bangkok in 2020 is more than just the Khoasan Road. This is a travel guide covering all of the must see sights and hidden gems that you can't miss on your trip.

Over the 8 months, I've been to Bangkok on 6 separate visits and this video is a culmination of all of my favourite things to do: Including the best floating market, best rooftop bars, the most epic malls, an amazing luxury hotel and the most unique hipster hangouts. I've tried to avoid the main famous sights and focus on some lesser known places.

EVERYTHING IN THIS VIDEO (INCLUDING PRICES):
Use the time codes to skip to any area you are interested in.

0:00 - Why I think Bangkok is underrated
Looking at why a lot of people leave Bangkok with a bad impression and why you should avoid the famous Khoa San Road.

01:15 - Khlom Lat Mayom Floating Market
For my money, this is the best floating market in the city. It is also one of the best places to try delicious locally cooked Thai food.

SALT BAKED FISH PRICE: 240 BAHT
$7.49 USD / £5.80

02:07 - Chao Phraya River Tour
Bangkok’s waterways are full of local life and nature. The best way to see them is by taking the boat trip from the pier at the Khlom Lat Mayom market. It includes a stop at a Lotus farm.

GROUP BOAT TOUR PRICE (per person): 100 BAHT
$3.12 USD / £2.42 GBP

PRIVATE BOAT TOUR PRICE (whole boat): 400 BAHT
$12.48 USD / £9.67 GBP

03:29 - Bangkok’s Affordable Luxury Hotels
Bangkok has a lot of cheap accommodation options, but this is a look at the highest of luxury. Which is expensive, but more affordable than you might think…

RESIDENTIAL SUITE AT THE MARRIOTT SURAWONGSE: 6000 BAHT

Places to visit Lat Krabang. 747 Jumbo Jet Bangkok Cafe [4K-60]

Places to visit in Lat Krabang. 747 Jumbo Jet Bangkok Cafe

Afternoon trip to see the Old Thai Orient 747 Jumbo Jet now come coffee bar and restaurant. Well worth the journey from central Bangkok but the venue was very busy and left us a delay of over 40 minutes to be able to go inside the plane

History

Retired Boeing 747 gets second life as a Bangkok cafe

Missing those fuselage feels and craving on-board dining? Indulge both in Bangkok without fussing through security at an airplane-turned-cafe in the eastern outskirts.

Climb aboard a Boeing 747 that once belonged to a defunct former airline situated on 10 rai (1.6 hectares) in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district at 747 Cafe, named after the plane’s model, a new destination for enthusiastic cafe-hopping completionists.

Pose in pilot or cabin crew uniforms for photos before sitting down to sip caffeinated drinks or fruit sodas.

The double-decker aircraft offers a dining area for customers to order drinks and baked goods to enjoy in windowside seats inside the stripped-down airframe. Patrons can also climb to the second level to look around the cockpit. There, one can even sit and pretend to be the captain. Feel better now?

The cafe was made possible by aviation nerds Bandit “Pilot Johnny” Lawanrattanakul and Nithiroj Chawalertwattanachai.

The plane formerly belonged to Orient Thai, whose budget carrier One-Two-Go crashed an MD-82 in Phuket in 2007, killing 87. It went out of business in 2018

Siam City Theme Park, Suan Sayam road, Khan Na Yao district of Bangkok, Thailand. ( 10 )

Siam Park is considered as the biggest theme park, as well as biggest water park in Southeast Asia, as well as the oldest water park in Thailand. Since 2007, the park owner has completed the construction of six new attractions: Vortex - the first hanging invented coaster in Thailand, Boomerang - the reverse roller coaster, Giant Drop - 75 metre free fall, Aladdin - the magic carpet ride, Siam Park Tower - 100-metre automatic observation tower, and Condor - the twister.
Siam Park is separated into three main zones, the water park ( Siam Lagoon ), the amusement park ( Siam X-treme ) and a learning park ( Siam Genius ). It also has the Pathfinder camp located inside the park. Siam Park was not the first amusement park in Thailand, the first one is Happy land at Bang-kapi then Magic Land near Central Lat Phrao, but it was closed due to the end of their land-rental contract, making Siam Park the oldest existing park in the country.
I visited Siam Park known locally as Suan Siam, on June 6th 2010. I was surprised at what I found. Many of the rides where on par with theme parks around the world. But again like Dream World,
I found everything looking tired. However that said the park was a great day out. The water park in particular was pleasant and the surroundings very well laid out. But some of the food stalls need to address their hygiene. Fly’s landing on exposed food does nothing for the appetite! Not all the stalls had this problem.
Siam Water Park is the most popular zone in the park in my view, offering the perfect place to cool down and escape the busy city streets. With plenty of shaded seating, families often spend the entire day here, jumping in and out of the river that flows through the park, which also boasts the largest wave pool in the world, with small waves and shallow areas suitable for all ages, and a gentle slope to paddle in. For older people the Super Spiral is great fun, with slides weaving in and out, and great fun for anyone over the age of eight! For smaller kids there are mini slides, and for daredevils – the speed slide!
One item to consider, the park opens at 10.00 am but that is for people wanting to go directly to the Water Park, the rest of the park and rides do not open until 11.00 am. When I was visiting I found quite a few of the rides closed altogether, I guess for refurbishment.

Rot Fai Park (Wachira Benchathat Park)

Rot Fai Park Bangkok
Location: Kamphaeng Phet 3 Rd, Lat Yao, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand

Open: Daily from 5am to 9pm

As one of the biggest parks in Bangkok, Rod Fai Park is probably the best place for those times when you’ve had too much of the urban jungle. It certainly feels a hundred miles away from bustling downtown, particularly on quieter weekdays. Birds, lizards, turtles and hundreds of grand old trees make a beautiful backdrop to a leisurely cycle around the 2 km bitumen cycle track.

Although the official name is Suan Wachira Benjathat, everyone knows it by its nickname Rod Fai Park (rod fai means 'train' in Thai, and there are still some abandoned engines and carriages close to the entrance). It's fairly easy to find Rod Fai Park, just north of Chatuchak Park and the world-famous JJ Market. Take the BTS Skytrain to Mo Chit Station or the MRT Underground to Chatuchak Park Station. It's a 10-minute walk from either station.
