I got to visit Port Vila quite a few times over the years to work on their mobile phone network.
This is a simple video taken on GoPro of me driving from the airport into the centre of Port Vila. There'd been a large storm so some flooding had taken place.
Beautiful country, wonderful people. Will definitely visit again.

AIR VANUATU from Port Vila to Pentecost Island
Chief Sekor's bungalows at Olal, Ambrym, Vanuatu
July 2011: Staying in bungalows at Chief Sekor's compound in Olal village, North Ambrym, Vanuatu. Cost is 3000 vatu (AU$36) per person, per night, including all meals; lots of white rice, white Maggi noodles, boiled yam and spam. Chief Skor's phone number is +678 5907659. He hosts the Ambrym Magic Festival in Olal in July every year and the Back to my roots festival every August. We stayed there for a week to see the Magic Festival which was pure kastom dancing and singing; the highlight being the Rom dancers. To get to Olal, you fly from Santo to Craig Cove, then a small boat will take about two and a half hours to transfer you from Craig Cove to Olal. Chief Sekor will arrange the transfers if you ask him. The boat trip was pretty amazing too, sailing past the giant twin volcanoes...

Jungle Oasis Bungalows, Tanna, Vanuatu
Meet Kelson, the owner of Jungle Oasis Bungalows on Tanna. This place looked so great that we wished we'd stayed here. With flush loos (!) and only 45 minutes walk to Yasur volcano, it costs 2500 vatu (AU$30) per night for singles including breakfast or 4500vu for couples (about $55). Kelson's phone number is +678 5448228. I think he'd be a great host and you'd be well looked after here. It was clean and looked comfortable. Kelson would be able to arrange transfers from the airport on the other side of the island.
Game Fishing in Epi and Malekula. Vanuatu
We are just back from another adventure fishing in Vanuatu. This trip we traveled to Epi where we fished for a few days then is was on tho the Maskelyne Islands at the S/E end of Malekula. We had some very good popper fishing in around the reefs. This was a 5 day trip with over 10 species of fish caught. Check out our web site.

After being there for a few hours, (and drinking a bit too much Kava) it was apparent that I didn't want to leave... but that's another story.
