Danjiangkou City, located in south-central China, northwestern Hubei Province, the middle and upper reaches of the Han River, is under the jurisdiction of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, on behalf of the city. The city has a total area of 3,121 square kilometers, with 20 towns (offices and districts) under its jurisdiction. It is the core water source area of the South-North Water Diversion Project, the dam area (Danjiangkou Dam), and the location of Wudang Mountain, a World Heritage Site and a sacred site of Taoism in China. As of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population was 409,940.
Danjiangkou has a long history and was known in ancient times as Wudang County, Wudang County and Junzhou. Chairman Mao Zedong pointed to Danjiangkou on the map and proposed South-North Water Diversion. At the Chengdu meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, it was decided to build the Danjiangkou Dam in 1958. In recent years, it has won the titles of China's excellent tourism city, national tourism card, national martial arts township, national class A open city, China's top 100 cities of happiness and wellbeing, China's top 10 development-oriented charming cities, top 100 beautiful Chinese cities, China's top 100 spring leisure cities, national garden cities, national health cities, national civilized cities, etc. For seven consecutive years from 2013 to 2019, it was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in County Economy in Hubei Province. In 2019, it was awarded China's Beautiful Mountain City and China's Top 100 Counties and Cities in County Tourism Competitiveness for 2 consecutive years from 2018 to 2019.[4 In 2020, the national Ministry of Ecology and Environment awarded the Green Water and Green Mountain is Golden Mountain practice innovation base. 2021 China's top 100 counties and cities in terms of overall competitiveness of county tourism, 19th place.
It is also known as China's Water Capital and Asian Tianchi. South-North Water Diversion Project, River Diversion Project, [7] and Hubei Water Diversion Project are located here.

Laibin (Zhuang: Laizbinh), alias World Yao Capital, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located between 108°24′-110°28′ East and 23°16′-24°29′ North, in the central part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, so it is known as Gui Zhong Hinterland. The city of Laibin is the connection between the north and south of Gui, west and east of Gui, north and Liuzhou, Guilin, Hechi border, east and Wuzhou, Guilin, Guigang adjacent, west and Hechi, Nanning intersection, south and Guigang, Nanning adjacent, the city's land area of 13411 square kilometers, is the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Beibu Gulf Economic Zone 4 + 2 city, the Pearl River -The city is also an important part of the Southwest China Sea Crossing.

National Model City of Double Support, National Forest City, Guangxi Garden City. In 2014, Laibin was listed as the first batch of national new-type urbanization comprehensive pilot area. In November 2017, Laibin was awarded as an advanced city (district) in the national ideological and moral construction of minors.

(Rosie Says) From Chongan, we took 3 bumpy buses to Zhaoxing.The whole journey took about 10 hours, and it was a real eye opener, as this is the poorest province in China. I saw lots of people building their own houses, and everybody, including 3 year-old kids were helping out. Lots of people live in wooden shacks and keep one cow for the family to survive. It reminded us that although Chinas cities are developing very quickly, the economic benefits aren't reaching the majority, who live in the countryside. People now have to pay for schools and healthcare, and we saw a lot of children whose parents can't afford to send them to school, and they have to work in the fields or on building sites. Anyway, We thought we were going to Zhaoxing but we ended up in another village where pigs were running about. We asked for Zhaoxing, and everybody pointed the same way but we couldn't see a bus. We asked if it was far to walk and they laughed. People offered to take us by rickshaw but we couldn't fit, so we stood by the side of the road for a bit feeling folorn. Eventually we hitched a lift in a posh car and the guy charged us 20 yuan which is a lot for here but never mind! When we arrived we were pleased we had gone to all the bother. It is a very special place. The people here belong to the Dong tribe, and they mostly have the same surname which is Lu. Whereas the Miao people's speciality is embroidery, the Dong people are noted for their beutifully designed wooden buildings. They speak Dong language and have a different dress code to the Miao people. The women all have very long hair which is tied on top of the head and held in place with a chopstick or a comb. They make their own cloth from hemp and die it with indigo paste (secret recipe). In this village there are five wooden bridges (all very ornate) and five drum towers (tall pagoda-like buildings. All the buildings are made from wood in the traditional dong style, even the new ones, so it makes it look very impressive. Most of the work in the village seems to be done by the women (Washing, making clothes and cooking) while the men play cards. What can I say? no surprise. We decide to stay here for 2 nights.

Binyang County, under the Nanning City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in south-central Guangxi, in the northeast of Nanning City, adjacent to Qintang District of Guigang City in the east, bordering Heng County in the east to the south, bordering Xingning District and Qingxiu District in the south, and west It is connected with Wuming District, Shanglin County in the northwest, and Xingbin District of Laibin City in the northeast. It lies between 22°54'-23°27' north latitude and 108°32'-109°15' east longitude, with a total area of 2308 square kilometers.
Binyang is the hometown of Cheng Siyuan, the former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and is known as the Hometown of Guangxi Hardware. The rice lotus root intercropping cultivation technology was the first in the country, and it was highly praised by 10 academicians of the father of hybrid rice Yuan Longping and fully affirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture and promoted nationwide. Academician Yuan Longping also wrote the inscription The hometown of rice lotus intercropping-Binyang, Guangxi .
In 2018, Binyang County has 16 towns under its jurisdiction and another farm with a registered population of 1.060 million. The GDP is calculated at comparable prices, an increase of 8.8% over the previous year. In terms of industries, the added value of the primary industry increased by 4.3% over the previous year; the added value of the secondary industry increased by 7.3% over the previous year; the added value of the tertiary industry increased by 12.3% over the previous year, and the structure of the tertiary industry was 23.0: 30.5: 46.5. In 2019, the top 100 counties and cities in western China, and the second batch of counties (districts) meeting standards for water-saving society construction. On February 13, 2020, it won the title of National “Ping An Agricultural Machinery” Demonstration County in 2019.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to order Binyang County as the national health county for the 2017-2019 cycle

Liuzhou (柳州) is a prefecture-level city in the north-central part of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China. As of the 2020 census, Liuzhou's population was 4,157,934, with 2,519,051 residing in the urban area. The city covers a total area of 18,594 km², with the urban area spanning 3,559.4 km². Liuzhou is situated on the banks of the winding Liu River, approximately 255 km from Nanning, the regional capital. The city is known for its rich history, dating back more than 2,100 years, and its strategic importance as an industrial center within the region.
Liuzhou's climate is humid subtropical, characterized by mild winters, long hot summers, and high humidity throughout the year. The city has a diverse landscape that includes rolling hills, mountain peaks, caves, and karst scenery, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding minority villages.
Economically, Liuzhou is Guangxi's second-largest city and serves as the region's industrial hub. Key industries include construction machinery manufacturing, with notable companies like LiuGong, and automotive manufacturing, represented by the SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile joint venture. The city's GDP was reported to be 231.1 billion yuan in 2015.
Tourism in Liuzhou is bolstered by its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Attractions include the Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, Dayaoshan scenic area in Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County, and Sanjiang, known for its Dong minority villages. Liuzhou also has a unique culinary scene, being the birthplace of Luosifen, Guangxi's famous dish.
Transportation infrastructure in Liuzhou is well-developed, with extensive rail connections, Liuzhou Bailian Airport, and ongoing construction of the Liuzhou Metro. The city also plays a significant role in military defense as the headquarters of the 41st Group Army of the People's Liberation Army.
Liuzhou's historical significance, industrial strength, natural beauty, and strategic location make it a vital city in Guangxi and an interesting destination for both tourists and businesses.

Overland Southwest China 4 Zhaoxing Dong Village
We continued our travels further into China's rugged southwest and went into the Provence of Guizhou. Zhaoxing is another Dong minority village and it is absolutely fabulous! Cobble stone streets, farmers working the fields and a pretty wild bar scene, read: drunk Chinese puking on the streets at midnight. We tried oil tea, wonderful, and hiked up to a smaller village Jitiang with some really cool Drum towers and not a tourist in sight.
