This was an amazing trip for my Queen's Birthday. St Lucia blew our minds with spectacular views, waterfalls, amazing food, beautiful sights, and adventure. To get into St Lucia as a vaccinated traveler this past summer, we needed a negative COVID-19 test within the last 5 days and a completed travel authorization form before landing. (***CHECK CDC WEBSITE FOR COVID-19 TESTING REQUIREMENT UPDATES FOR VACCINATED AND UNVACCINATED TRAVELERS HEADING BACK INTO THE US: ). Saint Lucia as a tourist is very expensive as many resorts start at over $1,000 USD per day. See the World, Save a Dollar is the motto and it was difficult to do it on this trip. We did so much and stayed within our budget of $1,200 for 5 days including flights, accommodations, food, attractions, and souvenirs.

Walking from Chalet La Mar, Laborie, St. Lucia to Miss Rose Bakery early morning July 2023 4K
It's about a 10 minute walk from Chalet La Mar to the Miss Rose Bakery, the only real bakery in Laborie village centre. I walked down this hill and up again most days for 3 weeks to get fresh rolls, cinnamon buns, bread pudding and biscuits. The prices are so cheap, and the quality is always great. On this particular morning I met only one person on the way plus a handful of chickens and some nosey goats. Taken on a Sony FDR-AX43 4K Camcorder. I posted a similar video (but on a cameraphone) in 2019, and not a lot has changed in 4 years!

Sights and sounds of the Caribbean island Saint Lucia, a local view and bus tour from Castries to Soufriere and beyond to see how the local Saint Lucians actually live day to day in real life. The trip was done with Stephen King and follows his footsteps around the island on a Saturday, real life, real people, without all the glamour. We depart in a local bus from Castries and drive down to the Pitons and then into the middle of the island ending the video at Stephen Kings house. Minibuses serve as the main means of Saint Lucia transportation for local residents. These buses run at various times depending on the route. Fares range from EC$2.50 to EC$8.00. All minibuses have a green number plate with an M prefix. Traveling by bus is a good option for visitors who wish to experience the island’s culture up close.
