CHIAPAS, MEXICO | 7 Best Places To Visit In Chiapas, Mexico
We explored the best places to go in Chiapas during an amazing 12-day road trip. In this video, we break down the best places to go in Chiapas, Mexico from our perspective. We had an amazing time visiting these Chiapas destinations and would highly recommend a road trip of your own one day to see them! Places we visited included: El Chiffon, Lagunas de Montebello, Las Nubes, the Lacandon Jungle, Palenque, San Cristobal de las Casas, and the Sumidero Canyon. Enjoy our video on the best places to go in Chiapas!

1. El Chiflón
The first stop on our Chiapas road trip was El Chiflón, near the city of Comitán. This is possibly the best place to go in Chiapas because of its otherworldly beauty. El Chiflon had some of the most beautiful waterfalls we have ever seen in our lives.
2. Lagunas de Montebello
Only 85 kilometres, or 53 miles, South from El Chiflon are the Lagunas de Montebello. This national park consists of 59 multi-coloured lakes in a pine forest. It’s a great place to hike, horse-back ride, drive around, and explore the lakes by traditional “balsa” boats.
3. Las Nubes
The next stop on our road trip was Las Nubes. The town and waterfalls are tucked away in the Chiapas jungle and don’t attract as many tourists as the other Chiapas highlights. This is why Las Nubes is truly one of the best places to go in Chiapas. The waterfalls stretch for kilometres and we highly recommend doing the full trail to the various viewpoints.
4. Lacandon jungle
The Lacandon Jungle is the most unique place to go in Chiapas! Not only is this the biggest rainforest in Mexico, but it is also home to the Lacandon people, who are the descendants of the ancient Maya. When the Spanish arrived in Mexico, this group fled to the jungle and survived as a culture by living deep in the rainforest. They were out of contact with the rest of the world until the 20th century.
5. Palenque
Palenque was the next stop on our road trip and one of the most famous places to go in Chiapas. Known for its mighty Mayan temples, this place is one of the best examples of Maya architecture in Mexico. Only 2% of the ruins are uncovered, which means that 98% are still covered by the surrounding land. We went on a 3 hour tour of the ruins and the jungle, which we highly recommend. During the final jungle part you’ll uncover houses of the Mayan people and find unique animals of the area.
6. San cristobal de las Casas
The colonial town of San Cristobal de las Casas is arguably one of the prettiest cities in all of Mexico. Its Historical Centre is filled with gorgeous colourful architecture and wide patios against a mountain backdrop. But besides being charming, this town is also extremely interesting thanks to its ancient past and blend of different cultures.
7. Sumidero Canyon
The Sumidero Canyon was the final stop on our road trip around Chiapas. It’s located right outside the city of Tuxtla Guttierez, and can be explored from the water as well as from the canyon walls. We did a boat ride from Chiapa de Corzo, which takes you through the canyon for 2 to 3 hours.

For almost a millennium, the ancient ruins of great architecture lay buried beneath the jungle vegetation on the Yucatan Peninsula. Abandoned by their creators these ancient temples and pyramids are a stunning reminder of a powerful civilization that once ruled the people of Central America. EL CUYO: most BEAUTIFUL beachtown in Mexico & an offroad trip to RIO LAGARTOS & LAS COLORADAS
A small charming town off the beaten track, with endless white beaches, the best kitesurf scene in Mexico, right on the edge of an amazing nature reserve. Join an adventures roadtrip along the coast off the beaten track and travel with me to El Cuyo on the Yucatan Peninsula.
I visited El Cuyo for the first time in 2017 when I was on my world trip, and I had fallen in love with this tranquil little village. El Cuyo is still small, charming and a little off the beaten track - there are no atms and only cash is accepted. But over the past few years the tiny fishing village became more and more popular among locals and tourists alike, that wanted to escape from the touristy and overpriced Riviera Maya.
The best things to do in and around El Cuyo:
1:51 Explore the cute little town El Cuyo
3:05 Enjoy the white, empty, endless beach of El Cuyo
3:44 Learn how to Kitesurf or watch all the colorful kites on the sea
4:57 Do an adventurous roadtrip to the remote Ria Lagartos Nature Reserve
6:52 Visit the biggest flamingo nesting colony in the world!
7:51 Pink Lagunas? Don't miss out on Las Coloradas and Laguna Rosa
9:17 Have a stroll at the Laguna of the cute little fishing town Rio Lagartos
10:17 Spoil yourself in the best restaurants of El Cuyo: Naia Cafe, La Negrita, and the food truck La Casa Palma

I did my research and I knew it was the jungle. I knew it would be a different experience, but I put together this list to help others travel there - these are the things I WISH I KNEW despite all the research I did.

Zihuatanejo Mexico is AMAZING! (TRAVEL GUIDE)
Zihuatanejo Mexico more commonly referred to as Zihua is a beautiful fishing village/beach town located in the state of Guerrero Mexico on the Pacific Ocean. You may see the name Ixtapa Zihuatanejo - which refers to the two neighboring towns, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo but in this Mexico travel vlog we are just going to be focusing on Zihuatanejo.
If you’re looking for what to do in Zihuatanejo, things to do in Zihuatanejo, restaurants in Zihuatanejo or wondering about Zihuatanejo fishing or the Zihuatanejo beaches like Playa Las Gatas, Playa la Ropa, and Playa Madera - we cover a lot of that in this Zihua video. And if the name Zihuatanejo sounds familiar but you just can’t figure it out its possible you know it from the movie The Shawshank Redemption.
Zihuatanejo Mexico has captured our hearts and we think it will yours too! #zihuatanejo

SKIP TULUM. COME HERE! ???????? Best Things to do in Puerto Morelos, Mexico

Puerto Morelos, Mexico - First of all, this isn’t a video about Things to do in Tulum. We actually skip Tulum all together on this Riviera May trip, because truthfully, it gets enough attention… I know, that’s crazy for me to say as a quote-un-quote “Influencer.”
Instead, today we leave Cancun behind, driving south, for a location that I think is even better than the hyped up hot spot of Tulum.
After two incredible days of searching for the best tacos in Cancun, and spending time outside the city with a traditional Mayan family, we’re ready to press on with our Riviera Maya Road Trip.
Next stop: Things to do in Puerto Morelos!
Right off the top, Puerto Morelos feels like you’ve teleported back to a more peaceful time, before the spring breaks and mega resorts found this incredible coastline.
Puerto Morelos is an authentic fishing village with a Bohemian atmosphere, but still caters to the more curious travelers who find this place.
You have all of the spa treatments, yoga studios, and open-air restaurants; including our first stop of the morning, the delicious El Nicho restaurant for a quick breakfast and then a green juice at nearby Mangata.
The National Reef Park of Puerto Morelos is the second largest barrier reef in the world, and it lives only about 400 meters off shore.
The coral reef and seagrass area is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in all of the Riviera Maya, so of course we had to come get a closer look.
This afternoon its back into the jungle to find a new cenote. Puerto Morelos has direct access to La Ruta de los Cenotes, the main road that visitors from Cancun, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen take to experience these incredible swimming holes. Along this route there are countless options, each with their own allure, and we decide on Cenotes Kin-Ha, a site that features two very unique spots.
If I haven’t mentioned this already, the trick with enjoying the beautiful cenotes in the Riviera Maya, you gotta either be the first ones here when they open, or be the last ones there in the afternoon if you want to fully appreciate these more well-known places without the crowds.
Luckily, we’re the last ones here and once we get all checked in, it’s up to us just go find the right hole in the ground.
I’m not gunna lie to you guys, the second cenote location was sketchy.
Cenote blanca Flor or White Flower, is such an innocent name, but if you’re not careful at this spot you could get seriously injured.
There’s a 5-level platform you can jump from, with the highest being 14 meters or 45 feet high, and also three zip-line options.
This is the gift and curse of having the entire place to yourself, if something goes wrong there’s nobody around to hear you scream.
We take a few, calculated risks and just enjoy the silence of the jungle for minute before it’s time to head back into Puerto Morelos for dinner…
Now, Puerto Morelos may not have as many fancy fine dining options or bottle service establishments as it’s more developed neighbors, but as a small fishing village it does have a lot of great fresh and simple seafood options.
At El Merkadito, right on the beach, you can pick out a catch of the day from the cooler, choose how you’d like it seasoned and they’ll cook for you right out front in the brick oven.
to me, this is the perfect way to end a full day.

THE DEVIL LIVES in This Mexican Jungle!! ☠️ Chetumal, Mexico Travel Vlog
???? WATCH: Best Tacos in Cancun:

???? PLEASE SUBSCRIBE:
Chetumal, Mexico - On our final day here in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico; also known as the Mexican Caribbean, or Riviera Maya (Mayan Riviera), we're off on one last Mexican adventure.
We’re told there’s a massive abandoned Mayan city deep in the Mexican jungle outside Chetumal and Bacalar, Mexico. I have been to the Maya Ruins in Tulum, Chichen Itza and the Coba Mayan Ruins in the Yucatán Peninsula. All were fascinating but pretty crowded with tourists. I wanted to travel deeper!
As the rest of the crew made their way back to the Chetumal airport to fly home, myself, Branden and our trusty driver Francisco pick up our new guide, Antonio, and a local guide Eddie to take us even deeper into the Mexican jungle to find untouched Mayan ruins.
After over an hour of driving through the jungle, we arrive in the abandoned ancient Mayan city of Chichan-Ha, and you’ll find very little information about it online.
Eddie tells me it was only discovered as a side effect from the demand of chewing gum. Apparently, during the first world war, chewing gum became so popular for the boys going off to fight that the Chico Sapote tree, the one that produces the resin for natural chewing gum, became very valuable - and thus people would travel deep into the jungle to find it.
Thankfully, the tree takes about 15 to 20 years to cultivate so once people extracted all they could, they left the area and forgot all about the ruins. Also, the long difficult drive through the jungle has kept them pretty protected ever since.
That afternoon, as our time here in the Mexican Caribbean quickly slips away, there’s just one more place I want to experience to cap off this Mayan-focused expedition. After a delicious Mexican Food lunch outside Chetumal, we visit one final Mayan Ruins site called Kohunlich.
he incredibly well-preserved ruins of Kohunlich. It’s Tulum or Chitchan Iza without the people. Literally, nobody.
The ancient city of Kohunlich covers 21 acres surrounded by tropical rainforest. It was elaborately planned and engineered with raised platforms, plazas, pyramids, citadels and courtyards, and the craziest part is, what we see is only the tip of the iceberg, the majority of this site remains unexcavated.
Finishing the trip here provides even more appreciate for this unbelievable civilization. Walking among these historical footsteps and just imagining what life was like here gives me such an an amazing energy, and a feeling that I’m honestly gunna miss. I love this stuff.
Please leave a comment if you've read this far so I can thank you personally! ????
