Cherbourg, France is the cruise port that gives you access to @NormandyTourism and the WWII history of the D-Day Beaches. On its own, @Cherbourg is a lovely town with a beautiful town int hall and a lively center. An hour's drive will get you to Utah and Omaha Beaches, the town of Saint Mere Elise, Bayeaux, and the American Cemetery above Omaha Beach.
Even closer to Cherbourg are the charming villages of Barfleur, Saint Vast la Hougue, Quettehou, Teurtheville Bocage, and Saint Pierre Eglise. 這是世界上最大的冰淇淋店，平均每天接待3萬名顧客，買份冰淇淋要排幾百米的長隊，沒有一兩個小時根本吃不到嘴裡，這簡直就是一座巨大的冰淇淋公園，甚至被當地人稱為冰淇淋大教堂。
這就是古巴最知名的標誌性國營機構，位於首都哈瓦那韋達多公園內的葛蓓莉亞冰淇淋店，該店以飛碟塔為中心，螺旋形的樓梯從中間升起，近兩年重新裝修後的樣子顯得更加整潔乾淨。
在哈瓦那不論男女老幼對冰淇淋都是無比熱愛，但在古巴有一項重要技能就是排隊，而這冰淇淋店似乎已將排隊提升為一種行為藝術。
其實真正排隊的都是古巴本地人，外國遊客一旦排到隊中，通常都會被保安帶到另一個無需排隊的地方購買冰淇淋。但你千萬不要以為這是對遊客的友好和優惠。
在擁有兩套貨幣系統的古巴就是這樣，簡單說一般古巴國民都使用古巴比索CUP，而一些富人或者外國遊客則只能兌換另一種貨幣CUC，在居民平均月收入為20-25美元之間的古巴，冰淇淋店提供一勺1CUP（4美分）價格的冰淇淋非常受歡迎，但對於遊客來說一勺則是1CUC，其價格要貴25倍。
所以對於排隊的古巴人來說，這也許是一種優越和滿足。他們太喜歡冰淇淋了，經常全家一起去享受，巨大的冰淇淋店就好像大食堂大餐廳大排檔，服務員端起冰淇淋猶如飯店上菜一般壯觀。
在這裡也充滿著無限的浪漫，人們都會不禁想起1993年的古巴電影《草莓巧克力》。
古巴人如此熱衷冰淇淋還要歸功於前領導人卡斯特羅，1960年他命令從美國運來28種口味的冰淇淋，最初的目標是通過購買荷蘭和瑞典最好的機器，生產出比美國大品牌更多的冰淇淋口味。卡斯特羅將世界最大的冰淇淋店計劃交於秘書西莉亞·桑切斯實施，後來冰淇淋店於1966年開業時推出了26種口味，是為了紀念1953年7月26日古巴革命的開始。
有人說在古巴首都哈瓦那，忘記雪茄，朗姆酒和懷舊復古的出租車。忘記海明威，卡斯特羅和切格瓦拉。關於真正的古巴生活只有兩件事，那就是排隊和冰淇淋。
