Malvan taluka consists of villages such as Angane Wadi Masure, Achra, Khalchi Devli, Jamdul, Juva, Pankhol, Talasheel and Sarjekot. The main occupation here is fishing and agriculture. The staple diet of the local people is fish curry and rice. The town produces Alphonso mangoes and is also known for sweets such as Malvani Khaja made from gram-besan flour and coated jaggery as well as Malvani Ladoos. Other sweets that attract tourists are Konkani meva, Aambawadi, Fanaspoli, dry fruits, Kajuwadi, Naralachya Wadya, and Malvani Masale.

तळ कोकणातील नऊदेवी दर्शन Organised by @unexploredkonkan and @apulkitours Tours
नवरात्रोत्सवा निमित्त तळ कोकणातील नऊदेवी दर्शन हि संकल्पना सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्यात कदाचित पहिल्यांदाच राबविण्यात आली असेल.
Unexplored Konkan आणि आपुलki Tours यांनी एकत्र येऊन या एक दिवसीय नऊ देवी दर्शन सहलीचे आयोजन केले होते.
सहलीची सुरूवात सकाळी ८.०० वाजता कुडाळ येथून झाली. सर्वप्रथम कुडाळ येथे नाश्ता करून केळबाई देवीचे दर्शन घेतले. कुडाळ मधील कविलगाव येथे असलेल्या भारतातील पहिल्या साई मंदिरला यावर्षी १०० वर्षे पुर्ण होत आहेत, म्हणून तेथे सुद्धा दर्शन घेण्यात आले.
तिथून दुसऱ्या देवीच्या दर्शनासाठी प्रस्थान झाले आणि दुसरी देवी धामापूर येथील भगवती देवीचे दर्शन घेण्यात आले. धामापूर वरुन आंगणेवाडीची भराडी देवी व पुढे जलसातेरी देवीचे दर्शन घेण्यात आले.
बिलवस येथील जलसातेरी देवीचे दर्शन झाल्यावर आम्ही रेवंडी येथील भद्रकाली देवीच्या दर्शनासाठी पोहोचलो. रेवंडी हे वस्रहरणकार मच्छिंद्र कांबळे यांचे गाव. आमचे सर्वांचे नशिब चांगले म्हणून दर्शनानंतर तेथेच आम्हांला महाप्रसाद भंडारा सुद्धा घेता आला.
अशा प्रकारे ५ देवींचे दर्शन झाल्यावर आम्ही पुढे निसर्गरम्य अशा घुमडे गावी पोहोचलो तेथे पाण्यात असलेल्या घुमडाई देवीचे सर्वांनी दर्शन घेतले.
पुढे घुमडे ते चिपी असा प्रवास करुन चिपी एअरपोर्ट जवळच असलेल्या येसु आक्का देवीच्या मंदीरात दर्शन घेतले, तेथील पुजाऱ्यांनी येसु आक्काची अख्यायिका सांगितली.
चिपी वरुन आम्ही थेट म्हापण येथील शांतादुर्गा सातेरीच्या दर्शनासाठी पोहोचलो. तेथे वारकरी भजन स्पर्धा चालु होती. सर्व भाविकांना वारकरी भजनाचा आनंद घेता आला. तिथून जवळच असलेल्या पाट येथील माऊलीचे दर्शन घेण्यात आले. पाट येथे असलेल्या तलावात दर वर्षी थंडीच्या मोसमात स्थलांतरित पक्षी भेट द्यायला येतात.
पाट गावातील जळवीवाडी येथे श्री. महेश वेळकर यांचे घर आहे आणि त्यांच्या घरात स्वयंभू भवानी देवी प्रकट झाली आहे. सहलीच्या नियोजनात पाट गावची माऊली व वेळकर यांच्या घरातील भवानी या देवींचे दर्शन ठरले नव्हते. पण सर्व सहल वेळेत चालत आल्यामुळे आमच्याकडे काही वेळ शिल्लक होता म्हणून या दोन देवींचे दर्शन घेण्यात आले.
वेळकर यांच्या घरुन आम्ही शेवटच्या देवी दर्शनासाठी चेंदवण येथे पोहोचलो. चेंदवणच्या माऊलीला नवस पुर्ण झाल्यावर लाकडाच्या वस्तु द्याव्या लागतात. मंदिर आवारात बरेच लाकडी वस्तू आपणास पहावयास मिळतात.
अशा प्रकारे नऊ देवी दर्शनासाठी निघालेलो आम्ही ११ देवी आणि साई मंदिर यांचे मनोभावे दर्शन घेऊन नियोजित वेळेत संध्याकाळी ठिक ७.०० वाजता कुडाळ येथे पोहोचलो. कुडाळ येथे सर्वांचे सहली बद्दलचे अभिप्राय घेऊन सर्व भक्तांना निरोप देण्यात आला. एकंदरीत सर्व भाविक नियोजनाबाबत खुप खुष होते.
