4K Czech Republic walk: Kolín old town, Church of St Bartholomew - 🇨🇿 HDR ASMR
Today, in our 4K Czech Republic walk, we will leave Prague and go to the city of Kolín, which is located 50 km to the east. We will walk a small circle through the historic central part of this city.
Kolín is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 32,000 inhabitants. It lies some 50 kilometers east of Prague, on the Elbe River. The town center is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument reservation. Ptolemy's world map mentioned Budorgis in the Kolín's area in the 2nd century. Kolín was founded by King Ottokar II of Bohemia in the 13th century by relocation when floods threatened Starý Kolín (Old Kolín), and the king decided to move the settlement. The first written mention of Kolín was from 1261 when it was mentioned that Přelouč obtained town privileges, same as Kolín and Kouřim have. It lied on a trade route Prague–Český Brod–Čáslav–Moravia.
In 1437–1438, a castle was founded in Kolín. It was built on ruins of a burned-down monastery. During the Thirty Years' War, it was damaged, and in the 17th century, it was rebuilt into a brewery. In 1911, the castle burned down, and its Renaissance look disappeared.
The Church of St. Bartholomeus in Kolín is a critical Gothic cultural monument in the Central Bohemian Region. The sacral building, originally dated from the 13th century, was built at the request of King Přemysl Otakar II. and has been under reconstruction over the centuries. The court builder of the Czech king and Roman emperor Charles IV Petr Parléř contributed to its reconstruction. A high cathedral choir with a wreath of chapels to the church was added. A prismatic bell tower was added in the 16th century. The Church of St. Bartholomew is on the list of national cultural monuments in the Czech Republic.

S23EP32 | CZECH Most IMPRESSIVE city in EUROPE?
Prague is one of those special cities that you just HAVE to visit. There are few places that can match Prague's over-the-top romance, evocative Old-World charm…and crowds. Prague is equal parts historic and fun. Prague is the only Central European capital to escape the large-scale bombing of the last century's wars — and remain one of Europe's best-preserved cities.

Amazing Things to Do in Kutna Hora & Top Kutna Hora Attractions
Do you wonder what to do in Kutna Hora? See this video and discover with us the best things to do in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. Kutna hora is a small town located only about 70 km from Prague. This picturesque town used to be one of the most important silver mining centers in the Middle Ages and is dominated by the Church of St. Barbara, the patron of miners. Its construction lasted more than 500 years as it began in 1388 and was completed only in 1905. Right next to the church is a Jesuit College which was built between 1667–1750 and inside you can find a beautiful art gallery. You cannot miss the Sedlec ossuary – a Roman catholic chapel containing the skeletons of between 40 and 70 thousand people artistically used to decorate its interior. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Czech Republic and is also known as the Church of Bones. Considering that Kutna hora is a little town today it might seem unbelievable that between 13th and 16th century it competed with Prague for financial and political dominance.

4k Exploring The Spa Frantiskovy Lazne - Cheb - Czech Republic 🇨🇿
The Spa town of Frantiskovy Lazne, (Franzenbad), was named for the Emperor Franz II (Holy Roman Emperor and ruler of Austria, in the last years of the 1700`s. It became popular, especially with Russian nobility but suffered much after WW1 and the end of the Russian Empire. It suffered further decline after the expulsion of the German population following WW2. After years nationalised under the communist regime the town is reviving as a popular destination for health tourism. Nearby Cheb (Eger), is an older and historic city which until the dispossessions and expulsions of the late 1940`s had a German population. Its old town is now wonderfully restored and protected and a place that is really enjoyable to explore.

Kutna Hora (Czech Republic) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic.
Kutna Hora is situated close to Prague and historically is one of the most important cities in the Czech Republic. In the Early Middle Ages the city gained its wealth from the mining of silver ore. In its heyday in the fourteenth century, the city had a population of around a hundred thousand and each year ten thousand miners extracted three million kilograms of silver from seven hundred metres below ground, which was equal to one third of the mined silver in the ancient world. In 1142 a Cistercian monastery was founded in today's Sedlec district along with the adjoining Gothic church of St. Mary, an imposing building with five naves and seven choir chapels. Following the demolition of the church by the Hussites in 1421, it lay in ruins for three hundred years until, in 1699, reconstruction in Baroque Gothic style began. Close to the monastery a cemetery chapel contains a crypt with a bone house that accommodates around forty thousand human skeletons that have been formed into numerous macabre works of art: pyramids, chandeliers, monstrances and the coat of arms of Prince Schwarzenberg are a reminder of the transience of life on Earth. However, in 1713 the Black Death arrived which marked the tragic end of the city’s prosperity that had already begun to decline when the city was twice destroyed by fire during the Hussite Wars and was further crippled due to cheap imports of silver from America. Nevertheless, Kutna Hora still shines resplendent even today.

***Please read Jiří Kouba's comment for up to date valuable local information. George pointed out that the Mill has been closed since 2013 and now it is an art gallery. Very nice way to preserve past history while promoting local artists and art culture! Well done, Pardubice and thank you George Kouba!***
In my perspective, from where I come from, I find these things interesting and it is just my opinion, feel free to disagree and leave comments, open to discussions :-)
Pardubice (pronounced, Par-doo-bits-uh) is the 10th largest city in Czech Republic, dates all the way from 1295 settlement. Approximately, 60 miles (96km) east of Prague, 1 hour train or bus ride. Known for auto factory, oil refinery, machinery, electric plants and gingerbread! Taking train or bus will take more or less same time. *** I recommend the train for the fact you can stretch your feet and walk around, plus modern trains have LCD screen for movies and shows***
Round trip from Prague to Pardubice should cost around $18-20 (15 Euros) for business or premium. Or economy can be low as $10-12 (8-10 Euros), economy plus $13-14 (12 Euros) with LeoExpress. Book in advance!!!
