Dandenong Ranges Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺 | Travel Vlog

#Dandenongranges #Travelmelbourne #Besttouristspotinmelbourne

Hello Beautiful Fellas,

Sharing This very late upload travel vlog around Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia

Travel Itineraries:
📍Burkes Lookout- The best views of Melbourne from the Dandenong Ranges, day or night this is a spectacular walk.
New Year’s Eve at Burkes Lookout has become a very popular place to be. It gets really crowded, though the atmosphere is usually always great.

Walk Notes
* Total Distance: Just under 1 km
* Walking time: 20 minutes return
* Easy grade walk.
* Parking available on Osprey Road (off Ridge Road). This is a very short road.
* Public Transport: Bus service along Ridge Road, Mt Dandenong from Croydon or Ferntree Gully. Ask the driver to let you off at Osprey Road/Kyeema Memorial.
* No toilets. Nearest public toilets: Olinda or Sky High, Mt Dandenong
* Pram-Friendly though can be a bit bumpy. A suitable pram for rougher tracks is ideal.
* Depending on the wheelchair type, it may be possible to use this track.

📍Dandenong Ranges National Park
- A short 1.5 hour drive from the city. Dandenong Ranges National Park is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape. Parks Victoria respects the deep and continuing connection that Traditional Owners have to these lands and waters, and we recognise their ongoing role in caring for Country.
- The forested slopes of the Dandenong Ranges are a place of tranquil forest walks, quaint hilltop towns and charismatic animals such as lyrebirds and wallabies. Conquer the famous 1000 Steps, discover Olinda Falls and enjoy commanding views over Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.
- The Dandenong Ranges is a rainforest getaway on Melbourne's doorstep. A short drive or train ride from the city you will find steep volcanic hills covered in stands of the world's tallest flowering tree, the Mountain Ash. Living among the greenery are wallabies, lyrebirds, wombats and the Powerful Owl so please ensure you leave your dogs at home to avoid disturbing the local wildlife.

📍10,000 Steps- Take an energetic walk up the 1000 Steps from Ferntree Gully Picnic Area and learn about its poignant association with Australia's Second World War veterans and the Kokoda Track Campaign.

William Ricketts Sanctuary, the Dandenongs, Victoria, Australia

A quick look through the William Ricketts Sanctuary rock sculpture garden in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges in Victoria Australia

The Independent Restaurant Gembrook

#photography

Gembrook, a small town in the Shire of Cardinia, Victoria, Australia, is situated just 54 kilometres southeast of Melbourne's Central Business District. It is located on the edge of the Bunyip State Forest, making it a perfect destination for those who love the outdoors. Spending a day in Gembrook is a leisurely experience with plenty of options to dine, shop or have a picnic in the park. A visit to the old train station, the final stop of the iconic Puffing Billy train, is a must. The town has a rich history that dates back to 1873 when Europeans first settled there. Gembrook's primary industries were farming and sawmilling.

Today, Gembrook is home to The Independent restaurant, which serves creative Argentinian dishes in a modern setting with wood-panelled walls and high ceilings. Some beautiful delicious mains and desserts are served up.

While in Gembrook, be sure to explore the surrounding areas and capture beautiful photos of the landscape and food photography.

Cloudehill Gardens Nursery Diggers Garden Dandenong Ranges 4K Walk Cinematic Travel Film Vlog Trip

Cloudehill is a garden at the top of the Dandenongs in Olinda, and is internationally famous for garden rooms overflowing with flowers and magnificent artwork all year round.

Some 25 garden compartments are divided by stone walls and hedges. They include Australia’s finest summer borders, peony gardens, a spring shrub walk, bluebell woodlands, extensive bulb meadows, and a ‘green theatre’ which hosts the Summer twilight concert series.

Deep volcanic soil and moist mild weather allow plants to reach majestic proportions. The weeping Japanese maples at the heart of the garden are of serious significance. Imported from the legendary Yokohama Nursery in Japan they have been growing on the property since 1928.

The Diggers Club operates Cloudehill’s nursery, stocking heirloom seeds and mature trees, as well as many of the plants to be found in the gardens. Seasons Restaurant provides a unique dining experience using fresh local produce.

Cloudehill Gardens and the Diggers Garden Shop are open with COVID safe measures in place.

The team ask you to please defer your visit if you feel unwell and check the website for updates before planning your trip.

Top 16 Things to do in the Dandenong Ranges | Mt. Dandenong

One of the best day trips from Melbourne is Mt. Dandenong in the Dandenong Ranges. This video I list the top things to do at Mt. Dandenong. From the popular family outing of Puffing Billy where I show how to get there, booking and prices. To adrenaline zip lining at Trees Adventure, to the beautiful gardens of Alfred Nicholas Gardens and the botanic gardens to amazing views of Melbourne from SkyHigh Mt Dandenong or from Burkes Lookout. If you are looking for something to do while in Melbourne, there are plenty of great tourist attractions in the Dandenong Ranges. This is the list of the best tourist attractions in Mount Dandenong:

Puffing Billy is an old time steam train where you can take a scenic railway journey in the Dandenong Ranges. A great family activity to do in Melbourne around an hour from the city. In the video I show how to book Puffing Billy, how to get there and costs.

Trees Adventures is an adrenaline thrilled tree top adventure. Filled with zip lines and obstacles that is fun for any age. For something different in Melbourne try this!

The 1000 Steps Kokoda Walk is a wonderful attraction at Mt. Dandenong. Along The Kokoda Trail Memorial Walk you can read some informative information on the World War II campaign in Papau New Guinea by Australian soldiers. The walk is a bit of challenge, so you will need some moderate level of fitness. Bring some water as well!

Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens in the Dandenong’s with its picturesque water features and amazing gardens, particularly in the autumn when it just looks spectacular.

George Tindale Memorial is another beautiful spot on Mt. Dandenong. Its information board shows it as a garden for all seasons. Again it looks lovely in autumn.

Grants Picnic Ground is located in the Sherbrooke Forest and one of the top tourist spots at Mt. Dandenong. Check out the lovely walking trails or feed some of the wild birds here such as cockatoos and rosellas.

Miss Marple’s Tearoom in the town of Sassafras. This is one of the most famous places to have Devonshire tea in the Dandenongs. With lots of memorabilia playing homage to an Agatha Christie character Miss Marple.

Cuckoo Restaurant is probably the most famous of all restaurants on Mt. Dandenong. From its renowned buffet to the live entertainment including yodelling and German music. A great place for the whole family.

Pie in the Sky offers some of the best meat pies you can find in the Dandenongs.

The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens is a wonderful spot to take the family to visit. Beautiful gardens particularly in the autumn. The colours of the trees look amazing.

Another must do gardens in Mt. Dandenong is CloudeHill Gardens. A flawless, well maintained gardens with lovely water features, statues that is full of colour. Great to come in autumn.

Tesselaar Tulip festival in the spring is one of the top tulip farms in Australia. But I visit their KaBloom Festival of flowers in the autumn. A wonderful array of colourful flowers covering a huge area. It looks stunning.

Olinda Falls in the Dandenong Ranges is a petty waterfall to visit.

William Ricketts Sanctuary has 92 clay sculptors of aboriginals. Learn about this artist in a short video inside a cabin.

SkyHigh Mount Dandenong offers some amazing views of Melbourne and Port Philip Bay (weather permitting!).

Burkes Lookout is free and has some fantastic views from Mt. Dandenong as well. It is a little bit harder to find though.
