Weather
The weather in the UK can vary from day to day. Warmer and hotter months are between April to September. Colder months with snow,sleet and rain are between October and March. You can get some humidity and pollen is highest, between June and August for hayfever suffers. You can also get rain in between, April and September.

Time Difference
During the winter months, Britain is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 10 hours behind Sydney. Western standard time is five hours behind.
From late March until late October, the clocks go forward one hour to British Summer Time (BST).

Weight And Measurements
Britain is officially metric, in line with the rest of Europe. However, imperial measures are still in use, especially for road distances, which are measured in miles. Imperial pints and gallons are 20 per cent larger than US measures.

1 mile = 1.6 kilometres
1 ounce = 28 grams
1 pound = 454 grams
1 pint = 0.6 litres
1 gallon = 4.6 litres

1 centimetre = 0.4 inch
1 metre = 3 feet 3 inches
1 kilometre = 0.6 mile

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK

Thanks Tony for leading this walk on such a fantastic Sunny Blue Sky Day. The hottest February day since records began.
This is a two counties walk and starts at Kidsgrove (Staffordshire) Railway Station and finishes at The Queens Head just off Macclesfield canal next to Congleton (East Cheshire) Railway Station.
Walked with Tony Littler PNFS Walk Leader and 15 other PNFS members on Wednesday 27/02/2019.
Kidsgrove is a town in the borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, Kidsgrove once coal mining town.
This walk passes Mow Cop folly 335m above sea level, offers fantastic views all around Staffordshire and Cheshire.
The tower visible for miles around was built as a summer house in by Lord of The Manor Randle Wilbraham in 1754.
Harecastle Tunnel is a canal tunnel actually two separate but parallel tunnels built almost 50 years apart.
The first was constructed by James Brindley in the late 18th century and the second larger tunnel was designed bu Thomas Telford, and opened in the late 1820s on the Trent and Mersey Canal.
1.5 mi (2.4 km) long between Kidsgrove and Tunstall Staffordshire.
Its was used for transporting coal to the kilns in the Staffordshire Potteries.
