Karak is a district of province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa situated on Indus highway. It is 123 kilometers far from Peshawar, lies in division KOHAT. History of Karak in Urdu and Hindi languages is described in this video.

Karak has 3 tehsils; Banda Dawood Shah, Takht-e-Nasrati and Karak itself.
Karak is perhaps the only district where oil reservoirs, gas reservoirs, uranium mines, salt mines and gypsum mines are present in Nashpa Banda, Makori, Bahadur Khel, Gurguri, Takht e nasrati, and Latamber.
The most famous legacy of Karak district is the famous Ber honey which is get from the plants of BER and Pholai.
Famous people from Karak are: Pareshan Khattak, General Ali Kuli Khan (opponent of General Pervez Musharraf for the elections of Chief of Army staff for Pakistan Army), Aslam Khattak, General Aamir, Masood Shareef Khan Khattak and Khush Haal Khan Khattak.

The Karakoram Highway KKH, also known as N-35 or National Highway 35 or the China-Pakistan Friendship Highway) is a 1,300 km (810 mi) national highway which extends from Hasan Abdal in the Punjab province of Pakistan to the Khunjerab Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan, where it crosses into China and becomes China National Highway 314. The highway connects the Pakistani provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plus Gilgit-Baltistan with China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The highway is a popular tourist attraction and is one of the highest paved roads in the world, passing through the Karakoram mountain range, at 36°51′00″N 75°25′40″E at maximum elevation of 4,714 m (15,466 ft) near Khunjerab Pass.Due to its high elevation and the difficult conditions under which it was constructed, it is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The highway is also a part of the Asian Highway AH4.

Karak (Pashto: کرك, Urdu: کرک) is the headquarters of Karak District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is 123 km from Peshawar on the main Indus Highway between Peshawar and Karachi. It is located at 33°7'12N 71°5'41E. Karak is said to be the single district in Pakistan which is inhabited by only one tribe of Pashtuns — the Khattak.
The predominant language of Karak is Pashto;locally known as khattaka the dialect is the softer Kandahari Pashto as opposed to the harder Peshawari dialect. Urdu and English are understood by majority however, they are spoken to a lesser degree. Mostly people here like to wear Shalwar Qamees, that is traditional dress of almost every city in khyber Pashtunkhwa.

Karak City Mela held every Sunday inside main Karak City where locals from Karak bazar buy vegetables and fruits that usually available in the mela point otherwise the public buy goods from the market of #KarakCity. After having a round in #KarakMela we did our lunch on #IndusHighway which was amazing.
