Kerékpártúra a Kőszegi hegységben/Bicycle ride in Kőszeg mountains ( Hungary ) / English cc avaible

English below.....

Sziasztok!

English description

Hello! - October... autumn in Hungary...23.10.2020- it's a perfect day we leave behind, autumn is here, that can be noticed in the colorful forest view, in the shrinking days and sunny hours and in the thick fog that covers the surrounding landscape day by day. It feels like Mother nature uses the fog as a warm blanket during it's winter hibernation.
Our journey started on a similar foggy morning in the Köszegi mountains with Steni, Ildikó, Ottó, Lívia and Imola. Although the weather was grim and unfriendly our hearts were filled with joy and warmth due to the great company, the beatiful nature view and the uphills rising in front of us.
Through the day we visited the bunker where the hungarian Crown was guarded for a short time, the Hétforrás spring, Óház view point, Hörmann spring, Stájerhouses, Szent Vid Chapel, Abér lakes and we enjoyed a nice meal in Bozsok, at Határmenti Vigadó.

This is a shorter version of the video footage about our tour in the Kőszegi mountains, fot those who have no time or pacience to watch the longer version of it. :)

Thank you for watching and hope you enjoy it!

Köszeg. Historic town centre | Hungary #12

We take to the tracks to Köszeg on the Hungarian-Austrian border. This picturesque little town is often called Hungary's jewelry box for its many pretty historic buildings. It is especially nice to dwell around Jurisics tér (Jurisics square) in the middle of the old town. Köszeg's stout castle has once held against an enormous army of invading Ottomans.

Koeszeg (Hungary) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Koeszeg in Hungary
The strategic location of the city of Köszeg in the west of Hungary once determined its fate. : Today Köszeg is one of Europe’s most beautiful castle cities and in the Old Town, the Gate Tower and Captain’s Residence of the main square immediately indicate the city’s long history. The whole of the main square is completely framed by picturesque Baroque buildings and their colourful facades. Köszeg survived World War II undamaged and so it is not surprising that it is known as the most beautiful city in the region. With its gate-tower, the imposing Heroes Gate provides access to the Main Square. Although built in 1932 to commemorate the four hundredth anniversary of the Turkish Siege, it blends in perfectly with the surroundings. For the Austrian Habsburgs, Köszeg acted as a bulwark designed to defend Vienna from attack by the Turks, and it worked. The impressive remains of the Synagogue, built in 1859, are a reminder of the city’s former large Jewish community. Köszeg is a jewel of history, a fairy tale idyll!

Kőszeg is a small town in Vas county, Hungary. The town is famous for its historical character. A friend of mine showed me around in the historic downtown. Such a beatiful place! I was a good tourist and I checked every building because i'm in love with this medieval architectural style.
Sorry if sometimes the quality of the video is bad, we drank during the walk 😀
Enjoy it as much as I enjoyed this short trip! 💓

It is recommended to crown your trip in the Kőszeg Mountains with the discovery of Jurisics Castle in historic downtown. Its origin dates back to the 13th century, however, later remodeling works added signature features of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture to its character. Various exhibitions, unique performances and concerts in the castle theatre, family programs as well as the view from the western tower guarantee a complex experience.
