South Central Railway Station Kavali

Kavali comes under South Central Railway in Andhra Pradesh.

Kavali is a beautiful tree lined station which lies on the Grand Trunk route midway between Chennai and Vijayawada. It is 226 km from Chennai and 204 km from Vijayawada.

Kavali or Kanaka Patnam is a municipality in Nellore district on NH5. Kavali is second biggest town in Nellore district.

It is well known for the whole sale cloth business in the Coastal Andhra Pradesh. One can find a large number of whole sale cloth markets along the most important road in the town, the Grand trunk road which passes right through the city.

Kavali is very near to sea shore. Ramayapatnam, which is 14 km from Kavali has a scenic lighthouse.

The first Solid State Interlocking (also known as Electronic Interlocking system) was commissioned at Kavali station of South Central Railway in July 1994.
