AoA, I visited Kamra Airbase with ISPR, Minhas Airbase or Kamra Airbase is a PAF Airbase located at Kamra, Attock District, Punjab, Pakistan. It was named in the honour of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas, who was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider for valor in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

1.Kamra کامرہ is situated about 78 Kms from Rawalpindi to Peshawar on the GT Road. it is not a big city but is popular due to Pakistan Air Force Base. But some of its places are very beautiful. attock Fort is situated in Kamra city area. the two rivers the Kabul & the Indus River both are also passing near by Kamra Cantt. Ghazi Brotha Hydral Project is also near Kamra in district Attock. GBHP Canal is passing through Kamra Cantt and Ratti Jinah Hill Park is situated on the bank of this Canal. a sunset scene gives very pleasure to the visitors from Ratti Jinah Hill Top. Specially when sun sets in the waters of Canal it looks fabulous.
On December 10, 2007 seven people including four children were injured when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a Pakistan Aeronautical Complex PAC school vehicle outside the Kamra facility. Terrorists targeted the PAC at Kamra in the Punjab province on 17 January 2008, firing four rockets at short intervals, Dawn reported. One of rockets landed on the roof of the senior non-commissioned officers' mess and two others hit airmen's residences inside the Mirage Rebuilt Factory. the fourth rocket exploded in a field near the Qutba village, close to the Kamra Cantonment. However no casualty was reported. this is reportedly the second incident of terrorism targeting the Kamra cantonment in a little more than a month.
Speaking at Kamra Cantt on November 16, 2008, Minister of State for Defence Production Sardar Saleem Haider on Saturday said that more than 6,000 sacked workers including Ghazi Barotha Power Project PAC Kamra, POF Wah Cantt, Sanjwal Cantt, SNGPL, OGDCL are being re-instated on their jobs along with their all legitimate financial benefits. While talking to local media persons here, he said the Bhutto family sacrificed their lives to prevail real democracy in Pakistan. He said people of Attock have played their role even in the regime of martial law and never compromised on their political commitments with the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He said new dams would also be constructed to overcome the energy crisis. On the occasion he also urged upon all the office bearers and workers of PPP to finalise the arrangements for the first death anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto being held on December 27, 2008.

With this background the commanders of Pakistan Air Force decided to embark upon achieving the historic goal of creating an indigenous overhauling facility for F6 Fleet of PAF. After negotiation with the OEM and the Chinese Government’ the establishment of F6 Rebuild Factory now known as Aircraft Rebuild Factory ARF started at Kamra duly supervised by Chinese Experts. On its completion, the first ever aircraft rolled out after Overhaul in the year 1980.#kmho vlog

GBHP Canal is passing through Kamra Cantt and Ratti Jinah Hill Park is situated on the bank of this Canal. a sunset scene gives very pleasure to the visitors from Ratti Jinah Hill Top. Specially when sun sets in the waters of Canal it looks fabulous.
On December 10, 2007 seven people including four children were injured when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a Pakistan Aeronautical Complex PAC school vehicle outside the Kamra facility. Terrorists targeted the PAC at Kamra in the Punjab province on 17 January 2008, firing four rockets at short intervals, Dawn reported. One of rockets landed on the roof of the senior non-commissioned officers' mess and two others hit airmen's residences inside the Mirage Rebuilt Factory. the fourth rocket exploded in a field near the Qutba village, close to the Kamra Cantonment. However no casualty was reported. this is reportedly the second incident of terrorism targeting the Kamra cantonment in a little more than a month.
Speaking at Kamra Cantt on November 16, 2008, Minister of State for Defence Production Sardar Saleem Haider on Saturday said that more than 6,000 sacked workers including Ghazi Barotha Power Project PAC Kamra, POF Wah Cantt, Sanjwal Cantt, SNGPL, OGDCL are being re-instated on their jobs along with their all legitimate financial benefits. While talking to local media persons here, he said the Bhutto family sacrificed their lives to prevail real democracy in Pakistan. He said new dams would also be constructed to overcome the energy crisis.
