Adventure in Jerantut, Pahang: The Gateway of Taman Negara - MALAYSIA TRAVEL VLOG & GUIDE
After our visit to Taman Negara National Park, we explored Jerantut, Pahang, and visited Gua Kota Gelanggi and Lata Meraung Waterfalls.
Many people only pass through this town to go to Taman Negara, but there are actually many things to do here. Check our cave adventure full of creepy things...snakes, spiders, bats. It may even be haunted!
On our way to the waterfalls, we also passed by an Orang Asli village and Bukit Seladang which was supposed to be spectacular for sunrise.
The waterfalls itself was nice. Was it the most beautiful waterfalls in Malaysia? Not sure, but it was definitely refreshing to swim and worth to check out. If you like nature, come here for cuti cuti Malaysia.

Taman Negara, Pahang (II) : Activities during First Visit 【Malaysia Adventure】
This video is Part 2 of my first visit to Taman Negara. It summarises some of the activities I had during the visit (not all activities are recorded though).
Part 1 of the visit focuses on some of the birds and fauna I encountered during the trip:
To visit Taman Negara from Kuala Lumpur by public transport, firstly take a bus from Pekeliling Bus Terminal (beside Titiwangsa LRT Station) that heads to Jerantut, Pahang. From Jerantut's bus terminal, you can reach Kuala Tahan either by taxi/local bus, or by boat (via Tembeling River). I let local travel agency in Jerantut to arrange boat transport for me. The boat was shared with other travellers, mostly backpackers.

How To Get There
The nearest town is Jerantut, Pahang. The journey from Kuantan by car or public transport takes about 3 to 4 hours. From Jerantut, visitors can either take a bus or taxi to the Jeti Kuala Tembeling, which is about 16 km from Jerantut. From the Jeti Kuala Tembeling, visitors have to take a boat to Kuala Tahan. The boat ride takes about 2 and a half hours to 3 hours to reach Kuala Tahan. The fare is RM55.00 / person one way. Boats departed at 1.00 pm daily.
Visitors can also get to the National Park by road as far as 68 km with only takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Jerantut town. For those taking the train, they can stop at the Jerantut Railway Station.
Permit and License
Visitors are compulsory to obtain an entrance permit at RM1.00 per person. Fishing license costs RM10.00 per fishing rod while camera license is RM5.00 per unit.
Facilities
The park is managed by Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP), whereas the facilities and services are managed by local communities and private sectors.

There are other accommodation surrounding Kuala Tahan which include bungalows, suites, chalets, hostels and campsites outside Taman Negara are managed by local people.

Taman Negara is the most beautiful jungle in West Malaysia. Two-thirds of the country of Malaysia consists of Tropical Rainforest and Taman Negara is only a small four-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. You will find elephants, tapirs, monkeys, deer and wild boars. We also see hornbills, snakes and beautiful colored butterflies! I will take you to the Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, the only resort in the middle of the National Park. From there we take walks and boat trips to the longest Canopy Walk in the world, beautiful waterfalls and lots of wildlife! After our city trip in Kuala Lumpur and this visit to Taman Negara, we travel on to the Cameron Highlands, the 'Pearl of the Orient' Penang and the beautiful island of Langkawi!

Kuala Lipis
As a former provincial capital. this likeable town boasts many lovely colonial buildings, as well as a setting alongside the river and among some hills. Kuala Lipis (as well as Jerantut) is the best place to start a train trip north as far as Kota Bahru, or south from there. Note: trains heading SOUTH of Kuala Lipis travel during the middle of the night.
Jerantut Train Station
This train station is conveniently located in the middle of Jerantut, which is the perfect point to start/finish a journey on the 'Jungle Train' heading north, and the main base for trips to the Taman Negara national park Note: as at mid-2016, all trains south of Jerantut travel during the middle of the night.

Taman Negara (National Park) - 3D2N tour complete guide (Day1)
We took a three-day, two-night trip to Taman Negara (National Park) Malaysia. The trip was enjoyable. Among the activities are jungle trekking to Bukit Terisi and Canopy walkway, taking the boat ride to Lata Berkoh, rapid shooting at Sungai Tembiling, visiting the Aboriginal families, night jungle walk, and of course, enjoying a comfortable stay at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort.
We have divided our video into two parts. The first part is about our activities on the first day, and the second video is about what we did on the second and the third day.
