Here is my road travel adventure video from the municipality of Isulan Sultan Kudarat up to the municipality of Lebak Sultan Kudarat traversing the municipalities of Bagumbayan, Senator Ninoy Aquino, and Kalamansig Sultan Kudarat. Enjoy watching.
MOST BEAUTIFUL CAVES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Discover the beautiful caves found in Lebak:
The Tenobac Cave is an extraordinary river cave system. It is said to be several kilometers long comprising different caverns. On average, its main passage runs about 25 meters wide and 20 meters tall; however, in many areas passage dimensions can reach over 60 meters wide and 40 meters tall. It is impressive large. An array of stalactites, stalagmites and pillars of different sizes fills the cave as you explore its hidden beauty
The Setuloday Cave System is an extraordinary river cave system. Access to the cave is via two pit entrances both ~30 meters. The majority of passage within Setuloday Cave follows the course of the stream; however, areas of both entrances and several chambers are found much higher in profile, and appearing to be older. The cave has now been mapped over two expeditions yielding total a length of 1897 meters, however further exploration has seen over 2 kilometers of cave. Setuloday Cave still has leads, both up and down stream.
LOM CAVE
Lom Cave is another very impressive spring cave along the Tran River. Only one day of survey was done in Lom Cave, with 400 meters of survey complete. The team hopes to return in the future to continue documentation. Lom is a highly significant cave, and likely critical in understanding the areas hydrology. Whereas Tenobak impresses with its enormity, Lom is smaller though still sizable and much more decorated. Traversing the cave’s entire length requires wading and swimming.
POKO WAYEG SPRING CAVE
Loko Wayeg Cave system is a karst window which contains a spring and sink near the sitio of Poko Wayeg
Though neither cave in the Poko Wayeg Cave System is very long, the feature itself is quite beautiful. The hydrology of the feature is very impressive, with a 150m segment of river emerging from a cliff, turns 180 degrees and sinks close to its emergence. The caves were only visited on a reconnaissance effort. The team hopes to return to start mapping. Traversing deeper into the cave may be possible during low water.
GREGORY CAVE
Gregory Cave is a well decorated cave, with several sizable rooms connected via short crawl ways Floors are very muddy and care must be taken to not spread mud onto picturesque formations. Gregory Cave starts at a medium sized entrance about 5 wide x 2 tall (meters) with many eroded and moss-covered formations. A hort crawl leads to the first room which is well decorated with many stalactites, draperies, helicities, and flowstone. Beyond the first room there are two skylight rooms, the second of which is quite scenic. Throughout Gregory Cave formation cover the walls and shows little sign of trash or graffiti. The cave was surveyed to a total length of 188 meter.

Get ready to fall in love to one of the remarkable islands in the southern coast of Mindanao, Philippines. This beautiful island lies at the mouth of the Donaong River in Barangay Paril, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. It is the largest of the six stunning islets in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. Maguindanaons are the first inhabitants of this island, popularly known as Balot/Balut/Donaoang Island, Balet Island originated from Maguindanaon word “Balet’ which means an “island”.
Balet Island is a pristine and enchanting island renowned for its rich marine biodiversity. It has an incredible sanctuary with abounding wealth of the sea – turtles, clown fish, sea cucumbers, clams, and seashells. If you’re lucky enough you’ll catch a sight of blue whales and dolphins. These must be really on the where-to-go-list! Additionally, the exotic species of birds, plants, ivory white sand, super crystal clear water, and picturesque rock formations are truly the gems of this alluring island.
Its protected coral reef is an unbelievable grandeur which is considered as one of the best reef diving/snorkeling/kayaking sites in the Philippines. Out of 3,250 living species of Philippines Flora and Fauna, there are 32 species of Stony Corals found in Balet Island. Accordingly, only 2 stations were established during the study, on which it simply implies that there are more species thrived in the island.
Via plane – No flights available going to Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. The most convenient way to go from Manila is via Davao City, Cotabato City, or General Santos City.
Via Van – From Davao City (Bankerohan/SM Ecoland Terminal – P700); From Cotabato City (Tamontaka Terminal – P350);
Via Bus – From General Santos City to Tacurong City, then from Tacurong City take a van heading to Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat – P350.
Via Yatch – From Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat to Balet Island – P100 per head
Via Pumpboat – From Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat to Balet Island – P1,500 (Max. 10 – 15 people)
Travel Time from Davao City to Kalamansig – 7 Hours; Cotabato City/Tacurong City to Kalamansig – 3 Hours; Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat to Balet Island – 20 Minutes.

📍Mt. Akir Akir/ Agkir Agkir is located in Libungan, North Cotabato, and rises approximately 969.8736 meters (3182ft) above sea level. The mountain s a must-see for every hiker/backpacker and nature lover. 🍃🌥️☁You'll love the experience and the views. 😉 We were so lucky we experienced the sea of clouds. This hike is very memorable.
📍Hiking Panimahawa Ridge in Impalutao, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon had a chill and relaxing vibe which I love the most. You can see the view was so amazing that seems more like a painting. It really is the most visited mountain in Northern Mindanao.
📍Balot/Balut Island is located in Brgy. Paril, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. I would really love to show you more of the beauty of this Island but I'd rather want you to explore the unspoiled and enchanting Island yourself :)
📍Daday Falls or Mimbalawag Falls is derived from the name of Nur Daday who owns the land surrounding the falls. It's located at Sitio Mimbalawag, Upper Dado, Alamada, Cotabato, and is estimated to be 400ft. tall.
📍Ugis Peak, Sitio Ugis, Brgy. Marguez, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat: The Skyscraper of the South ⛰ The knife-edge, as they call it is one of the riskiest mountains we have been to yet. This peak is part of the Daguma mountain range, home to the Tedurays of Southwestern Mindanao. This is not its best look because the fog and clouds envelop us as we reached the summit. Major or minor climb? It does not matter because one should never underestimate a mountain.
