Whitest Island In Asia? #408
Whitest Island in Asia?
I’ve never seen anything like this. It seems like every Western tourist in the world comes to live in Bali. Why?
Now that I’m finally inside, I found the answer! 😅
See you tomorrow!

The past few days in Antananarivo, Madagascar have been overwhelming, intense and eye-opening. And I apologize for the delays in posting these videos -- it's been nearly impossible to find decent enough wifi.
Madagascar, as a whole, is a beautiful tropical island with stunning greenery, giant baobab trees and unique wildlife (like lemurs!). It's also massive -- about twice the size of my home state of Arizona -- floating 250 miles off the southeastern part of mainland Africa.
But putting the natural beauty aside, Madagascar is one of the World's poorest countries, with the 5th lowest GDP per capita. Walking on the streets of Antananarivo, I couldn't help but observe and analyze what I was seeing --- people just barely managing to survive, working labor-intensive jobs with very little pay.
My new local friends and I took a mini road trip to some outer villages, where I learned about the daily life of people working in the markets. Here's what I discovered.
If there's any takeaway from today (and through travel in general) -- it is to appreciate the life I live. If you are reading this as well, consider yourself lucky because you have internet, which most of the people in Madagascar cannot afford.

After traveling to every country in the world, here are my 5 LEAST FAVORITE countries based on my own personal travel experiences.
I was hesitant to make this video because of the potential negative feedback I’ll get - but I’ve always been honest and transparent from my travels, and I feel like this kind of storytelling needs to be told.
And by the way, please note that I DO NOT HATE any of these countries.
Travel is very subjective (based on one’s own personal experience) and there are many variables that can make or break your trip -- such as the weather, your health, your mood, who you meet, what you eat, and the things you do.
So all things considered, here are my 5 least favorite countries in the world (Djibouti, Chad, Guinea, Brunei and Guyana). I’d love to hear from you - have you been to any of these nations? What are your least favorite countries?

Rwanda: The Don'ts of Visiting Rwanda
Rwanda is so much more than gorillas in the mist or the legacy of the genocide from 1994. It is one of the most incredible countries you can visit in the world, with engaging people, incredible nature, and a way of showing guests the best of their country. This is what tourists should not do when they visit Rwanda. From not bringing plastic bags, to not asking about what group a Rwandan belongs to there are some important tourists don'ts to know before you visit Rwanda.

SAINT LUCIA - Most beautiful island in the world? - TRAVEL GUIDE to ALL top sights in 4K
Saint Lucia is the ultimate honeymoon destination. It has the most beautiful nature and is the absolute highlight in the middle of the Caribbean. There is also plenty to do for backpackers and traveling families. In this video I show you why every traveler should visit Saint Lucia at least once: it's just a place that can hardly be beat!
After Saint Lucia we visit many more gems in the Caribbean. Whether they will match with Saint Lucia remains to be seen! With the best views of the gigantic pitons, overnight stays in tree houses in the middle of the jungle and the most beautiful snow-white beaches, Saint Lucia is high on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world. We sleep in Soufrière, visit the Diamond Waterfalls, hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail and visit the beaches Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach and Jalousie Plantation Beach. From the west, we drive our small jeep through the rainforest to the south and east, before relaxing at an all-inclusive resort in the north.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands, Oman, Cape Verde and Martinique, Saint Lucia is our fifth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in the Caribbean and then to many more beautiful destinations! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything. Tanzania to Zambia | Dar es Salam to Nakonde Border Crossing - Muchinga
#TanzaniaToZambia #DarToNakonde #Tunduma
Christmas getaway December 2020 to Nakonde (Zambia). Travelling by bus, car and truck to and from Zambia. I didn't want to be home for the 2020 Christmas holidays. This trip was not organised in advanced it was pretty much spur of the moment. I was thinking of going to Malawi but ended up in Zambia.
Zambian people are pleasant. I was made to feel welcome everywhere I went, whether at the customs border crossing, the hotel or the random people I met that gave me directions and assisted me. Thank you to you all and thank you Zambia for having me.
If I had one criticism it would not be the people but the main road at Nakonde. It needs serious attention, it's tooooo bumby for a first impression of Zambia. I thought Zambia had a lot of Chinese what are they doing about this road?
TIPS FOR TRAVELLING TO AND FROM ZAMBIA BY ROAD, BUT THIS COULD ALSO APPLY ELSEWHERE:
THE NUMBER OF THINGS YOU NEED TO PACK WILL DEPEND ON HOW LONG YOU'RE STAYING.
ENOUGH CASH TO PAY FOR TRANSPORT, HOTEL AND BACKSHEESH!
BUSES DO NOT RUN ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT IN CERTAIN PARTS OF TANZANIA. BETTER TO PAY FOR A DECENT COACH THAN A REGULAR BUS. MOST REGULAR BUSES ARE FINE BUT SOME MAY TAKE THE BUMPY BACKROADS IN AN ATTEMPT AT AVOIDING TRAFFIC POLICE. THIS NOT ONLY MAKES THE JOURNEY UNCOMFORTABLE, ON BUMBY ROADS, BUT ALSO LONGER AND RISKIER AS THE BUS COULD BREAK DOWN & GET STUCK IN A DITCH ETC. YES IT HAPPENED TO OUR BUS.
PHONE SIGNAL MAY NOT ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE AND YOU COULD BE DRIVING FOR HOURS AT NIGHT ON THE BACK ROADS WITH NO RECEPTION, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSH, WITH STRANGERS.
BE CAREFUL IF HITCHING A RIDE AT NIGHT. I TRAVELLED ALONE BUT IT MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYBODY, ESPECIALLY FEMALES.
SOUTH OF TANZANIA CAN BE CHILLY, PACK A FLEECE AND A T-SHIRT AT LEAST. SEE IF THE HOTEL CAN GIVE YOU AN EXTRA BLANKET FOR THE NIGHT.
IF YOU CAN BE ONE OF THE FIRST IN THE QUE AND FIRST ON THE BUS THEN YOU CAN GET A WINDOW SEAT AND FILM SCENERY OTHERWISE COME LATE AND YOU WILL GET A CRAMPED ISLE SEAT AND BE SAT THERE FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR JOURNEY.
WHEN CHANGING SEATS ON THE BUS/COACH CHECK THAT YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE, I CHANGED SEAT ON MY BUS AND LEFT MY PHONE IN THE SEAT. LUCKILY A TANZANIAN WOMAN MANAGED TO LOCATE IT AND HAND IT BACK TO ME. ALMOST LOST MY NEW IPHONE 11.
I DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY ISSUES WITH PICKPOCKETS BUT I WAS TOLD TO BE CAREFUL. ALSO WATCH YOUR BAGS AND KEEP THEM CLOSE. ONE OF THE DRIVERS ATTEMPTED TO PUT MY BACKPACK IN THE BACK OF THE COACH AND I HAD TO MAKE A POINT OF MY VALUABLES BEING INSIDE.
A FL!P!N COVID CERTIFICATE WITH RECEIPT! COST £50-$150 DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU GET IT. AT THE BORDER IT IS CHEAPER BUT LAST MINUTE IS RISKY. PLUS YOU NEED AN OFFICIAL STAMP, ON THE COV CERTIFICATE, AT THE TANZANIAN BORDER.
YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION CARD! SOMETIMES.
HOTEL/AIR BNB CONFIRMATION PRINTOUT! FOR IMMIGRATION.
ITINERARY BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHERE YOU WILL BE GOING.
$50 CRISP DOLLARS FOR YOUR VISA! BOTH WAYS. DON’T HANDOVER OLD BILLS, IT CAN DELAY YOU, AS THEY DON’T TRUST THEM.
CHANGE OF CURRENCY FOR TAXI AND FOOD. YOU CAN CHANG MONEY AT THE BORDER, COME EARLY AND CHANGE IT AT THE BANK COME LATE AND THERE ARE PEOPLE ON THE STREET THAT CAN CHANGE IT FOR YOU. CHECK/COUNT YOUR MONEY.
SIM CARD AND TOP-UP VOUCHERS FOR ZAMBIA - ZAMTEL - MTN - AIRTEL ETC (TOP UP AT LEAST 40KWA).
ITEMS FOR HOTEL - SLIPPERS, TOWEL, SHAMPOO ETC AND PERHAPS A CAN OF BUG SPRAY FOR ANY COCKROACHES ETC.
10 KWACHA IS APPROXIMATELY 1000 TZS (TANZANIAN SHILLINGS).
AT DEC 2020.
HOTEL I STAYED IN IZUKANJI LODGE BUT THERE ARE OTHERS JUST ACROSS THE BORDER WHICH DO NOT SHOW UP ON THE AIR BNB APP.

10 Reasons To Visit Mauritius in 2021
10 Reasons To Visit Mauritius in 2021.
One of the most beautiful island getaways anywhere in the WORLD is located right here in AFRICA!
This tiny island paradise just east of Madagascar, off the eastern coast of Africa, is one of the most beautiful places on EARTH!
Located in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is home to only around 1 million people, despite being TWICE the size of Hong Kong. However this island paradise features beautiful weather year round, and plenty for everyone.
Mauritius more than doubles it’s population with tourists who visit each year, as in 2018 when it hosted over 1.4 million visitors, including yours truly.
Most tourists arrive by airplane, however some do arrive by boat. Mauritius is a very popular destination for many from other African countries looking for a getaway without going too far from home.
Hey, 1.4 million people a year cannot be wrong!
So let’s jump into our list of the ten reasons we think you should visit Mauritius!
10. Food
If you love food, you will love your time in Mauritius, trust me!
Mauritian cuisine is one of the most diverse in the world, with influences from French, Indian, African and Asian kitchens coming together to create its unique flavours. Be sure to scan restaurant menus for daube, fish vindaye, chicken or fish kalia (mixed with vegetables), mutton halim (a soup), a classic tomato-based chicken stew and a local take on Indian vindaloo.
You can also try Mauritian snacks such as dhal puri, a traditional flatbread filled with spicy ground split peas and served with chutney. Or try the island’s famous babonne, a fleshy white fish similar to red snapper.
9. Festivals
If you want to experience what’s said to be the largest Hindu pilgrimage outside India, plan a visit during Maha Shivaratri.
Each February, around 500,000 people make the pilgrimage on foot to Grand Bassin, a lake near which stands a giant statue of Lord Shiva.
You can also visit during Diwali, the festival of light, held every Spring, and feast on gâteau patate – sweet potato and coconut cakes made and offered as gifts between families and neighbours.
Other festivals such as Thaipusam, Ganesh Chathurthi, Ugadi and Chinese New Year are also widely celebrated and each of them gives a glimpse into the many cultures that come together to create the island of Mauritius.
8. Markets
Featuring fruit and vegetable vendors, artisans selling handicrafts, spice vendors and street-food hawkers, the markets all over the island offer a cheerful slice of Mauritian life.

Stone of Setter, Neolithic standing stone in Eday island, Orkney islands
The Stone of Setter is a Neolithic standing stone located on the island of Eday, in Orkney, Scotland. It dates to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, around the 2nd millennium BC. Outside of the Stones of Stenness, this monument is the tallest monolith in Orkney. Historic Environment Scotland established the site as a scheduled monument in 1936.

Situated 25m above sea level, in the north-central area of the island of Eday in Orkney, Scotland, the Stone of Setter overlooks Calf Sound. It is located near several burial monuments: the Vinquoy, Huntersquoy and Braeside chambered cairns. The stone is on private property, but can be seen from the road.
The Stone of Setter is an extremely tall sandstone monolith of irregular shape. It dates to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, probably around 2nd millennium BC. It measures approximately 4.5 m in height, 2.1 m in width, and the stone varies in thickness from 0.9 m at the base to 0.35 m at the center. It is deeply weathered with heavy vertical lines and stands in its original placement. The monolith sits on the south edge of a circular platform 10 m in diameter, and 0.2 m in height. Outside of the Stones of Stenness, this monument is the tallest monolith in Orkney. Historic Environment Scotland established the site as a scheduled monument in 1936.

5 things you HAVE to do in Minsk 🇧🇾
Belarus has been a controversial country during the Coronavirus pandemic, not shutting down like their European neighbours, then recently being accused of kidnapping journalist Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend after redirecting a Ryanair flight en route to Vilnius from Athens.
But don’t be put off by all the media coverage, as Belarus is a great country to visit. I went on a city break to its capital, Minsk, and got to experience the best of what it had to offer. So, if you’re going to the Belarusian capital, it’s time to start putting together your itinerary - just make sure to include these five things you have to do in Minsk.

This is how the source of the world's Longest R. Nile in Jinja looks like. #Uganda #Jinja
The Nile River flows over 6,600 kilometers (4,100 miles) until emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. For thousands of years, the river has provided a source of irrigation to transform the dry area around it into lush agricultural land. Today, the river continues to serve as a source of irrigation, as well as an important transportation and trade route. The Nile River flows from south to north through eastern Africa. It begins in the rivers that flow into Lake Victoria (located in modern-day Uganda, #Tanzania, and #Kenya), and empties into the Mediterranean Sea more than 6,600 kilometers (4,100 miles) to the north, making it one of the longest river in the world. The Nile River was critical to the development of ancient Egypt. In addition to Egypt, the Nile runs through or along the border of 10 other African countries, namely, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. Its three main tributaries are the White Nile, the Blue Nile, and the Atbara. The soil of the Nile River delta between El Qâhira (Cairo) and the Mediterranean Sea is rich in nutrients, due to the large silt deposits the Nile leaves behind as it flows into the sea. The banks of the Nile all along its vast length contain rich soil as well, thanks to annual flooding that deposits silt. From space, the contrast between the Nile's lush green river banks and the barren desert through which it flows is obvious.
