Nestled in the heart of the Great Lakes region, the Midwest state of Michigan lies on the border with Canada. Home to more than 12,000 lakes and more beaches than the country’s entire Atlantic coastline, it’s made up of two large peninsulas and several scenic and secluded islands. While the state is defined by its wealth of waterways, much of it is coated in endless forests and wilderness. As such, there are loads of great outdoor activities to be enjoyed, with hiking, camping and sailing all popular. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Michigan.
Pikes Peak State Park in Iowa/ Park tour/ RV camping/ road trip 2020
Pikes Peak State Park is an excellent place to visit by yourself, with your family, or with friends; It's a great park with great views! They have hummingbirds, they did set up a couple of feeders and we couldn't believe how many were flying around. The main overlook has a beautiful view of the Mississippi River, and It is a very easy walk from your car to the Overlook, it is suitable for any age and ability. The campsites are very close also. If you take the Bridal Veil Trail it goes to Bridal falls, it is a small natural waterfall and very pretty. Most people turn around and go back from there, but we continued on the Hickory Ridge Trail that led us back to the park store and parking area. The trails were maintained and has a lot of steps.
McGregor town is the closest one to Pikes Peak State Park about 2.5 miles away, enjoy the small unique businesses in the historic downtown, and experience one-of-a-kind gift shops. We had ice cream in a little Switzerland inn and got a bag full of handmade soap from Cabin fever soaps, they have really affordable prices and we had fun picking and smelling soaps and chatting to the lovely owner. I'll leave her website here to check it out.

Have you ever wondered what the smallest towns in your state were like? This is my 7th video of this type previously doing Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. And I have to say the smallest towns from Iowa stack up with the best I've seen. These are all legitimate towns with a form of government ranging from a population of 26 at the highest to 11 at the lowest. There is a lot of interesting history throughout this video as to why they are as small as they are. I had a blast driving around the state, and I hope you enjoy the trip as well! Great job Iowa!
