This Small Indiana Town Might Surprise You: Madison, Indiana 5K.

Madison, Indiana is located about halfway between Cincinnati and Louisville along the Ohio River. Clifty Falls State Park is in town and it has 4 different water falls inside the park. Madison is town that stands out in the otherwise poverty stricken, Ohio River Valley, as it shows what value historic preservation can do for a place to make it stand out from the rest. Not only is it a nice, charming small town along a river, but there are hardly any abandoned buildings throughout the town. Madison also has a history that rivals most other major Midwestern cities. Towards the end of the video I visit Hanover, Indiana which is home to Hanover College.

The Geode Grotto is a testament of one mans faith, devotion and determination. It is absolutely something unusual and worth a visit! The site covers 4 city blocks, and uses thousands of geodes, from nearby Heltonville, Indiana. Built over 10 years, from 1960 to 1970, it became a community project, with neighbors donating their time, to help Father Phllip Ottavi, realize his vision of an outdoor place of worship. As one worker put it, “There were no blueprints, just inspiration”.

Truly remarkable, and free to visit! It is a place of worship, so if someone is there praying, please be respectful.
