Three Border Point | Border of Netherlands, Germany, Belgium 🇳🇱 🇩🇪 🇧🇪 | Aachen Cathedral Germany

The three border point (Drielandenpunt) is the point where the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Germany 🇩🇪 and Belgium 🇧🇪 meet. At a height of 323m, it is also the highest point of mainland Netherlands. 😊

After visiting the tripoint, we also visited the nearby German city - Aachen. The Aachen cathedral is one of the oldest cathedrals in Europe. We had a great time exploring the cathedral and the Aachen city.

Vliegen over Nederland in 1938, Deel-2. Flying over the Netherlands, Part-2 in 1938 in color!

This is Part-2 of a highly interesting film that shows The Netherlands from the air more than 80 years ago in 1938. Currently I am trying to retrieve the description of the locations, but the new search engine in the Beeld En Geluid archives has made this almost an impossible task.
If anyone recognizes certain locations then please include that in a comment.
From a historic perspective this film has a lot too offer because a lot has changed since 1938, due to destruction during World War II and many new developments.
The film contains spectacular footage of the city of Den Haag (The Hague) with its houses of parliament, the big church and the old city.

Notes: Some flickering of the film is caused by the propellor; this can not be corrected with software. These fragments are in random order because there is no logic in the route that the plane seems to follow.

Part-1 of this film is here:

Hoensbroek, the Netherlands: Exploring a Dutch castle in the middle of nowhere

Rob found a castle only 30 minutes from our AirBNB in Heerlen in a small town called Hoensbroek. What we thought would be an hour of pictures and mediocre views was three hours of exploration and fun. There was so much to explore in the castle - we went up the tower, almost got locked up in the dungeon, sympathised with the peasants of olden times in the servants' quarters, marvelled at the tapestries of the nobles' quarters, played with the best collection of old-fashioned board games I've ever seen, and we even heard a tale of how a secret room helped one man outsmart the French army.

Hoensbroek heette aanvankelijk Broek of Broich, hetgeen 'moeras' betekent.

Heerlen Netherlands- Heather, Castles & Art

New Amsterdam Travel Video- We discovered the secrets of Heerlen by accident. Last summer we booked an AirBnb there because of its pretty setting on a private lake. By renting ebikes and exploring, we discovered that there is lots to do if you're into nature, art, history or family friendly fun. We hiked in the Brunssummerheide and Tevernerheide parks; we biked to some castles; found plenty of street art in the city center; and visited some attractions like Mondo Verde Landgraaf. This is another great area of the Netherlands to visit and enjoy. #heerlen #mondoverde #castles

BOOK THIS CASTLE:

We took a little staycation from Amsterdam and stayed in a castle near Amsterdam, just a short ride from the Utrecht train station. Book a room in a castle built in 1904 with a garden view (not our room!). It's easy to get to by train from Amsterdam and also easy to arrive by car.

They have a lovely restaurant, a nice and peaceful wooded area, and is a perfect quirky places to stay for a quiet night away from it all.

Limburg, Netherlands | City of Maastricht, Hasselt, Genk | Drone 4k video | Province of Limburg

Limburg, Netherlands. Traveling brings tremendous pleasure and rich experience to every person. Only coming to new places you can feel all the beauty and richness. That's just the Netherlands is such a country, after watching a video about which, shot in high quality, an understanding of the versatility and natural beauty immediately comes. Videos made by a drone in 4K quality, from a bird's eye view, reveal a piece of beauty, and immerse yourself in the world of the province of Limburg, which is worthy of a tourist visit at any time of the year.

general information
Limburg is a Dutch province, which is partly located simultaneously in two parts - Belgium and the Netherlands. Quite an interesting province that can boast of its tourism potential, as it combines the history and culture of two countries at the same time. It is also worth noting that Limburg has the architectural heritage of the Renaissance, which brings the region the bulk of its income (tourists visiting places of interest).

Capital
The capital of the province of Limburg is the beautiful place of Maastricht, located on the banks of the Meuse River, and at the same time bordering Belgium and Germany. The city is a major tourist center that attracts many tourists to itself, it is here that the oldest bridge over the river is located, as well as the town hall building, ships built in the 15th century in the Baroque style, fortification walls, military buildings, which to this day are tourist attractions. attraction.

Climate
The climate in the region is mild, temperate, in winter it is quite humid and damp, the average temperature does not exceed +9 degrees, and in spring and summer it starts to be warm, but with occasional rains, and the air temperature is quite comfortable, + 20 degrees.

Nature (landscapes, beautiful places)
The territory of Limburg is also rich in natural attractions, there are national parks that are available for tourists to visit:
De Grote Pel National Park
De Masduinen National Park
De Meinweg National Park
Walserberg, is the highest point in Holland, and is just located in the province of Limburg.

Main cities: Maastricht, Hasselt, Genk
Maastricht - the youngest university in the country is located in the city, and it is in the Maastricht Museum that all the precious materials and treasures of the Netherlands of all times and eras are collected. The city is quite pleasant, atmospheric for a comfortable life for both local people and tourists.
Hasselt is a city that belongs territorially to the Belgian part, and is its important transport hub. The city has a chic Japanese garden, which attracts tourists with its unique landscape, where Japanese cherries, apricots, bonsai, and a gin museum are planted on 2.5 hectares.
Genk is a fairly young city in the province, and at the same time a fairly powerful industrial center, where coal is mined and mechanical engineering is carried out.

What to see
The spirit of history and culture hovers in the province of Limburg, the main part of the museums that will be of interest to tourists are located in Maastricht, for those who want to relax in silence in nature, it is ideal to visit the Kasteel Hoensbroek castle, as well as its territory with a beautiful garden, listen to the excursion program.
Drive to the city of Langrave and see the Mondo Verde garden with designer sculptures, landscaping, and a waterfall of unique beauty.
For family holidays in Maastracht there is an amusement park with the Steinerbos zoo, as well as Kasteelpark Born, a park where a variety of animals live and the territory is beautifully decorated.

Attractions
Among the main attractions of the province, it is worth highlighting:
Basilica of Saint Servatius;
Church of St. John, and the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary;
Castles Arsene, Hohensbrook, Chaloen, Viilre, Nederhoven, Millen;
The city of Sint-Petersberg with long tunnels where you can visit and touch the ancient times, when the locals hid during the war.
Caves Pietersberg Caves, with beautiful impressive grottoes;
Also in every town in the province there are beautiful streets, museums, and parks for family recreation, where you can have a good time learning something new.

Netherlands Utrecht, Nederlands Volksbuurt museum

Almost everything is based on Utrecht (district C) (name before 2011 was Volksbuurtmuseum Wijk C). That's not a bad thing, but because of Dutch you expect to see different working-class neighbourhoods. Only a movie that is told by the same people in unadulterated 030, 010 (??) and 020 (??). No success. There is a nice interactive alley from around 1920 where you have to see if you can come out with a budget. Unfortunately you have to go half way to the 1st floor (because of the layout of this old community center) and you are out of the story. With a lot of objects (handcarts), scale model and photos stories are told, which makes it very nice. They also show many photos (slide) but because of this you could not admire the drugstore (dark). To me, it's more of a Utrecht People's Neighborhood Museum and I really liked that despite the unfortunate layout.
