I call it an epic because I've never made a video this long. On this teaching assignment in a small city in Myanmar, Jack and I make the most of our Sunday off. Visiting a forest, traversing a country road, finding a quirky Buddhist temple compound, going completely off the map and just hoping the roads will lead us to our goal, Du Ya.
Scenic Myanmar Countryside From Pathein To Yegyi Train Journey Part 1 in 4K
Today, September 16th, 2019, the weather in Pathein is fair and good to travel. My childhood friend and I decided to take a train journey to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Myanmar countryside.
We decided half a day ride from Pathein to Yegyi and return.
We took the early morning express train, leaving Pathein at 5:30 AM. I have not had train travel in Myanmar for a long long time.
Most people said Myanmar’s train system tends to be unpredictable, especially the further away tracks go from Yangon. Expected arrival and departure times almost always vary, often by hours. Our train arrived and departed on time in all stations.
We bought the tickets at the train station on the day of travel. We decided to travel on the upper class the fare is K1200.00 per person including the travel insurance. The national identity document is essential to buy the ticket. The seat comes with a simple wooden bench.
The speed of the train is between 20 and 25 miles per hour and it is very good for me to take video throughout the journey. The train passes by tall palm trees, banana plants, rural villages and green paddy field beyond the horizon.

Irrawaddy Second Defile: From Mandalay to Bahmaw (Bamo) - Part 1
This is the second defile of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy (Irrawaddy) River.
It is located below Bhamaw, where the river makes a sharp westward swing, leaving the Bhamaw alluvial basin to cut through the limestone rocks of the second defile. This defile is about 90 metres (300 ft) wide at its narrowest and is flanked by vertical cliffs about 60 to 90 metres (200--300 ft) high.
This video was taken from the view of the Road of Mandalay River Cruise. Its scenic beauty and hard-to-reach location attracts hundreds of tourists a year.

Pathein City Myanmar - Street View
Pathein, formerly called Bassein, is the largest city and the capital of the Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. It is located 190 km (120 mi) west of Yangon on the bank of the Pathein River (Bassein), which is a western branch of the Irrawaddy River. Lying at the western edge of the Ayeyarwady River delta, on the Pathein (Ngawan) River 118 miles (190 km) west of Yangon, Pathein is accessible to large vessels and despite its distance from the ocean, it is the most important delta port outside of Yangon. The city is also a terminus of a branch of the main railroad line which connects it to Hinthada, Letpadan and Yangon.

The Ayeyarwadyis a river running through Burma (Myanmar). It is the largest river of the state (about 2170 kilometers long) and the channel most important commercial waterway, with a bed of approximately 411,000 km². The names Irrawaddy and Ayeyarwady are believed to have derived either from the Sanskrit name Iravati, a sacred river and minor goddess in Indian mythology, or from her son Airavata, the elephant mount of Indra. It arises by the confluence of the N'mai and Mali Rivers in Kachin State Kachin. Both the N'mai and Mali Rivers find their sources in the Himalaya glaciers of Northern Myanmar. The delta of the Irrawaddy begins about 58 miles (93 km) above Hinthada (Henzada) and about 180 miles.

Shwe Nat Taung Pagoda is a small pagoda, temple, but this view of sunset is so beautiful. If you have a time, I recommend you to go to. It takes a time for 20 mins from Mawlamyine city.
There are some good view points near this pagoda. Pa-Auk Forest Meditation Center, Win Sein Taw Ya, Reclining Big Buddha, Sitting Big Buddha.
