2022 road trip Hibbing Minnesota USA town and High School street view 美國明尼蘇達州 希丙高中 老城
2022 4 days short road trip to Minnesota USA, and I drove up to Hibbing where I used to go to Hibbing high school there for 1 year. Not much change and not much people walking around in the town as usual. Too bad the grand high school was closed on Sunday. Otherwise I'd give a tour inside!! It doesn't look like a school at all.

Empire Builder Day Trip & Night Hiking! - Winona MN
It’s disappointing that our time in Winona got cut short due to the Empire Builder being delayed by freight trains, but we still made the most of it! It’s a trip we’ll have to attempt again at some point in the future, and hopefully be able to do more next time around.
Sugar Loaf Bluff is one of the most iconic trails in Winona, and even with the sun setting, we encountered a few other people on the trail. We mentioned in the video that it’s a 1.2 mile out-and-back, and just wanted to clarify that it’s 1.2 miles total, just over a half mile each way.
Tours-TV.com: Hull-Rust-Mahoning Mine in Hibbing
Hull-Rust-Mahoning Mine is one of the largest open pit iron mines in the world, once supplying one-fourth of all the iron ore mined in the country; today it is a National Historic Landmark. United States : Minnesota. See on map .
Hibbing: The Little Town That Stood
My team and I did this video for National History Day my senior year. I spent over 200 hours on the video production and we advanced to State Finals with it. We ended up getting in the Top 8 and we got a cash prize from the Minnesota Historical Society.
Enjoy.

💡 The Hull Rust facts
✔ The Hull–Rust–Mahoning Open Pit Iron Mine in Hibbing, is the largest operating open-pit iron mine in Minnesota, and one of the world's largest open pit iron mines
✔ The area’s very first mining lease was awarded to Frank Hibbing in 1891
✔ Iron ore mining began in 1892
✔ Although named the Mahoning-Hull-Rust Mine, this large open pit actually consisted of over 30 separate mines both open pit and underground
✔ In 1920, the Village of Hibbing was moved 2 miles south so that the underground mining operation could become open pit mining. Six blocks of Old North Hibbing became part of the mine
✔ The combined Hull Rust Mahoning Mine and the Hibbing Taconite open pit covers 5,000 acres
✔ The maximum length of the pit is 8 miles, east to west
✔ The maximum width of the open pit is 3.5 miles, north to south
✔ More than 1.4 billion tons of earth has been moved from the Hull Rust site, about the equivalent of digging a narrow tunnel from Minnesota through the center of the Earth, and out the side!
✔ More than 800 million tons of iron ore have been shipped from the Hull Rust Mahoning complex
✔ At peak production in the 1940s, as much as one-quarter of the ore mined in the U.S. came from the Hull Rust pit
✔ The Mahoning Mine was the region’s first open pit mine, replacing the more dangerous underground mining methods
✔ Most weeks around 11 am, Hibbing Taconite fires a blast to break iron ore and rock

Defunct Civil War Museum in Kentucky - Florence Y’all, Greyhound Tavern + Tiny Chapel
This video features what I was able to show of the now-defunct James A. Ramage Civil War Museum in Fort Wright, Kentucky. This small Civil War museum at a historic location closed just months after my visit. Thankfully I was able to get some documentation of this museum before they told me not to take photos!
After that, I ate at the historic Greyhound Tavern on the Dixie Highway in Fort Mitchell, then visited the Monte Cassino Chapel at Thomas More College. Then, I embraced the wonderful motto of Florence, Kentucky - Florence Y'all at the iconic water tower and a new Looney Tunes-inspired mural.
RIP James A. Ramage Civil War Museum!

International Falls, MN | A 4K City Walking Tour
International Falls, MN is located on the Rainy River directly across from Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada. The two cities are connected by the Fort Frances–International Falls International Bridge. Voyageurs National Park is located 11 miles east of International Falls. There is a major U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port of Entry on the International Falls side of the toll bridge and a Canadian Customs entry point on the north side of the bridge. International Falls is nicknamed the Icebox of the Nation,” with an average of 109.4 days per year with a high temperature below 32 °F (0 °C).
The area now known as International Falls was inhabited by many indigenous peoples. The International Falls area was well known to explorers, missionaries, and voyagers as early as the 17th century. It was not until April 1895 that the community was platted by L. A. Ogaard, a teacher and preacher for the Koochiching Company, and named Koochiching. The word “Koochiching” comes from either the Ojibwe word Gojijiing or the Cree Kocicīhk, both meaning “at the place of inlets,” referring to the neighboring Rainy Lake and River. The European inhabitants gave the names Rainy Lake and Rainy River to the nearby bodies of water because of the mist-like rain present at the falls where the lake flowed into the river. On August 10, 1901, the village was incorporated and two years later its name was changed to International Falls in recognition of the river's role as a border between the United States and Canada. It was incorporated as a city in 1909.
