Australia Travel Guide 2023 - Best Places to Visit in Australia - Melbourne Australia - Sydney Places
Australia is a country located in the Southern Hemisphere, comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the sixth-largest country in the world by total area. The nation is surrounded by the Indian and Pacific Oceans and shares maritime borders with Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and New Zealand.
Here are some key facts about Australia:
Capital: Canberra
Largest City: Sydney
Population: As of my last update in September 2021, Australia's population was around 25 million people. Please note that this number may have changed since then.
Official Language: English
Government: Australia is a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy. It has a parliamentary system of government with a monarch as the head of state and a Prime Minister as the head of government.
Currency: Australian Dollar (AUD)
Time Zones: Australia spans multiple time zones due to its vast geographical extent. The time zones range from UTC+5:00 to UTC+11:00.
Australia is known for its unique wildlife, with various species found nowhere else in the world, such as kangaroos, koalas, and platypuses. The country's diverse landscapes include famous landmarks like the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef system, and the iconic Ayers Rock (also known as Uluru). The coastal regions are home to stunning beaches, while the interior consists of arid deserts and vast, sparsely populated areas.

Note: Please check your YouTube settings for better quality viewing.
It was a great, sunny day for a walk in a nice and peaceful suburb of Balwyn in the easter suburbs of Melbourne. It is very close to the city, approximately 10 km from CBD. You can catch tram 109 from Collins Street in the city to get to Balwyn. Balwyn is one of the most affluent suburbs in Melbourne or Victoria.
This suburb is close to Box Hill where I used to live so I would go for coffee or brunch here sometimes. I really liked the area and don't mind living here.
Unwind, relax and enjoy. Join me in exploring Balwyn.

Heidelberg West, Victoria from above: Northland SC, Olympic Village // #comingupforair
Heidelberg West (population 5,251 during 2021 census) is a Melbourne suburb located 10-12 km north-east of the CBD. Heidelberg West was the site of the 1956 Olympic Games Village for athletes. Following the completion of the games, the area was transformed into a Housing Commision of Victoria estate, and in subsequent years, residences are now being sold into private ownership. In this video, you will also see vistas of Northland Shopping Centre, the Melbourne skyline plus the redevelopment of the Olympic Village sporting grounds into a full-on precinct.

Chinatown is a distinctive and well-known area of Melbourne which dates back to the gold rush days of the 1850s. The main focus is along Little Bourke Street with alleys that link the area to Bourke Street and Lonsdale Street. This is the Little Bourke entrance from Swanston Street.

Melbourne Australia - TravelMovies
Melbourne is the capital and most populous city in the state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia, after Sydney.
Today, it is a centre for the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, sport and tourism. It is the birthplace of cultural institutions such as Australian film (as well as the world's first feature film), Australian television, Australian rules football, the Australian impressionist art movement (known as the Heidelberg School) and Australian dance styles (such as New Vogue and the Melbourne Shuffle). It is also a major centre for contemporary and traditional Australian music. It is often referred to as the cultural capital of Australia. Melbourne has also been ranked as one of the top three World's Most Livable Cities by the Economist Group's Intelligence Unit (since 2002),
Music by Max Trax
The West Heidelberg Olympic Village
Melbourne is home to a very special suburb - one that was purpose-built for the 1956 Olympic Games. West Heidelberg almost never existed, but ended up playing an integral role before, during and after the so-called 'Friendly Games'.
Please excuse the varying quality of the modern day video. My Gopro decided to have a moment halfway through shooting so I had to use my iPhone to capture the remaining film.
