What is Fine Art Landscape Photography? | Hartland Quay

What is fine art photography? I look at that question in the photo vlog today at Hartland Quay.
For my landscape photography, follow me on Instagram at @brendanvanson.
After my photography trip ended a couple days ago, my string of assignments is basically over for a bit. So, I wanted to go out and do some me trips. I especially wanted to do a road trip out to Cornall to do some shooting.
I stopped at Hartland Quay to do some fine art landscape photography just before arriving in Cornwall. It such a cool spot, and a great place to talk about the difference between fine art photography and travel photography.
Essentailly, fine art photography is when you're trying to sell the image as art. Travel photography is when you're trying to use the photo to sell the destination or experience. At Hartland Quay, I shot the former. And, though I'm a travel photographer by trade it was fun to shoot some fine art photography for a change.
Hartland Quay really is a cool place. And though I didn't get good light, it's the type of seascape that I think you could basically photograph in any light and it looks cool. It's nature alone that looks like art.
For this fine art landscape photography tutorial, I kind of focused on simplifying my shots. I even flipped some stuff to black and white which I really rarely do. But, it was so fitting at Hartland Quay.
Tomorrow on the photography channel, I head into Cornwall for a day full of landscape photography. I'm planning on hitting some cool spots. So, hopefully the light cooperates.
