Hancheng Hotel
Central South University and Yuelu Mountain are within a 20 minute drive from the Hancheng Hotel. Under 10 minutes drive away are some great attractions such as the West Lake Restaurant and Helong Stadium, and conveniently there is complimentary private parking available at the Hancheng Hotel should you need it. Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) is a 40 minute drive from the hotel. There is a beauty salon and a beauty centre within the hotel building. Changsha city centre is within a 20 minute drive.
Walk in Hancheng Lake Park, a beautiful park with Han Dynasty City Wall Relic Site ｜China｜西安｜汉城湖
Hancheng Lake Park is located in Weiyang District, Xi ‘an, Shaanxi Province, 200 meters south of the cross road of Fengcheng Fourth Road and Zhuhong Road, the former Tuanjie reservoir (ancient canal), the widest water is 80 meters, the narrowest 30 meters, water depth 4 to 6 meters. It is opened in 2011.
In addition to beautiful natural landscapes, it houses many heritage sites dating from as far back as the Han Dynasty (202 B.C. - 220A.C.) and architecture built in Han style. In 129 BC, Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC to 9 AD)accepted the advice of Zheng Dangshi, the minister of finance at that time, to dig the first official transportation channel. The project took tens of thousands of soldiers three years to finish under the supervision of Xu Bo, a famous hydraulic master of the Han Dynasty.The channel extended more than 150 km from the Kunming Lake southwest of Chang'an city, passing the southeast of the Han Chang'an city (north of present day Xi'an), merged with the Chanhe and Bahe rivers, and flowed eastward alongside the Weihe River to enter the Yellow River. It played an important role in transporting military supplies for Chang'an city.
Hancheng Lake has seven major themed areas: The Heavenly World, Bacheng Gate Wonders, Waterside Town, Domains of the Han Empire, Fu'ang Gate Landscapes, The Han Glamour, and Anmen Prosperity. The southeast corner of Han Dynasty Chang'an City Wall relic site is located in here. And there is a 21.5 meter (70 feet) tall statue of Emperor Wu of Western Han in the park. The substrate of 7 meters (23 feet) high means he is the seventh emperor of the Western Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - 24 A.D). There is Four Han-Style Watchtowers, which is a landmark building of Hancheng Lake Park. In Waterwheel Square, there are two huge waterwheels in Han Dynasty style. In the elm garden of the Hancheng Lake Park stands a “Sacred Yellow Elm”. It is a kind of rare species of tree with a history of nearly a thousand years, which can be named “the king of the elm”.The Shangwu Bridge is one of the landmark bridges in Hancheng Lake Park. Its main body is carved with four gilded dragons, representing the stateliness of Emperor Wu from the Han Dynasty. The most well-known attraction is Dafeng Pavilion with a height of 64 meters (70 yards).It has museums of Bovine’s Culture and Ceramics, 3D Theater, Silk Road Museum, Gallery of Han Culture, Exhibition of World Heritage of Wooden Handicraft, Hall of Han Dynasty’s Clothing, Exhibition of Military Campaign. On the top floor of Dafeng Pavilion, you can overview the Hancheng Lake Park.There is also a Gods’ Platform. It was originally built by Emperor Wu in order to welcome the gods and pray for peace and prosperity.In the Sculpture Square, you can see a 200 meters (218 yards) long sculpture, which is the largest sculpture in Xi'an and it depicts the major events from the Han Dynasty. People can learn the greatness and prosperity of the Western Han Culture and Civilization.
At night, at its food quarterHan Cheng Da Ji, you can enjoy the fantastic street foods as well as the live music performed by local bands.

Walk in Hancheng, a renowned historic city nearly Xi'an｜China｜韩城｜陕西｜4K HDR｜2021
Hancheng is about 230 kilometers (143 miles) away from the capital city Xi'an, which has a history well over 3,000 years. It is a renowned historic city and contains numerous historic mansions and streets as well as over 140 protected historical sites.
It is the hometown of the great cultural and historical celebrity - Sima Qian, a Western-Han historian. In the early years of Spring and Autumn Period & Warriors States Period(770 BC–221 BC), Confucius' favorite student, Xia, came here to give speeches, thus it was very popular to run schools in Hancheng at that time and people were well educated. Hancheng was called Mini Beijing during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), because numerous of courtyard dwelling in the city and the prosperous economy during that period, just like those in Beijing.
Hancheng could be called a natural ancient architecture museum. There are more than 140 ancient architectural buildings from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and 27 historical sites among which 20 of Yuan Dynasty (1271 --- 1368). The Siheyuan (courtyard dwellings ) of Ming and Qing dynasties can be easily found everywhere in the city.
The national cultural relics protection units include Confucius Temple, Sima Qian Temple, Dang Village, etc., and other natural scenery such as the Dragon Gate (Longmen) Scene Area, are must-sees!
I visited Hancheng in fall and was very attracted by its cultures and history.

Wuyi Mountain, located at the junction of northwest Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province, forms the watershed between the lower tributaries of the Yangtze River in the north and the Minjiang River Basin in Fujian Province in the south; it is the highest mountain range in southeastern China, known as the Roof of East China; it has more than 110 There are 1,000-meter peaks (the highest peak, Huanggang Mountain, is 2,158 meters above sea level). Wuyi Mountain has a forest belt with basically complete diversity. The area has no less than 35 ancient Confucian academies from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty (10th to 19th centuries), which provided a good environment for the development and spread of Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism. In addition, the area contains numerous tomb sites, cliff carvings and caves containing wooden ship coffins dating back to the Shang Dynasty, more than 60 Taoist temple and monastery ruins, and the administrative capital established by Han Dynasty rulers in the 1st century AD , all of great archaeological value.

This is the movie my father made back in the summer of 2005 when I visited China with my family. I was 18 and had just finished high school and I didn't really like my dad filming that much, but looking back, now I can see why he did it. He made some great shots and was able to really capture the feeling of that awesome trip!
