In this video I talk about the things that make a good station and present examples of what and what not to do. Currency

Britain’s currency is the pound sterling (£), which is divided into 100 pence (p).

Scotland has its own pound sterling notes. These represent the same value as an English note and can be used elsewhere in Britain. The Scottish £1 note is not accepted outside Scotland.

There are lots of bureaux de change in Britain – often located inside:

• banks
• travel agents
• Post Offices
• airports
• major train stations.

It's worth shopping around to get the best deal and remember to ask how much commission is charged.

Time Difference
During the winter months, Britain is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 10 hours behind Sydney. Western standard time is five hours behind.

From late March until late October, the clocks go forward one hour to British Summer Time (BST).

To check the correct time, contact the Speaking Clock service by dialling 123.

Weight And Measurements

Britain is officially metric, in line with the rest of Europe. However, imperial measures are still in use, especially for road distances, which are measured in miles. Imperial pints and gallons are 20 per cent larger than US measures.

1 inch = 2.5 centimetres
1 foot = 30 centimetres
1 mile = 1.6 kilometres
1 ounce = 28 grams
1 pound = 454 grams
1 pint = 0.6 litres
1 gallon = 4.6 litres

1 centimetre = 0.4 inch
1 metre = 3 feet 3 inches

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK

Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:

If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.

If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).

Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.

European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.

If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.
Anyone that has any questions, please feel free the comment below and I will answer them for you.

You can dial 999 to reach either the police, fire and ambulance departments.

THE GAP AT SUNSET - ALBANY WA

Located in Torndirrup National Park, around 400kms south of Perth and 6kms south of Albany, Western Australia is The Gap and Natural Bridge. An area described as daring stainless steel walkways and lookouts. Cantilevered 10 metres out from the cliff face and almost 40 metres above the ocean, The Gap is an incredible structure that provides a number of spectacular views over the ocean.
During our WA road trip in March 2019, we visited the Gap at sunset. We had the place pretty much to ourselves and were treated to amazing WA sunset skies. Don't overlook visiting this beautiful part of Australia.
