Hadleigh is an ancient market town and civil parish in South Suffolk, East Anglia, situated, next to the River Brett, between the larger towns of Sudbury and Ipswich. The headquarters of Babergh District Council are located in the town, which at the 2011 census had a population of 8,253.
Guthrum, King of the Danes, is said to be buried in the grounds of St Mary's Church in the town. He was defeated by King Alfred at the battle of Edington in 878. Hadleigh received its market charter in 1252. In 1438 administration was passed from manorial control to trustees. The market was eventually sold to Babergh District Council in the late 20th century.
Hadleigh was one of the East Anglian towns that derived its prosperity from its wool and cloth industries. It has a 15th-century timber-framed Guildhall and many fine examples of timber and brick listed buildings, some with highly detailed 17th century plasterwork or pargeting. Most of these buildings can be found in the High Street, Angel Street, Benton Street and the immediately surrounding area.
The town has a total of 246 listed buildings. The Georgian East House, on George Street, has been designated a Grade II listed building since 26 April 1950. In March 2013 plans by Babergh District Council to redevelop the site and build houses on the land behind were withdrawn after strong local protest. The property was once used for a range of community events and activities. Opponents of the plan had argued that the adjacent land had been used as a village green for the last 20 years.
The annual Hadleigh Show, first held in 1840 and also known as 'the May Show', is one of the oldest one-day agricultural shows in East Anglia. Organised by the Hadleigh Farmers' Agricultural Association, the show enjoyed 12,500 visitors in 2013. Benton End House, a Grade II* listed building on Benton Street, was originally a large medieval farmhouse. From 1940 it was the home of Sir Cedric Morris, artist and plantsman, who formed the East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing there.
The Ansell Community Centre was set up in 2004 as a charity with the object of providing community facilities for the people of Hadleigh and surrounding area. Hadleigh has a Non-League football club Hadleigh United F.C. who play at Millfield.

Welcome back to another video from Spottersuk, Today we're Hadley Wood on the East Coast Mainline where we will be seeing services from Great Northern, Thameslink and LNER. Hadley Wood also hold services from Hull Trains and Grand Central but they do not feature in this video. Hadley Wood has always been a station that i have wanted to visit, and i have said that Quite a few times in recent weeks. However, due to the removal of the Intercity 225 Sets i felt as if i needed to have a shot at Seeing a set fly through the Station and luckily that is exactly what happened with 91119 Hauling a service bound for Kings Cross flies through the station at High Speeds which i have always wanted to see.
I'd like to give a Big shoutout to all the legendary drivers in this video as there are a lot of them! Hadley Wood is popular with Train Enthusiasts and the Drivers are aware of that so they’re extremely kind and Generous when it comes to tones.

Train Service From Moorgate To Welwyn Garden City Calling At Hadley Wood
ECML Episode 1: Hadley Wood 07/02/2022
This is part one in a series of videos highlighting the east coast main line, the series will highlight all of the different traction and services on the main line itself, and other corridors around it serving the nearby towns and cities.
This series makes it’s start in Hadley Wood, on the outskirts of Greater London. Hadley Wood station is situated on the section of 4 track main line between London Kings Cross and Welwyn Garden City.
Almost all services travel fast through Hadley Wood, Including both the Express ECML services provided by LNER, the open access services by Grand Central, Hull trains and LUMO, and the commuter services by both Thameslink and Great northern. The only trains to stop at the station are the twice hourly stoppers between Moorgate and Welwyn Garden City.
Hadley Wood is one of the best places to spot trains on the ECML within London, as by the time trains go through Hadley Wood they are able to attain speeds of upwards of 100 mph.
This is Episode one of the series, Episode two will see trains on the north side of York station. Including both Northern and Trans Pennine Express services and more LNER and Grand Central.
This is also the first series I will make to be filmed with my new Sony A6600 camera, which I am going to use as a standard for my future videos, along with my current Iphone 12 camera.

Dale End Park Walk, Coalbrookdale, Telford in June 2020 in 4K
Coalbrookdale is a village in the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire, England, containing a settlement of great significance in the history of iron ore smelting. It lies within the civil parish called the Gorge. This is where iron ore was first smelted by Abraham Darby using easily mined coking coal.
I was planning to go to Ironbridge directly but because of the roadwork near the Ironbridge, I have to park my car near Dale End Park. I first went to the Dale End Park to enjoy the beautiful scenery on a bright sunny day. I then went to the Ironbridge.
