北京路是中國廣東省廣州市越秀區一條集文化、娛樂、商業於一體的街道，是廣州市有史以來最繁華的商業中心，日均人流量約35萬人次。北京路北起廣衛路，南到沿江中路，全長1,500多公尺。
舊時的北京路，是廣州大南門（今北京路、大南路口）內外的一條南北向主要街道。宋代滅南漢後，拆南城牆，將南城沿至江邊，建「雙闕」。 1156年，廣州向南擴建。 1244年，建造雙門樓，從此北京路中段被稱為雙門底，漸成為商業區。清代時，今北京路由北至南依序為承宣直街、雙門底、雄鎮直街、永清街，以賣書坊、古董市、花市為著名。明清時期，雙門安置了長壺滴漏，週邊百姓透過它安排祭祀活動。清雍正年間，現北京路與沿江路交匯的珠江邊，是天字碼頭的所在地，為清代時是專為迎送官員而設，附近的接官亭正是當時迎接官員的地點。
中華民國九年（1920年），廣州拆城牆開路，將此路改名為「永漢路」（國民政府使用粵音英文名「Wing Hon Road」），取的是清朝已滅，把南街名「永清」變成「永漢」之意。 1936年，曾任國民政府首任立法院長的胡漢民過世後，又胡本身乃廣州人，為紀念之，永漢路更名為「漢民路」。
北京路從清代起已有壁魚堂、汲古堂等書店及曾宗周朱墨店、劉中山筆店，這一帶還聚集大量刻書坊。
從1907年1月上海的商務印書館在永漢北路創辦分館開始，就持續有新的書局、書店在這裡設立。 1912年冬，上海的中華書局在永漢北路設立分局（今聯合書店）。 1921年，以出版教科書和文化教育用書為主的上海世界書局在惠愛路昌興街設分局，後又在永漢北路設立分局。 1924年，上海民智書局在永漢北路設立分局，廣益書局，會文堂書局，錦章書局等大型出版機構也先後在永漢北路設立分局。在陳濟棠主粵的1920-1930年代，廣州市區基本形成以永漢北路、文德北路、光復中路、十八甫等為中心的出版發行集中地。
現在北京路上有兩間琴行、六間書店，分別是有著建於1952年的新華書店、建於1954年的兒童書店、科技書店、聯合書店、古籍書店、教材書店和外文書店。北京路附近還有文具用品店三多軒和古董店集雅齋。

Beijing Road is a street in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, which integrates culture, entertainment and commerce. It is the most prosperous commercial center in Guangzhou's history, with an average daily flow of about 350,000 people. Beijing Road starts from Guangwei Road in the north and ends at Yanjiang Middle Road in the south, with a total length of more than 1,500 meters.
In the old days, Beijing Road was a main north-south street inside and outside the Great South Gate of Guangzhou (now the intersection of Beijing Road and Great South Road). After the Song Dynasty destroyed the Southern Han Dynasty, the southern city wall was demolished, and the southern city was extended to the riverside to build double gates. In 1156, Guangzhou expanded to the south. In 1244, a double gate tower was built. From then on, the middle section of Beijing Road was called Shuangmendi, and gradually became a commercial district. In the Qing Dynasty, the current Beijing Road was Chengxuanzhi Street, Shuangmendi, Xiongzhenzhi Street, and Yongqing Street from north to south, and was famous for selling books, antiques, and flowers. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a long pot drip was placed in Shuangmen, and the surrounding people arranged sacrificial activities through it. During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, the Pearl River where Beijing Road and Yanjiang Road meet was the location of Tianzi Wharf, which was specially built for welcoming and seeing off officials in the Qing Dynasty. The reception pavilion nearby was the place where officials were welcomed at that time.
In the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920), Guangzhou demolished the city wall to open the road, and renamed this road Yonghan Road (the National Government used the Cantonese English name Wing Hon Road), which means that the Qing Dynasty had been destroyed and the name of the South Street Yongqing was changed to Yonghan. In 1936, after Hu Hanmin, who was the first president of the Legislative Yuan of the National Government, passed away, and Hu himself was a Guangzhou native, in order to commemorate him, Yonghan Road was renamed Hanmin Road.
Beijing Road has had bookstores such as Biyutang and Jiugutang since the Qing Dynasty, as well as Zeng Zongzhou Zhumodian and Liu Zhongshan Pen Store. There are also a large number of book engraving workshops in this area.

In the old days, Panyu (Panyu County), Nanhai and Shunde, which were also economically prosperous and culturally interconnected, were collectively known as Nanfanshun. It was one of the birthplaces of Lingnan culture. The District People's Government is located at No. 319 Qinghe East Road.
Panyu was established as a county in the 33rd year of Qin Shihuang (214 BC). It is an important birthplace of Lingnan culture and one of the starting points of the Maritime Silk Road. It has Lingnan architecture, Lingnan School of Painting, Cantonese opera folk art, Guangdong music and other Guangfu cultural and Folk arts such as fish dance, floating color, begging for skill, and lion awakening have a long history. Panyu is also a famous city of gourmet food, and has always been known as Food in Guangzhou, Taste in Panyu.

The Shiqiao Bridge is the first bridge across the Shiqiao River in Guangzhou. It is the first bridge from the Shiqiao area to the south to the Shatian area (the area south of Nansha and Panyu Qiao South Street today). It is also the first bridge across the city. The first cross-river bridge in the Shiqiao section of Qiaohe Road, it is a hub bridge connecting the north and south banks of Shiqiao Waterway. The bridge was built at the narrowest point of the Shiqiao River. The bridge has a total length of 294.12 meters, and the approach roads on both sides are 90 meters each. It was completed in 1978.

Guangming Hotel
Located in Chaoyang District, the Guangming Hotel is a perfect base while in Beijing. The hotel offers an outdoor pool and a fitness centre as well as conference room(s), a beauty centre and a 24 hour reception.
The rooms feature an entertainment center as well as a TV with cable / satellite channels. Rooms include kitchens equipped with a refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave. A mini-refrigerator, a telephone and independent heating can be found in each room of the hotel. All rooms are air conditioned and come with a safe, a mini bar and an iron.

Yellow Mountain China - whats the BEST route to take?
If you are hiking yellow mountain China or Huangshan 黄山 for two days what's the best route ?
and what's best hotel to stay at?
Be aware Yellow Mountain is HUGE so if you plan to climb from the bottom be prepared for a 3 - 4 day trip.

Here is the route and hotel we chose, we went the same day arriving on high speed train from Shanghai to yellow mountain station.
1. Enter yellow mountain through the Yuping cable car entrance and take the cable car.
2. Short walk to Yupinglou hotel and stay the night, we heard this is the best hotel on the mountain and after arriving on the high speed train we were pretty tired.
3. Hike past Lotus peak to XiHai and try the funicular mountain train - we came back up again to avoid the 90 min walk back up the mountain.
4. Head to Guangming peak, this seems to be the most crowded part of the mountain and most people come here to see the sunrise.
5. Head back down to Yungu.
6. Take the Yungu cable car back down, this is the longest cable car in Asia, its pretty amazing.

Huangshan (literal meaning: Yellow Mountain) is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China.
The area is well known for its scenery, sunsets, peculiarly-shaped granite peaks, Huangshan pine trees, hot springs, winter snow, and views of the clouds from above. Huangshan is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China's major tourist destinations.
The Huangshan mountain range has many peaks, some more than 1,000 meters (3,250 feet) high. The three tallest and best-known peaks are Lotus Peak (Lianhua Feng, 1,864 m), Bright Peak (Guangming Ding, 1,840 m) and Celestial Peak (Tiandu Feng, literally Capital of Heaven Peak, 1,829 m).

Staying Overnight at the Top of Huangshan
Having a clean room and hot showers brightened everyone's spirits. Especially because a few in our group had stayed on the summit before in dismal accommodation, we were not expecting much. Happily, the Xihai Hotel has a new wing that we booked into and it was really very comfortable..
After dumping bags and showering, we met up in the hotel's Chinese cuisine restaurant where we ordered almost everything on the menu and enjoyed every bite. The food was very fresh and I guess it comes from farms at the foot of the mountain so it was simple and delicious..
After dinner, many of us explored the hotel's entertainment options from foot massage to karaoke but we all turned in relatively early in order to get up for sunrise the next morning..
