Snow in Lockdown, Grantham, UK - turning point?
Now is the winter of our discontent. Wyndam park is transformed into a white paradise. The icy cold beauty is like an antiseptic shock to the brain, eventually clearing my head of thoughts of Covid-19 (the number of deaths just passing 100,000 today). So many people are suffering with this seemingly endless lockdown but in the snow I wonder : can we have reached the turning point at last?

Video Postcard. GRANTHAM WINTER LANDSCAPE Slideshow - pc39.
Grantham lies at the heart of attractive Lincolnshire countryside and villages: the Lincolnshire Edge to the north, the Vale of Belvoir to the west, fens to the east, and an almost mini-Cotswolds to the south east. Grantham's varied rural surroundings are the most visually pleasing part, (and often unacknowledged as such,) of Lincolnshire, more attractive than the celebrated, and largely bleak, Wolds.
This is a slideshow of shots taken during December 27th and 28th 2005, after a now unusually heavy fall of snow:
We see St Wulframs church, a shoot at Denton, Belvoir Castle and the road through, and views of, High Leys and Windsor Hill at Belvoir.
Then fields off the Gorse Lane to Croxton Kerrial road, Denton Manor gates, and Denton village.
Followed by fields off the A52 road between Cold Harbour and the Roman Café, in a heavy winter mist, into and around Old Somerby.

This camcorder gives reasonably good colour results in strong sunlight. Anything less than this, the colour tends to be washed-out. Moving or out-of-focus objects show definite blueing around edges. A good-buy 'snapshot' camcorder in it's range, but not one to buy if you want quality results.
Video editing suites can increase saturation, but will drastically reduce quality and increase pixelation with JVC GR-D270EK movies.
