Stalin's house, city of Gori, Georgia - great views! Let's travel to Georgia and to the city of Gori where we will view the house where Stalin was born at and where he lived in for the first four years of his life, in Gori, Georgia. Gori has long been synonymous with Joseph Stalin, who was born and went to school here. During his rule of the Soviet Union, Gori town's centre was rebuilt to his neoclassical tastes, and even today much of the downtown area is defined by its Stalinist architecture. The large Stalin Museum is Gori's best-known attraction, but there are also some fascinating older sights nearby, most notably the cave city of Uplistsikhe.
Gori was an important military stronghold in the Middle Ages and maintains a strategic importance due to its location on the principal highway connecting eastern and western parts of Georgia. In the course of its history, Gori has been invaded by the armies of regional powers several times. The city was occupied by Russian troops during the 2008 Russia–Georgia war.

Gori | Visiting Stalin's Birth town & Uplistsikhe Georgia's Oldest City | Georgia Travel Vlog
So, Gori... This small city has enough to do for a couple of day's visit, including a few interesting churches, parks and lovely surrounding scenery.
But it's most famous for one thing : it's the birth city of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. In the parks you can still find statues of him; one of the main streets is named Stalin avenue and of course there is a museum where you can get a guided tour and even get to see his own personal train carriage he went in everywhere.
Thankfully, Gori also has a couple of other things going for it like: Uplistsikhe - Georgia's oldest city at over 3000 years old! It's built into the rocks of the mountains and is a fascinating piece of history. Gori also has a small fortress on a hill, perfect for views of the city and the surrounding areas, as well as a famous church we didn't get to see.
And, of course, like other places in Georgia, some very friendly locals who really, really like to break bread and share wine with visitors!

In diesem Video mache ich einen Kurztrip nach Gori. Eine Kleinstadt südlich von Tbilisi (Tiflis). Dort schaue ich mir verschiedene Sehenswürdigkeiten an, wie z.B. die Uplisziche (eine Höhlenstadt die schon v. Chr. existierte), das Josef Stalin Museum, die Gori Fortress Festung und die Stadt Gori selbst. Wie auch bei all meinen vorherigen Erlebnissen und Reisen fällt mir immer wieder auf was für ein schönes Land Georgien ist.

English Version:
In this video I am going on a short trip to Gori. A small town south of Tbilisi (Tbilisi). There I look at various sights, such as the Uplistsikhe (a cave city that already existed BC), the Josef Stalin Museum, the Gori Fortress and the city of Gori itself. As with all my previous experiences and trips, I like it again and again on what a beautiful country Georgia is.
