Giurgiu is a city in southern Romania. The seat of Giurgiu County, it lies in the historical region of Muntenia. It is situated amongst mud-flats and marshes on the left bank of the Danube facing the Bulgarian city of Ruse on the opposite bank.

#1 The Varna Opera is an opera house in Varna, Bulgaria. It is part of the Opera and Philharmonic Society of Varna, founded by a merger of the Opera House and Philharmonic Society in 1999. The theatre itself originally opened in 1947.
#2 Sofia is the capital of the Balkan nation of Bulgaria. It’s in the west of the country, below Vitosha Mountain. The city’s landmarks reflect more than 2,000 years of history, including Greek, Roman, Ottoman and Soviet occupation. Medieval Boyana Church has 13th-century frescoes. Built by the Romans in the 4th century, St. George Rotunda Church has medieval and Ottoman decoration dating to the 10th century.
#3 The Seven Rila Lakes are a group of glacial lakes, situated in the northwestern Rila Mountain in Bulgaria. They are the most visited group of lakes in Bulgaria. The lakes are situated between 2,100 and 2,500 metres elevation above sea level.
Each lake carries a name associated with its most characteristic feature. The highest one is called Salzata (The Tear) due to its clear waters that allow visibility in depth. The next one in height carries the name Okoto (The Eye) after its almost perfectly oval form. Okoto is the deepest cirque lake in Bulgaria, with a depth of 37.5 m. Babreka (The Kidney) is the lake with the steepest shores of the entire group. Bliznaka (The Twin) is the largest one by area. Trilistnika (The Trefoil) has an irregular shape and low shores. The shallowest lake is Ribnoto Ezero (The Fish Lake) and the lowest one is Dolnoto Ezero (The Lower Lake), where the waters that flow out of the other lakes are gathered to form the Dzherman River.
The Seven Lakes are a tourist attraction in Bulgaria because of its natural environment. The lakes are located one above the other and are connected by small streams, which form tiny waterfalls and cascades. Tourist accommodation in the lakes' vicinity include a chalet on the northeastern shore of The Fish Lake, at an elevation of 2,196 m.[citation needed] The most common time to visit the lakes is summer, in July and August, when temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius and the risk of sudden storms is lower.[citation needed] During the rest of the year the weather can be severe.[citation needed] The lakes usually freeze during October, and do not melt before June. The ice cover can reach up to 2 meters.
#4 Ruse is in the northeastern part of the country, on the right bank of the Danube, opposite the Romanian city of Giurgiu, approximately 75 km (47 mi) south of Bucharest, Romania's capital, 200 km (124 mi) from the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast and 300 km (186 mi) from the capital Sofia. Thanks to its location and its railway and road bridge over the Danube (Danube Bridge), it is the most significant Bulgarian river port, serving an important part of the international trade of the country.
Ruse is known for its 19th- and 20th-century Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture, which attracts many tourists. It is often called the Little Vienna. The Ruse-Giurgiu Friendship Bridge, until 14 June 2013 the only one in the shared Bulgarian-Romanian section of the Danube, crosses the river here.
Ruse is the birthplace of the Nobel laureate in Literature Elias Canetti and the writer Michael Arlen.
Ruse is on the right bank of the river Danube, which is the high bank, having two underwater terraces and three river terraces at 15 to 22 m (49.21–72.18 ft), 30 to 66 m (98.43–216.54 ft), and 54 to 65 m (177.17–213.25 ft). The average altitude is 45.5 m (149.28 ft) AMSL. The urban area is an approximately 11-km ellipse running along the river. The city extends from the land-connected Matey (Матей) island and the mouth of Rusenski Lom on the west to Srabcheto (Сръбчето) hill on the east. During the 20th century, the west end of the city was significantly modified by moving the mouth of Rusenski Lom to the west, as well as by moving the bank itself with its fairway considerably to the north. Sarabair (саръбаир, from Turkish Sarıbayır meaning Yellow Slope) hill is to the south of the city and is 159 m (521.65 ft) high. The Rousse TV Tower is built there on the remains of Leventtabia, a former Turkish fortification.
#5 Bansko is a town at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, which are part of Pirin National Park, in southwest Bulgaria. It’s a gateway to numerous ski and snowboard slopes on Todorka Peak, including the challenging Tomba run. Footpaths cross the park’s craggy alpine landscape, home to bears and wolves. The park is also known for the high-altitude Vihren Peak, with forested ridges and striking glacial lakes.

Джурджу (рум. Giurgiu) — город в Румынии, столица жудеца Джурджу. Город стоит на реке Дунай.
В соответствии со средневековой военной стратегией болгарами строится несколько парных (по обе стороны реки) городов на Дунае. В XIII—XIV вв. Джурджу является частью такого укрепления вместе с существовавшей с IX века на противоположном правом берегу Дуная крепостью Русе. Первое письменное упоминание о нём содержится в Кодексе Латина Parisinus, в 1395 году (во времена правления Мирча Старого (Мирча чел Бэтрын). Уже в тот период это важный портовый город, он назывался Гюргово или Йоргово в честь Святого Георгия Победоносца, некоторые путешественники упоминают Большие и Малые Джурджу
Город был завоеван Османской империей в 1420 году и до начала XIX века был одним из исламских центров Румынии. Как укреплённый город, Джурджу часто упоминается в боях за контроль судоходства в низовьях Дуная.
Журжево (или крепость Журжа) играло видную роль почти во всех русско-турецких войнах. В 1770 и 1771 г. город, обнесённый тогда укреплениями, несколько раз переходил из рук в руки, а потом до окончания войны был занят русскими войсками. 19.05.1772 г. здесь было подписано перемирие между Россией и Турцией. В 1790 г., во 2-ю турецкую войну, город осаждали австрийские войска, но были отброшены к Бухаресту. Во время турецких войн в царствование императора Александра I здесь неоднократно происходили столкновения русских войск с неприятелем, а в 1810 г. крепость Журжа была сдана русским войскам вместе с соседним Рущуком. Во время русско-турецкой войны 1828-29 гг. Журжево опять было сдано русским войскам, и затем было решено крепостные укрепления не восстанавливать. В Крымскую (Восточную) войну 1853-56 гг. около Журжи происходили многие военные действия. В войну 1877-78 гг. в Журже воздвигнуто было русскими до 16 батарей, вооружённых осадными орудиями, которые перестреливались с рущукскими береговыми батареями и препятствовали неприятельским военным судам подниматься вверх по Дунаю.
