Day Trip From Melbourne - Road Trip to Geelong
On this Adventure we will take a road trip to Geelong Victoria's 2nd largest city.
This Trip will focus on my mother's experience of Geelong.
Our First stop will be GL & HC Geelongs Library and Cultural Center. My mother was interested in visiting here to see the Architecture of the building.
We had a coffee here before heading to our next destination.
Our 2nd Stop is Geelongs Waterfront with a walk a long Cunningham Pier.
After a walk along part of the Waterfront we headed back into Town to the National Wool Museum.
The Museum is Open Daily from 10am till 3pm.
Opened in 1988 it shows the history nearly 200 years of Australia's World Famous Wool Industry.
The Museum also holds Exhibitions the current exhibition is the Wild Life Photography of the Year.
After visiting the Museum it was time for lunch.
Our Next Stop Buckley Falls and our Final Stop Geelongs Old Paper Mill.
Barwon Paper Mill was Victoria's 3rd Paper Mill it started Production in August of 1878.
The Paper from this Mill was made from Rags.
Today you can enjoy Food Wine Arts Crafts Music Culture and alot of history.
Opened 10am to 5pm Wednesday to Sunday.
Unfortunately it was closed when we visited so we will return again when it's open. We still enjoyed looking at the old buildings.
