Ep 10 Exploring Vijayawada | Undavalli Caves | Kanak Durga Temple | Babai Hotel | Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada is about 345 km away from Visakhapatnam & 275 km from Hyderabad. We spent about one and a half day exploring Vijayawada and got chance to visit amazing sightseeing attractions of the city and also food exploration at famous restaurants.

This video was shot on 20th Jan 2023, below are the activities we did throughout the day.

Babai Hotel in Gandhi Nagar - We started our day having breakfast in this restaurant, 5 years ago when I had visited Hyderabad, first time tasted Babai Idly then only I had decided, whenever I would visit Babai Hotel in vijayawada, I would try that there as well.

Babai Idly - Rs 40

Outside Babai Hotel, we also tried the Babai coffee - Filter coffee, which was the best in my entire andhra tour.

Kanak Temple - This temple is dedicated to Goddesses Durga, the Deity inside the sanctum is swayambhu. Kanak Durga temple is a very famous temple of Vijayawada.

Sri Ramaiah Mess And Caterers - We had the meal - Rs 250 veg thali, enjoyed the meal at this restaurant.

Undavalli Caves - 9km from Vijayawada, 6th century caves are carved in beautiful way, this is the finest example of rock cut architecture. In the cave we saw rock cut sculptures of many gods & goddesses.

Swagruhu Foods - One of the famous shops in vijayawada for sweets, savouries & pickles.

Eat Street - Local market in vijayawada, where about 100 to 150 street vendors during night time serves different varieties of food. We tried Delhi ka falooda - Rs 100 from A1 Quality Falooda.

Night food market at Vijayawada starts at 9 pm and continues till 11 pm, earlier it was till 2 am.

The structure of the Prakasam Barrage stretches 1223.5 m across the Krishna River connecting Krishna and Guntur districts. The barrage serves also as a road bridge and spans over a lake.

Akkana and Madanna, who were ministers in the court of Abdul Hasan Tanashah in the 17th century.and these rock-cut caves were named after them. Though Akkanna and Madanna were not responsible for the carving of these caves, they were actively associated with them as they had their Secretariat on these premises.

Hi Friends, We are back with a new destination, this time we are travelling to vijayawada,Vijayawada is the second largest city in Andhra pradesh state , we are going by road towards Viayawada from Hyderabad and we halted at Suryapet for food this place was approximately 140 KMs from Hyderabad , so it was nearly in the midway, now let us discuss distance of vijayawada from various places

From Warangal it is 270 KMs
From Hyderabad about 280 KMs
From Visakapatnam about 350 - 400 KMs
From Chennai around 450 Kms
From Bengaluru 650-700 Kms
From Mumbai 1000-1100 Kms
From Kolkata 1200 KMs
From Delhi 1900 KMs

Now let us discuss the various means to reach Vijayawada

if you are considering travlling to Vijayawada via flight then you would happy to know that Vijayawada has an international airport and has a good connectivity with various cities of India and also with cities outside the country, Vijayawada airport is about 18 KMs away from Benz circle,

now if you are planning to go to vijayawada by train
similar to vijayawada airport, Viayawada Railway station has good connectivity with all cities in India and is considered to be 4 th busiest railway station in India

if you are planning to come from Hyderabad in train, it would take about 5 and half hour to 8 hours and the newly launched vande bharat express takes about 4 hours

also if you are plannning to come from Warangal it would take about about 3 an half hour to 5 hours and in vande bharat express it takes 2 hours

if you are planning to come from Visakapatnam it would take about 5 and half hour to 8 hours and the newly launched vande bharat express takes about 4 hours

finally if you are planning to come by roadways, Visakapatnam has great bus servuce and connectivity from all the cities of Telanagana and Andhra pradesh and from few ciies of Tamilnadu and Karnataka too , if you are self driving and coming from Hyderabad , you will have take NH 65, also the samle higway connects in between if coming from Warangal, if coming from Visakapatnam , then you can take NH 16 to reach vijayawada and also same highway if coming from Chennai, while we were driving towards Vijayawada from Hyderabad, we got to see dense fog around, so be careful if you are driving in the morning time in winters and also we stopped in suryapet to take a break at Raju Gari thota and then after reaching Vijaywada,

on the day 1 we went to our first destination , which was Bhavani Island a fun theme park build on a river island, for which you need to go via boat, detailed video will be shown of this place in our upcoming video and then on the same day in evening we went to see Prakasham barrage and on the way we got to see some beautiful fountains on the road, and after that we wnt around for shopping spree on MG road, this street was so beautiful with ligtings in shop and there were too many shops here , so it is good place to walk around and do shopping.

and we mad our way to the famous SSS idli hotel, it was packed and we couldn't get a seat so we took parcel and I can assure you that the idli and chutney was amazing and adding ghee to it took it to another level

and night we went to the eat street, which has lots of stall serving mouth watering street delights, be sure to visit this place if you are a foodie

day-2
early morning we went the famous Kanakadurga temple, visit as early as possible to avoid waiting in queue, after that, we went to mangalagiri to visit Panakala Narsimhaswamy temple, which is 10 KMs from Kanakadurga temple and while returning back we made our last stop at Undavalli caves,
