Fort Pierce is also known as the Sunrise City, sister to San Francisco, California, the Sunset City. It was named after the Fort Pierce Army post which was built nearby in 1838 during the Second Seminole War. The military post had been named for Benjamin Kendrick Pierce, a career United States Army officer and the brother of President Franklin Pierce. It was the largest city on Florida's Atlantic Coast between Daytona Beach and West Palm Beach until 1970 when it was surpassed by Melbourne.

Just a little north of West Palm Beach, and South of Cape Canaveral, Fort Pierce was and still is a sleepy fishing village for the most part. The city has really stepped up it's game in recent years to blend old with new and as we show here in this video, I think they are successful.
Fort Pierce has museums, charter fishing, great beaches, awesome restaurants that you can't find anywhere else, and a blended, diverse population. If you like Surfing, kayaking, or just wading to fish, Fort Pierce is your place to go. Surrounded by other small towns just like it, you're sure to find something interesting to do.
We enjoyed bringing you our home. Although we have moved away from here, we still know and love the town and keep up with friends from as early as elementary school. We welcome you to go to Fort Pierce and see for yourselves. 👉🏻

All the fish served is fresh, locally caught & never frozen. Their Mahi-Mahi, Swordfish, and Tuna are caught in deep water, approximately 150 miles offshore to the northeast of Fort Pierce. All their beef is certified angus, their vegetables are all fresh and never frozen, and the bread they serve is from a local bakery and delivered fresh to their kitchen. Visit On the Edge by car or boat and enjoy great food, drinks, and live music. And the best part? They’re dog friendly, so feel free to bring along your furry family members to join in on

Number 2… 12A Buoy! So good! An amazing seafood restaurant with an open and airy outdoor sitting area with a colorful exterior. They serve up homestyle seafood dishes in a relaxed rustic environment. Enjoy gorgeous views of boats passing by while eating some of the freshest seafood in the area. The chefs decide the menu for the day based on the fisherman’s fresh catch of the day! They have the best soup, called Miami Vice Chowder, a soup consisting of half clam chowder and half conch soup! It’s a must try if you give them a visit!
Number 3… Cobbs Landing, located waterfront in the beautiful Historic Downtown Ft. Pierce. They are a tropical-themed spot with a mojito bar & a seafood-heavy menu which also includes tacos & pasta. The restaurant is under a giant tiki and near the boats in the marina, setting the stage for beautiful views while you enjoy great drinks and fresh seafood in a relaxed atmosphere. They have a great gumbo and ahi tuna poke bowl, and their turkey burger is to die for! Their drinks are reasonably priced and refreshing to sip on while watch the boats cruise by!
Number 4… Chuck’s Seafood Restaurant home of the World-Famous Fried Shrimp and some of the freshest seafood you will find in Florida! Their menu changes daily depending on the fresh catches of the day! They are known for their classic American seafood dishes and gorgeous waterfront views. While enjoying some friend shrimp make sure to visit their famous “Captain’s Room” which is filled with signed guitars, trumpets, pictures and other musical items from famous bands and musicians such as ‘The Beatles’, ‘Shania Twain’, ‘The Beach Boys’ and more!

Manatee Observation and Education Center | Places to Visit | Ft. Pierce Florida
➳The Manatee Observation and Education Center is a waterfront environmental education and wildlife viewing center. It is located in Downtown Fort Pierce, Florida. Here you can learn about manatees and other wild animals, Florida's diverse habitats and much more. They have hands-on exhibits and informational displays that are both fun and educational. They have an observation tower where you may catch a glimpse of Florida's Gentle Giants resting or playing in Moore's Creek. You may also have a chance to see a variety of other wildlife including the Bottlenose Dolphin, Mullet, Brown Pelicans, and Terns.

- Admission: $3.00 per person. Children 5 & under are free with adults. Members free (must show membership card)
