The first museum in Kayseri was opened in 1930 in the historic Hunat Hatun Madrasa building. After outgrowing that structure, the museum was moved to a newly constructed building in 1969. After 50 years of service, the museum was upgraded to a new building within the Kayseri Castle in 2019. Thousands of priceless artifacts spanning the centuries await your visit at this state of the art museum.

Some museums are cool, some are amazing, some are just off the hook . This museum in Kyseri Turkey is off the hook for having such plentiful treasures from the Ancient World. There are statues and Idols carved from rock and shell. Pottery made to the highest skill of any modern or ancient period before or after, in my honest opinion. There are items on display with such fine detail that only a jeweler could craft. How they managed to produce such amazing detailed skilled and jeweler type crafts thousands of years ago is truly astounding! There are coins galore on display and many are gold. There is ancient jewelry, tablets, monoliths, clay tablets and on and on. Check it out, this place is truly a world treasure for all to behold!

The daughter of one of the Roman kings living in Kayseri falls ill with a relentless illness. The king takes his daughter to many physicians and does everything for his treatment. But there is no cure for this girl whose beauty is legendary. The girl's illness is progressing day by day, and she is no longer able to walk. His feet are not holding, his knees are blunt. As it is known today, the disease of the girl is rheumatism. In those days, Sarıkaya was a reed and a swamp. A small pond has formed where there is hot water. The king sends his little daughter to visit this hot water as a last resort. Now the poor girl, who lives the few days of her life, wanders around this muddy pond to be hunted, and from time to time goes into the mud with her friends. Here, the mud and hot water that she enters for traveling and being distracted are good for the girl. She stays here for a while, day by day, the girl's illness starts to get better. Stubby knees are opened; he starts to step and walk slowly. It turns out that the beautiful girl, who has recovered completely at the end, is better than the hot water here. Thereupon, the king, the father of the girl, had a marble pool built here, surrounded by big cut stones, and a city was formed around this pool where there was nobody before. The name of the king's daughter is given to this new city.

Abflug aus Istanbul in Richtung Asien um 18 Uhr bei tollem Sonnenuntergang.
Diese Stadt ist auch von oben spektakulär. Ein kleiner Eindruck über die Größe von Istanbul bekommt von oben. Wir waren 5 Tage in Istanbul unterwegs und man muss zugeben die Stadt ist riesig und auch leider sehr verbaut und unübersichtlich. Trotz Reiseführers und Information im Vorfeld haben wir wohl nur ein Bruchteil sehen können.
