🇲🇽 CHEPE EXPRESS - An INCREDIBLE WASTE of MONEY? | Mexico's COPPER Canyons | Creel to Los Mochis

🇲🇽 BARRANCAS DEL COBRE, MEXICO - Welcome to Part 10 of my 2022 Mexico Travel series. I’ve been in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua for a month, having visited Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Parral, and most recently Creel, one of Mexico’s small Pueblo Mágico (magical town)at the gateway to the Copper Canyons (Barrancas del Cobre). After a year of recommendations, it’s time to jump on El Chepe Express - a scenic 9 train ride through the Canyons to its terminus, Los Mochis in Sinaloa. Apparently, it's one of the greatest things to do in Chihuahua. The big question is, is it INCREDIBLE or an INCREDIBLE waste of money?

I paid for clase EJECUTIVA (business class). You can check out pricing in the video and at the link below. Note that in the video I was not permitted to enter turista or primera (first) class to get any shots. Also note that you can get the train from Los Mochis too, you can stop off at each stop using the same ticket, there is also a regional train (cheaper) and it may simply be better for you to drive as you will see much more in terms of views.

Life-Changing Week in Oaxaca, Mexico!! (Shocking Spanish Immersion Retreat)

I traveled to Oaxaca City, Mexico for my first Spanish Immersion Retreat and this epic week rewrote my future (A *must-watch* before coming to Mexico)
❁❁More info about this immersion retreat:

I've been living in Mexico for 5 years, so I thought I had a pretty good handle on the Spanish language before going on this immersion retreat with @SpanishandGo but WOW my Spanish leveled up like crazy!

Beyond language learning, it was a life-altering experience. Hopefully, I captured that in this Oaxaca Mexico vlog!

Our week in Oaxaca City, Mexico was filled with:
- Trying authentic Oaxacan food and drinks (Oaxacan chocolate, mezcal, tlayudas, mole, tejate, ice cream, street food, and more)
- Learning about how Oaxacan chocolate is made in a hidden factory
- Going to the maguey fields to learn the process of making mezcal and try it right next to the agave plants themselves
- The engaging daily Spanish lessons
- Beautiful Oaxacan architecture like the Templo de Santo Domingo and other historic buildings
- Surprising cultural experiences like little parades called calendas
- Free time to explore Oaxaca City

THIS is MEXICO? | NOMBRE de DIOS & El SALTITO | DURANGO | The Most BEAUTIFUL Place in Mexico?

NOMBRE DE DIOS, MEXICO - In this Mexico travel video, we are in Durango, in north-western Mexico, which is full of relatively unknown locations. We're visiting one in this video - could this be the most beautiful place in Mexico in 2021?

Nombre de Dios is a Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town), one of the many towns in Mexico part of the Pueblo Mágico initiative, designed to celebrate Mexican history and culture. It's home to Doña Aleja, a famous gordita restaurant in operation since 1957. It's quite possibly one of the best examples of Mexican food you could find!

We also head to El Saltito, a waterfall and lake surrounded by insane scenery, trees and sheer rockfaces!

This video is all about how travel requires a certain degree of childhood innocence in order to explore without fear or boundaries! I hope you like it!

If you're thinking about moving to Mexico or becoming one of the increasing number of expats in Mexico, your choices aren't limited to popular areas like Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Cancun or Puerto Vallarta. Durango is an area that, granted, you'll need to be able to speak Spanish in, but the city and state has so much to offer, just as much as those other places!

Stay at El Fuerte for the Best Beach in Mahahual - Costa Maya / Quintana Roo / México * * * * *

El Fuerte Beach Resort (

...

When we were in Mahahual 3 years ago, we stayed at El Fuerte for a week.

This time, we are staying at El Fuerte for a month.

The next time we return to Mahahual, we might stay at El Fuerte for up to a year ... or perhaps for the rest of our life.

Here - from a humble penthouse on the top of the fortress hotel - we overlook the village and the world's 2nd largest reef.

Travelling extensively across Asia, Europe and the Americas over the last 40+ years for sun, surf and smiles, we are back again in this little idyllic jewel of Costa Maya where the warm & dry climate is as ideal as it can be.

A prevalent sea breeze quietly & continually caresses this quiet village of 1,000+ residents and cleanses the place of micro organisms with its salinity while enforcing a no fly zone for flying insects.

We have yet to swat a mosquito or fly.

And as they say, There is no coronavirus here.

We understand why ... just Corona beer.

Low humidity here effortlessly & quickly dries our laundry & clothes within half a day.

Like Bacalar's Lagoon of Seven Colors, the water here is clean, clear and comfortably warm to soak in for hours ... and teeming with fish to keep us entertained.

It is perfect for kids of all ages.

Everyday, if you wish, you can have your lobster.

And the seawater shrimps are the freshest and largest we have ever eaten in our life.

With incoming sargasso controlled by the simple but effective use of nets offshore, the beachfront here - unlike most other places along the Riviera Maya and Costa Maya coastline - is relatively seaweed free.

Almost like a castle, El Fuerte has been built to stand up to hurricanes and the tastefully designed suites are scattered around a spacious 4-storey central courtyard to maximise cross ventilation and noise insulation.

The entire place is clean and well-maintained.

Contrasting against the strong whitewashed walls are the softening touches of palapa roofing which provides ample shade and their delightful use of timber for the corridors and balconies.

There is a treasure trove of colours & textures here: the sculptures & artwork by their resident artist (Angelo) are pleasing candy to the eyes.

Trained as an architect, I find El Fuerte extremely appealing in the way it has been intelligently and beautifully conceived and designed.

Much credit must go to resident co-owner & chef extraordinaire (Luca) for his experienced professional management and fine aesthetic sensibilities.

You must try his tiramisu ... it is the very best in the world (really)!

In our humble opinion, El Fuerte has the best restaurant in Mahahual and it is also the best place to stay in Mahahual ... thanks to Luca.

Our sincere gratitude also goes out to Luca's hardworking well-trained staff for their gracious hospitality and outstanding service ... including Guadalupe (administration); Juan, Angel & Carlos (housekeeping); Elisa, Salina & Angel (reception); Lorenzo, Benjamin, Leticia & Liz (food & beverage); his bartenders Osiris & Domingo; and his talented crew in the kitchen - Armando, Jorge, Rosario, Miriam & Pepe.

Have a fabulous time!
