TEQUILA, JALISCO | Day Trip Guide | Tequila Tours | La Alborada | Fortaleza
We are both major Tequila fans, we might even go as far as saying it’s our favorite liquor! Serve us up a margarita loaded with some tequila and we are in heaven. So of course when in Guadalajara we couldn’t miss the opportunity to go straight to the source. We visited Tequila, Jalisco the birthplace of Tequila and will rave about it for a while.
We’ve been on tequila tours before in Cancun and Mazatlan, but we were able to experience more than just a tasting here. We give a rough guide to follow, from how to get there to where to go, how much it costs and what to expect. Feel free to use this guide for your next trip to TEQUILA!
We eat breakfast overlooking the beautiful Church and then drink quite a bit of Tequila. There are two distilleries that we visit in today’s vlog and we would recommend them to all our friends and family! We had an amazing experience, but watch the vlog to see for yourself!

La Fortuna, Costa Rica Budget Travel Vlog | Arenal Volcano, Rio Celeste, Hot Springs
La Fortuna offers so much variety when it comes to things to do and see in Costa Rica! We spent four days in La Fortuna and enjoyed every minute of it, especially because everything was so affordable! The local food was so flavorful and being immersed in such lush nature was absolutely breath-taking. If you're lucky, you might catch a view of the Arenal Volcano when it's not hiding behind the clouds. We were able to see the sunset over the volcano and it was a sight like no other! La Fortuna is amazing overall. Don't get us started on the waterfalls and the sky blue waters - watch for yourself! The Hertz/Firefly Car Rental in San Jose Costa Rica provided the WORST customer service we have ever experienced from a car rental place (They gave away the automatic car we reserved, only gave us an option to drive a manual car which we were unable to do, and even if we were able to drive manual they increased the daily rental price 10-fold).
We recommend you look elsewhere for a car rental ( or check out our truly AMAZING Uber driver and friend named ALEJANDRO who drove us all over Costa Rica.

La entrada al balneario El Arenal en Tecozautla es de 125 pesos e inapam 65, niños mayores de 4 años ya pagan entrada general, recuerda siempre revisar los precios actualizados en el portal web.
El balneario El Arenal se compone de tres secciones, las albercas tanto para adultos como infantiles, el
Área de campamento y el area del hotel, en cuanto al campamento puedes traer tu tienda de campaña o bien aquí te la rentan solo que los costos por campamento son independientes a la entrada al balneario El Arenal .
Es decir que si no traes tu casa de campaña tienes que rentar una dependiendo de la capacidad de personas 350 para dos personas, 450 para cuatro ya incluye el precio del espacio por acampar de 150 pesos o bien traer tu propia casa de campaña, más 150 por el uso del espacio para acampar más 125 por persona para entrar al balneario
Si lo tuyo no son las canchas deportivas y vienes a descansar, este balneario también cuenta con spa y temazcal que es una práctica que existe desde hace siglos y lo practicaban nuestras culturas prehispánicas como técnicas espirituales y de sanacion, ya que representa el regreso al vientre materno, en la actualidad es usado para desintoxicar el organismo y aliviar dolores.
Algo muy bueno de el arenal es que puedes traer tus víveres tanto comida como bebida siempre y cuando estás no seas alcohólicas ya que es un balneario totalmente familiar y muy tranquilo prácticamente lo consideran como un día de campo con la ventaja de que puedes nadar.
El hotel cuenta con estacionamiento y tiene distintos tipos de habitaciones que se adaptan a cada presupuesto y gusto, todas tienen baño y regadera privada con agua caliente.
La habitación sencilla tiene un costo de 1,300 pesos y consta de una cama king size para 2 personas e incluye 2 entradas al balneario de un solo día para entrar de 9 de la mañana a 6 de la tarde.
La habitación doble tiene un costo de 1,900 pesos y tiene dos camas matrimoniales para 4 personas y 4 entradas al balneario.
Y la mejor habitación de todas para pareja es la habitación diamante con un costo de 2,100 pesos y es una cama king size para 2 personas con una habitación más grande de lo normal y cuenta con jacuzzi, también incluye las dos entradas para el balneario.
Cómo puedes ver para mi gusto este es el mejor hotel para hospedarse en Tecozautla pero siempre y cuando vengas en auto ya que está sobre la carretera y no está en el mero centro del pueblo mágico, con esto prácticamente terminamos y disfrutamos del resto de la tarde en las albercas.

Tequila (Agave tequilana)
Tequila is a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant, primarily in the area surrounding the city of Tequila 65 km (40 mi) northwest of Guadalajara, and in the Jaliscan Highlands (Los Altos de Jalisco) of the central western Mexican state of Jalisco. The red volcanic soils in the region of Tequila are well suited for growing the blue agave. This cactus grows differently depending on the region. Blue agaves grown in the highlands Los Altos region are larger and sweeter in aroma and taste. Agaves harvested in the valley region have a more herbaceous fragrance and flavor.
Due to its historical and cultural importance, the region near Tequila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006. The distillation technology to produce mezcal from agave heart juice was first introduced from the coastal regions of what was then Nueva Galicia (present-day Aguascalientes, Colima, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nayarit, and Zacatecas) into the highland valleys of Amatitán, Tequila, Magdalena, and El Arenal in the mid-1700s. The mezcal produced in these regions became distinctive enough as to become known as tequila, after the town.
Don Pedro Sánchez de Tagle is considered the first person to produce tequila. In 1595. The Marquis of Altamira grabbed the opportunity of the neglected blue agave plants. He built his first Tequila factory in his Hacienda Cuisillos, one of the largest haciendas during that time and amassed a great fortune. The Marquis is now known today as the Father of Tequila.
Spain's King Carlos IV granted the Cuervo family the first legal license to commercially make tequila. Don Cenobio Sauza, founder of Sauza Tequila and Municipal President of the Village of Tequila from 1884–1885, was the first to export tequila to the United States.

This is the BEST way to travel to Tulum, Chichen Itza, and Playa del Carmen if you are on a BUDGET! Mexico was honestly more expensive than expected and also had the most tourists I have ever seen, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. (Tourist areas typically mean higher prices.) Overall, I was able to do so much without spending more than $500 including flights, hotels, activities, rental cars, food etc. Check out our 4-day experience in this video and see if you think these spots in Mexico are really worth the hype!

Costa Rica MUST SEE: Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges | La Fortuna Rainforest Experience
Visiting the Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges is a thrilling way to experience the rainforest in Costa Rica! You are so many meters above the ground and literally in the midst of clouds walking over and through treetops in this nature preserve. This activity is for those who are not afraid of heights! You are surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of many birds and animals that inhabit the rainforest. As expected in a rainforest, there is the occasional rain shower. However, the sound of the rain adds to the entire ambiance and creates an immersive experience in the cloud forest. It was so much fun crossing over all the hanging bridges that were featured in this park and we even saw a small waterfall! In some cases, you might get lucky and catch a glimpse of the Arenal volcano when it is less foggy outside. You can opt for a guided walking tour or do a self-guided tour since there are many signs all around that describe the details of each of the hanging bridges. It took us a little less than 2 hours to complete the hike through the treetops. This was a cool treetop rainforest adventure that we would recommend if you are visiting Costa Rica!
