Places to see in ( Great Dunmow - UK )
Great Dunmow is a historic market town in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. It is situated on the north of the A120 road, approximately midway between Bishop's Stortford and Braintree, 6 miles east of London Stansted Airport. Originally the site of a Roman settlement on Stane Street, the town thrived during the Middle Ages. Many buildings survive from this period, including a sixteenth-century town hall. Dunmow means Meadow on the Hill. The settlement was variously referred to as Dunmow Magna, Much Dunmow, or most commonly Great Dunmow.
Great Dunmow borders the former estate of Easton Lodge, a country house belonging to the Maynard family. The most notable member, Frances Maynard, became the Countess of Warwick and later a mistress of King Edward VII. As the Prince of Wales he was reportedly a regular visitor to the Estate, travelling from London on the train to Easton Lodge railway station. The initials CW are visible on a number of Victorian era properties in Great Dunmow. Known as Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick she was a generous philanthropist in the local community. As of 2017, Robert Nicholson is Emeritus Mayor of Great Dunmow.
The town's history is explained in the Maltings Museum on Mill Lane. A Roman small town developed on the junction between Stane Street and the Roman roads which ran north-east to south-west from Sudbury to London and north-west to southeast from Cambridge to Chelmsford. The main settlement area spread westwards from the road junction, with cemeteries on the outskirts. There was a second Roman settlement at Church End immediately to the north of present-day Great Dunmow. The site likely included a rural Roman Temple.
Great Dunmow is 8.3 miles (13.4 km) from Braintree railway station (63 minutes to London Liverpool Street) to the east and 9.2 miles (14.8 km) from Bishop's Stortford railway station (45 minutes to London Liverpool Street and 35 minutes to Tottenham Hale) to the west. Until 1952 the town was served by the Bishop's Stortford-Braintree Branch Line a line between these stations, which opened to passengers on 22 February 1869 and closed on 3 March 1952. The line continued in use for freight trains and occasional excursions, closing in stages with the final section to Easton Lodge closing on 17 February 1972. It is now possible to walk or cycle in either direction along the former track bed to Braintree Station, or to the edge of Bishop's Stortford.
( Great Dunmow - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Great Dunmow . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Great Dunmow - UK

Wells, Somerset Virtual Tour | England's Smallest City and Hot Fuzz Filming Location!
We hope you enjoy this Wells, Somerset Virtual Tour through England's Smallest City and Hot Fuzz Filming Location!
Join us for a virtual walking tour through Wells, Somerset (with captions).
Wells is a cathedral city with a medieval centre on the edge of the Mendip Hills. The wonderfully preserved city is dominated by its glorious Gothic cathedral. The city's charming center is surrounded by medieval architecture. It's also famous for the number of movies that have been filmed here, including Hot Fuzz with Simon Pegg. See if you recognise the filming locations from the movie!
Wells has had city status since medieval times, because of the presence of Wells Cathedral. Often described as England's smallest city, it is actually second smallest to the City of London. In this 4K video of Wells, Somerset, we begin our walk at Vicars' Close, the oldest residential street with original buildings surviving intact in Europe.
We continue to walk through the historic centre, taking in Wells cathedral, Wells Market Cross and the moated Bishop's Palace, passing small independent shops and pubs along the way.
We finish our Well's 4k walk at St. Cuthbert's church, Wells. The Church of St Cuthbert is an Anglican parish church in Wells, Somerset, England, dating from the 13th century. It is often mistaken for the cathedral. It has a fine Somerset stone tower and a superb carved roof. It is a Grade I listed building.
You'll see that Wells is a perfect day trip or holiday destination in the UK it really is one of the best UK cities to visit.

The 10 Best Places To Live In Pennsylvania - Job, Retire, & Family - Around The World
Pennsylvania, a northeastern U.S. state and one of the 13 original colonies, has a diverse terrain, which includes wide stretches of farmland,
national forests, and mountains. Philadelphia, the Keystone State’s largest city, displays its rich history in Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, an enduring symbol of American freedom.
Pennsylvania is downright beautiful. It is home to some of the country’s richest history, incredible culture and, yes, a picturesque scenery.
The Appalachian Mountains sit here, and the state has more than 120 state parks, with over 100 miles of coastline, and a varied selection of great towns and cities,
each with its own character.
Mountain climbers will love this state, so will surfers, skydivers, and skiers even, depending on where you are in the state.
Little wonder the Keystone State is widely considered one of the best states to retire.
The natural allure aside, this is a notion mostly driven by other key factors for anyone interested in the hard data:
economic vibrancy (this is the sixth-largest state economy), good health care, school districts that are a cut above the other states, affordability, low rate of homelessness and high quality of life.
Here then, are the 10 best places to live in Pennsylvania to help inform your decision better.
10. Philadelphia. (good to retire, find a job, and raise a family)
9. Pittsburgh. (affordable place to retire, job, raise a family)
8. Scranton. (place for jobs)
7. Allentown. (good for retirees)
6. York.
5. Lancaster. (best place to retire)
4. Reading.
3. Harrisburg. (best place to retire, find a job)
2. Erie. (affordable city for retirees, young professionals)
1. Jefferson Hills. (best place to raise a family)

Easton on the Hill is a village and civil parish at the north eastern tip of North Northamptonshire, England. The village had a population at the 2011 census was 1,015. The village, sited on the A43 road, is compact in form, with the older part of the village located north of the High Street. The parish extends from the River Welland in the north to the western end of RAF Wittering. The village is also on the shortest boundary in England with it being in the northernmost part of Northamptonshire between Stamford and Collyweston
All Saints Church dates from the twelfth century and has been enlarged and altered over the centuries. The church is a Grade I listed building.
The captain of HMS Lutine, Lancelot Skynner, came from Easton, where his father John was the rector for many years. Plaques on the former rectory (now Glebe House but known for a time as Lutine House) and in the church commemorate this and Captain Skynner. The frigate Lutine sank during a storm in the West Frisian Islands on 9 October 1799, whilst carrying a large shipment of gold. Lloyd's of London has preserved her salvaged bell - the Lutine Bell - which is used for ceremonial purposes at their headquarters in London.
Easton on the Hill Rural District existed from 1894 to 1935. The parish has its own parish council and was represented on East Northamptonshire Council and on the county council as part of the Prebendal electoral division. Easton on the Hill is represented in the House of Commons by the Member of Parliament for Corby. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 956 people.

The Forgotten Gardens of Easton Lodge
The Gardens of Easton Lodge is an idyllic (Historic England, Grade II) registered haven which has been partially restored to its former glory by a team of dedicated volunteers. These historic gardens date back over 400 years. Their most renowned owner was the Countess of Warwick, mistress of the Prince of Wales before he acceded to the throne as Edward VII. The Countess commissioned Harold Peto to create stunning formal gardens and a treehouse, in 1902. Abandoned in 1950 after the demolition of the house, the gardens were then forgotten. Today the 23 acres of gardens have a magical atmosphere, as the splendour of a century ago is gently revealed through restoration. The Gardens are open to the public on Thursdays (Mar to end Nov) and (ONLY) 9 open-day Sundays a year.
