Follow us as we walk around the beautiful seaside town of Eastbourne in Sussex. It’s a beautiful place to visit.
Eastbourne is a town we have wanted to video for a long time, it is a pretty seaside town with quite a lot to see. We only scratched the surface of the town centre, we will definitely visit the Seven Sisters and surrounding area next time we visit.
We started off the trip at the train station and walked into the town centre, we stopped off in the beacon shopping centre and walked towards the pier. Winding our way past many shops, including Qualisea which is a famous local fish and chip shop.
Once we arrived at the pier we wanted to play all the arcade games, we were excited and didn’t film all the games we played.
We also saw the historic Eastbourne bandstand which was covered in scaffolding, hopefully it gets some more funding in the near future.
Birdhouse fried chicken restaurant was amazing, it is a newly opened chicken shop in town and we wanted to try their menu.

Eastbourne Pier Walk SeaFront Beach and Things to Do Sussex Coastal Best Beach in Uk Visit Places
One of the finest examples of a Victorian pier, Eastbourne's stunning seafront landmark, Eastbourne Pier, is a must-see attraction if you are visiting this beach resort on the south coast. It’s a construction with much history, Eastbourne pier began on 16 April 1866, and it was opened by Lord Edward Cavendish on 13 June 1870, although it was not actually completed until two years later. On New Year’s Day 1877 the landward half was swept away in a storm. It was rebuilt at a higher level, creating a drop towards the end of the pier. During World War II the decking was removed, and machine guns were installed in the theatre providing a useful point from where to repel any attempted enemy landings. In 1970 the theatre on the pier was destroyed by fire, and in in 2014 the pier caught fire again, this time destroying the large arcade and saloons in the midway. Since then, the pier has since renovated and repainted, with new benches t added to the open deck area and more entertainment provided for visitors.
The pier is roughly 1000 feet long. It is effectively built on stilts that rest in cups on the sea-bed allowing the whole structure to move during rough weather.
It’s a great place to wander, to photograph, to sit awhile, to enjoy the bracing sea air, to take in the views, to enjoy some food and drink, or to try your luck in the amusement hall at the seaward end. It’s been beautifully restored and is visually pleasing to the eye. In my opinion is much nicer than the Brighton Pier further along the coast.
It’s a great attraction which adds to the life of Eastbourne, and it is certainly worth a visit. You’ll get some fine views to the south, along the promenade to the Ferris wheel, the Martello tower, and Beachy Head beyond, and to the north

My personal 5 South England highlights:
1. Take the Euro Tunnel. It is rail tunnel between the United Kingdom (near Dover) and France (near Calais).
At its lowest point, you travel 115 m (380 ft) below the sea level!!
2. White Cliffs of Dover & Dover Castle
3. Eastbourne: Beachy Head Lighthouse & Birling Gap
4. Seven Sisters Cliffs & Cuckmere Haven
You need to see the famous Seven Sisters cliffs and the coastguard cottages, from Seaford Head across the River Cuckmere. They became famous through a couple of movies like Robin Hood (Prince of Thieves), and through the film Atonement where Robbie and Cecilia always wanted to live :)
5.World Heritage Site Stonehenge
The most important prehistoric monuments - Stonehenge.
It was built over 3500(!) years ago. It is assumed, that it was constructed from 3000 to 2000 BC. Nobody knows the meaning and purpose of it, which makes it somehow mystic - that's at least what I thought

Seven Sisters Hike: Seaford to Eastbourne
In this video we're doing the unforgettable and breathtaking Seven Sisters Hike. This hike is from Seaford to Eastbourne and features one of Southern England's most striking landscapes - the white cliffs along the English Channel.
It's called #SevenSisters Hike because of the seven continuous hills that you'll be climbing in one section of the hike. It's impossible to get lost in this #hike as you essentially just follow the coast from Seaford all the way to Eastbourne.
You can do this hike as a day trip from London. So if you have a day to spare, I highly recommend this hike.
