Top 10 PRETTIEST Towns in WEST SUSSEX
What are the 10 prettiest towns in the county of West Sussex? To determine this, I visited them all. Here's what I found out.
As a disclaimer, this list is neither a social commentary, nor a guide on which are the nicest towns to live, but purely a judgement on the aesthetics of each respective town centre.

10 Most Hated Towns in England
What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

A TOUR OF EAST GRINSTEAD, WEST SUSSEX, UNITED KINGDOM. LIFE AFTERLIFE TV PRODUCTIONS.
Welcome to the historic town of East Grinstead, West Sussex, United Kingdom. Paranormal investigations is what we have been putting much of our efforts into but its nice to film locations like this. East Grinstead is a histotic town with alot of beautiful old buildings and different to what we are used to. We filmed this to record and keep our memories of this great place.
East Grinstead Walk: Town Centre【4K】
Located in the county of West Sussex, and around 30 miles south of central London, is the town of East Grinstead.
The name 'Grinstead' literally translates to 'green place', with 'east' added to distinguish it from its namesake West Grinstead around 20 miles away. Geographically it sits at the northwestern fringe of the High Weald AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), with the Greenwich Meridian passing directly through.
At the centre of the town is St Swithun's Church, whose history dates back to the 11th century. The current edifice was rebuilt in the late 18th century following a lightning strike that destroyed the original. The tower was completed in 1812.
In 1247 a market charter was granted to East Grinstead by Henry III. It was in the early 13th century that the town was laid out. It is said to contain the greatest number of jettied timber-framed Tudor and medieval buildings continuously along one street in all the country.
In 1609 Sackville College was founded. This is the Jacobean almshouse seen at the eastern end of the High Street. It was built with funds left by Robert Sackville, Earl of Dorset, for the housing of 21 poor men and 10 poor women. Today it provides sheltered accommodation for the elderly.
From the 17th to 19th century, East Grinstead thrived as a coaching stop for travellers headed to Lewes and the south coast from London and vice versa. A number of coaching inns, where horses would be changed and stagecoach passengers would be provided with refreshment and possibly a bed for the night, received a significant amount of custom in the town, up until the arrival of the railways.
It was in 1855 that the first railway station in East Grinstead opened. This was followed by another station in 1866 and a third in 1882, which is the current station. This is one of the termini of the Oxted Line which connects northwards to London, and branches in two directions south of Oxted - one to Uckfield, and one to here in East Grinstead. There is also a heritage line here known as Bluebell Railway, where steam trains run from here to Sheffield Park around 10 miles to the south.
In 1943 East Grinstead suffered a bombing attack by the German Luftwaffe. The Whitehall Theatre on London Road was hit by a lone bomber during a screening of a Hopalong Cassidy western called Undercover Man. 184 people were in attendance at the time. The attack killed 108 and injured a further 235.
In the aftermath of the bombing, many of those injured were taken to Queen Victoria Hospital about a mile north of the town centre. A specialist burns unit was led by Archibald McIndoe to treat those who had been subject to facial disfigurements. This pioneering service, along with an effort to make those injured feel normal, e.g. inviting them to dinner, led to East Grinstead becoming known as 'The Town That Did Not Stare'. A commemorative statue of McIndoe and a patient is situated at the eastern end of the High Street.

Karen Brown's Gravetye Manor, East Grinstead, England
The Gravetye Manor in the town of East Grinstead, England
Gravetye is a truly handsome Elizabethan manor house set in the most glorious of gardens.
It is one of our favorite English country house hotels.
You catch the spirit of the place as soon as you walk into the oak-paneled hall with its big fireplace and inviting armchairs.
The lovely sitting room with its enormous stone fireplace has the same atmosphere of age-old welcome and comfort.
Bedrooms are elegantly furnished with soft-toned fabrics, which contrast warmly with intricately carved wood paneling.
Firescreens hide televisions and interesting books are close at hand.
You will love the acres of gardens flourishing just as former owner William Robinson, who pioneered the natural look in English gardens, would have wished them to.
His beloved kitchen garden has been restored and chef Rupert Gleadow puts its produce to good use.
Other glorious English gardens within easy driving distance include Sissinghurst and Sheffield Park.
Nearby is Standen, one of the finest Arts and Crafts houses, with furnishings by Morris and Benson.
It's a very handy place to stay for both Glyndebourne and Gatwick airport.

Places to see in ( Haywards Heath - UK )
Places to see in ( Haywards Heath - UK )
Haywards Heath is a town in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, within the historic county of Sussex, England. Haywards Heath lies 36 miles (58 km) south of London, 14 miles (23 km) north of Brighton, 13 miles (21 km) south of Gatwick Airport and 31 miles (50 km) east northeast of the county town of Chichester.
Nearby towns include Burgess Hill to the southwest, Horsham to the northwest, Crawley north-northwest and East Grinstead north-northeast. Being a commuter town with only a relatively small number of jobs available in the immediate vicinity, mostly in the agricultural or service sector, many of the residents commute daily via road or rail to London, Brighton, Crawley or Gatwick for work.
Haywards Heath gets a mention in English Civil War records. Early in December 1642 the High Sheriff of Sussex (Sir Edward Ford) advanced with Royalist troops towards Lewes in East Sussex from Chichester in West Sussex. He was intercepted in Haywards Heath by local Parliamentarians and defeated. Haywards Heath as a settlement is a relatively modern development.
Housing in Haywards Heath has been expanded significantly in the last ten years due to the creation of Bolnore Village, located to the south west of the existing town. Planning permission was first granted in the late 1990s for 780 new homes on a greenfield site. Haywards Heath railway station is a major station on the Brighton Main Line. Some of the train services divide at Haywards Heath before continuing their journey to the south, or join other services before continuing north.
Haywards Heath is primarily served by the A272 road, which runs around the south side of the town. This is the new Haywards Heath by-pass, which was opened (ahead of schedule) in August 2014. It diverts town centre traffic south of the town, just south of Bolnore Village, Ashenground and the Princess Royal Hospital. The old A272 through the town centre is now the B2272. Following the A272 to the west, it joins the A23 road which runs both to Brighton to the south and London to the north.
( Haywards Heath - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Haywards Heath . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Haywards Heath - UK

Sheffield Park and Gardens - the best fall colors (National Trust)
I visit Sheffield Park and Gardens, owned by the National Trust during its peak autumn colours, or fall colors depending on where in the world you're viewing this from. I learn about the gardens past with both Capability Brown's involvement in the original design, to Arthur Soames, the park's involvement in World War 2 and the National Trust taking it over.
This can be done as a wonderful day trip from London by train as Sheffield Park and Gardens are in East Sussex. Trains depart either London Victoria or London Bridge for East Grinstead (end of the normal line) You'll then need to purchase a ticket for the privately operated Bluebell Railway line which is a beautiful, romantic, old steam train. This will take you from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park and is an event in itself.
It's a 10-ish minute walk from the station to Sheffield Park and Garden's entrance. It's well sign posted and aside from the initial busy road you must cross upon leaving the station, the rest of the walk is across lovely English countryside fields filled with friendly farmer's sheep. This is a spectacular part of South East England
