10 Places in Tennessee You Shouldn't Move To
We can reel off the numerous beauties of Tennessee. In the Volunteer State, there’s plenty of sunshine and lots of wide open spaces. There are plenty of fabulous places that are truly ideal to live in, nice to visit, and convenient to raise families in this state. We have videos on this channel where we have itemized those cute locations. However, the state has a large number of places that outright suck. These are the worst places to live in Tennessee where you won’t want to move to if you can heputlp it. We can be friends if our thoughts on this are something you can consider. This video shows you the 10 places in Tennessee you shouldn’t move to. 10. Crossville Our heart goes out to over 11,000 residents of Crossville because of its unemployment rate which is 12.8 percent. Due to this, the poverty rate in the city is about 22.5 percent. Its median income is only 667 dollars. Considering that, you may rightly wonder how many residents of Crossville would be able to buy a home with a median value of 177,600 dollars or those that won’t default on the median rent of 667 dollars. No wonder it has such a high crime rate of 4,669.8 per 100,000 people which is about 99.05 percent above the national average. If you choose to ignore our advice and move to this city, please note that your chance of being robbed there is 1 in 10 if you spend a year or so there. 9. Dyersburg We don’t know how the people in Dyersburg would receive this. But they already know that no one will advise anyone to move to their small city. The only thing that can attract people to this place is its cheap home value. On a positive note, it has the cheapest homes in the entire state. While cheap homes are a welcome development, there’s nothing else to sustain life in the place. Though it’s called the Gateway to Everywhere, it’s not the gateway to prosperity and rest of mind. If it’s a gateway to anything, it is to crime and poverty. The employment rate here is just 8 percent. The crime rate in this historic southern town in the far northeast of the state is 6,797 per 100,000 people. 8. Newport If you move far east of Tennessee, you will find Newport. Just don’t plan to spend many days there as it’s one of the 10 places in Tennessee you shouldn’t move to in the first place. With a property crime rate of a whole 7,180 per 100,000. With less than 7,000 residents, this high crime rate is inadmissible. In this isolated city, crime is prevalent as it has the overall crime rate in Tennessee; the rate is three times higher than the national average. Its property crime rate is by far the highest in the state. If you move to this place, your chance of having your belonging stolen or your property damaged is 1 in 13 if the rate in 2020 is still anything to go by

That is what this video is about. Towns with serious problems. If you have ever thought about moving to rural or small-town Tennessee you probably would want to stay away from these areas. Bartlett TN to Dyersburg TN (Previously Unreleased Video from 2016)
Five and a half years ago, we went on a quick day trip to Union City TN to go to Discovery Park. I was originally was going to record the drive from Bartlett all the way to Union City, but however, my old camcorder (Toshiba Camileo S20) couldn't record the rest of the drive from Dyersburg to Union City due to malfunctioning, but at least it did record the drive from Bartlett up to Dyersburg, which is about most of the drive. The vehicle used in this video is a 2009 Kia Sorento.
NOTE #1: Again, sorry for the shaky camera, my old Toshiba Camileo S20 was a little too thin to stand up without a tripod.

Interstate 69 - Troy - Dyersburg - Tennessee | Drive America's Highways 🚙
Ride the entire completed segment of Interstate 69 in Tennessee from TN183 south of Troy to the southern terminus at Interstate 155 / U.S. 412 in Dyersburg.
NOTE: Google shows this as Interstate 69 and TDOT confirms it is officially I-69 now. However, there are no signs indicating this is now I-69 along the route itself as of June 2017. There is, however, a 'future I-69' sign somewhere near Troy.

Lorraine Motel, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, United States, North America
The National Civil Rights Museum is a complex of museums and historic buildings in Memphis, Tennessee; its exhibits trace the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the 17th century to the present. The museum is built around the former Lorraine Motel, where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. Two other buildings and their adjacent property, also connected with the King assassination, have been acquired as part of the museum complex. The museum reopened in 2014 after renovations that increased the number of multi-media and interactive exhibits, including numerous short movies to enhance features. The museum is owned and operated by the Lorraine Civil Rights Museum Foundation, based in Memphis. The Lorraine Motel is owned by the Tennessee State Museum and leased long term to the Foundation to operate as part of the museum complex. On October 21, 2016, the museum was honored by becoming a Smithsonian Affiliate museum. The site began as the 16-room Windsorlorrine Hotel around 1925 and was later known as the Marquette Hotel. In 1945, Walter Bailey purchased it and renamed it for his wife Loree and the song Sweet Lorraine. During the segregation era, Bailey operated the motel as upscale lodging that catered to a black clientele. He added a second floor, a swimming pool, and drive-up access for more rooms on the south side of the complex. He changed the name from Lorraine Hotel to Lorraine Motel. Among its guests through the 1960s were musicians going to Stax Records, including Ray Charles, Lionel Hampton, Aretha Franklin, Ethel Waters, Otis Redding, the Staple Singers and Wilson Pickett. Following the assassination of King, Bailey withdrew Room 306 (where King died) and the adjoining room 307 from use, maintaining them as a memorial to the activist leader. Bailey's wife, Loree, suffered a stroke hours after the assassination and died five days later. Bailey reduced the operation by converting the other motel rooms to single room occupancy for low-income residential use.
A Fun Trip To Ada's Unusual Country Store!
Ada's Unusual Country Store is a must visit if you're in Southwest Tennessee! Located in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, just south of Henderson, this Amish country store has just about anything you might need to satisfy your hunger, either at the restaurant or with some of the massive selection of baking goods you'll find!
We ate at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised! We didn't know what to expect, but based on the number of people ordering (there were tons!) we figured it had to be good. Cornbread had a delicious hamburger while Cupcake tried the Cajun Crab sandwich and both were amazing! After our completely satisfying meal we spent a while going through the aisles with a huge selection of spices, flours, teas, candy and lots more, all at very affordable prices! We tried several items including a piece of german chocolate cake, a thick chocolate oatmeal cookie and a whoopie pie - all delicious! Cupcake also bought several spices to try out, as well as several flavorful teas. This really is a cool store and restaurant and I'm very glad we stopped in!
