TOP 10 Countries in Europe With the Most Immigrants

IMPORTANT NOTE: The terms expats and immigrants are sometimes used and understood differently in different countries. We have followed the terminology used by the UK's Immigration Advice Service: The basic definition of an immigrant is someone who travels to a foreign country with the intention of settling there permanently. Therefore, in this video, the terms expats and immigrants have been used interchangeably, and are completely devoid of any political or racial meaning.

In 4 European Countries, Migrants Make Up at Least a Quarter of the Population, and in Two They Are Even More Than Half.
Europe has always been a land of immigration. In fact, in 2022, more than 3.7 million people emigrated within the European Union alone. This includes both Europeans who moved to another country on the continent and non-Europeans who came to live in Europe. The latter represent 5.4% of the population currently living in Europe.

Welcome to this new video from Amazing Europe titled TOP 10 Countries in Europe With the Most Immigrants.

In this TOP 10, we will see which are the 10 European countries with the highest percentage of migrants, according to data provided by EUROSTAT or the statistical institutes of the various European states. At the end of the video, we will also take a look at the European microstates to discover some very interesting information.

The data we have reported is the official data from EUROSTAT and refers to the year 2022.
Obviously, for non-EU countries, the data provided is not from EUROSTAT, but from the statistical offices of each individual country.

If you want any information about your country that is not on this list, please ask in the comments.

We Went To Italy's CRAZIEST Festival 🇮🇹 | North Italy Travel | Ivrea

A festival where you throw oranges at medieval guards might not sound Italian but it's one of the best festivals celebrated during carnival in North Italy. This takes places in a small town of Ivrea in the Piedmont region. Today we want to take you to the opening day of this Carnival celebration and show you what battle of the oranges is really like!

The Battle of the Oranges is a unique and colorful festival that takes place in Ivrea, a town in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. This event is part of the Ivrea Carnival, which is one of the oldest and most famous carnivals in Italy, attracting thousands of participants and spectators every year. The battle usually occurs in February, in the days leading up to Lent.

Historical Significance
The festival commemorates the town's insurrection against tyranny. According to popular legend, the battle reenacts a medieval event where the townspeople revolted against a tyrannical ruler. The story goes that the ruler attempted to exercise the jus primae noctis (right of the first night) on a miller's daughter, Violetta. She resisted and decapitated the tyrant, which sparked a popular uprising. The throwing of oranges symbolizes the stones and other objects that the townspeople would have used during the revolt.

Why Oranges?
The use of oranges as weapons is a relatively recent tradition, starting in the 19th century. Initially, beans were thrown, and then apples. The switch to oranges came later, though the exact reason for the change is unclear. Some suggest it might relate to the abundance of oranges in southern Italy, making them a relatively cheap and plentiful ammunition. The oranges represent the stones thrown by the villagers at the castle to signify the fight for freedom.

Little Red Hats
Participants often wear a red Phrygian cap, a symbol of liberty and freedom that dates back to ancient times. Wearing this cap during the battle signifies opposition to tyranny, in line with the festival's historical roots. It also helps to mark festival-goers who do not wish to be targeted directly by orange-throwers, offering a degree of protection amidst the chaos.

Nine Teams
The battle involves nine combat teams that represent different historical districts or groups within Ivrea. Each team has its own unique identity, history, and costume. The teams are part of a structured competition, with points awarded for hits and other factors determined by judges who oversee the event. This structure adds a competitive element to the reenactment, making it more than just a chaotic fruit fight.

Duration of the Battle
The Battle of the Oranges spans over three days, typically taking place in the latter part of the Ivrea Carnival. The event is highly organized despite its chaotic appearance, with specific times and locations for the battles. Safety measures are taken seriously, with nets protecting buildings and spectators, and medical staff on standby.

The festival is deeply ingrained in the cultural identity of Ivrea and is a significant draw for tourists. Beyond the spectacle of the orange battles, the event includes parades, historical reenactments, and other festivities that celebrate the town's heritage and the spirit of community resistance against oppression.

Why DON'T People Visit SAN MARINO? A Hidden Gem of Europe

I visited the world's fifth smallest country, San Marino, and explored everything there is to do in this hidden gem of Europe.

Just around 33 500 people live in San Marino, at an area of 61 square kilometers. It's one of three countries in the world that's completely landlocked inside another country. The other two are the Vatican and Lesotho - but this is definitely the most beautiful of the landlocked countries.

The most famous landmark of San Marino is probably the three towers located on the three peaks of Mount Titano, which is where the capital of San Marino is also located. The three towers are called Guaita, Cesta and Montale. Montale, the third tower, is not open to the public, but the other two are well worth a visit.

I also explore other things to do in San Marino, ranging from getting a San Marino visa at an exporbitant cost, looking at the Basilica di San Marino, looking at the different museums in the city, such as the impressive State Museum, and watching the changing of the guard at Piazza della Liberta, by the Palazzo Pubblico.

The Palazzo Pubblico also serves as San Marino's town hall, and it's an absolutely gorgeous place that's lit up at night.

Aside from beautiful views this video also dives into the history of San Marino, and various other places to visit, like Borgo Maggiore, a nearby town. There's surprisingly lot ot see in such a small country, so I hope you will find this interesting!

Join us as we explore the enchanting city of Venice, Italy. Our journey begins with a search for the world's first ghetto, Ghetto Ebraico, a place steeped in 500 years of history. We then dive into the local culture, getting lost in the charming neighborhoods of Venice, and discovering hidden gems along the way.

Experience the thrill of a gondola ride, a quintessential Venetian adventure that's easier on the wallet than you might think. We also take you to the bustling Rialto Market, where you can find everything from fresh produce to unique souvenirs.

Foodies will love our tour of Venice's culinary scene. We sample cicchetti, Venice's answer to Spanish tapas, and sip on local wines. Our journey culminates in the iconic St. Mark's Square, before heading to the picturesque Ponte della Paglia.

Throughout our adventure, we share practical travel tips to help you make the most of your visit to Venice. Whether you're planning a trip or just dreaming of Venice, this video is for you.

FIERE D'ARTE - 10 cose da sapere sulle fiere in Italia e all'estero

4. Devo prenotare un biglietto prima di andare?
5. Come organizzare il giro?
6. Chi sceglie quali gallerie partecipano a una fiera d'arte?
7. Posso chiedere informazioni sull’opera e il prezzo?

S23EP12 | GREECE An Early Morning Mission

In this video we make our way from the city of Ioannina to Meteora. METEORA is vast complex of giant rock pillars where monasteries, perched on the peaks of the sandstone cliffs, creates a truly surreal and unique landscape. Meteora today is the largest archaeological site of Greece in terms of the area that it covers. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989 and an official holy place for Greece since 1995.

We really appreciate when people offer us advice or make suggestions for our next visit. Please don't make assumptions or be rude. To us or to each other.
