5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe
Grab some of our gear
Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!
Grab a Wolters World Shirt
Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.
We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.
Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.
Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here
Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

San Diego to Los Angeles Drive - 15 Beautiful Stops
#sandiego #californiaroadtrip #sandiegocounty
Planning a road trip from San Diego to LA? In this video, we’re going to highlight some of our favorite stops on the San Diego to Los Angeles drive.
Making the drive from Los Angeles to San Diego? Simply reverse the order of these suggestions.
Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre sprawling city park with beautiful Mediterranean and Spanish architecture and close to 20 museums to visit.
Traveling with kids? Grab a copy of our Balboa Park Scavenger Hunt for Kids -
La Jolla is known as the jewel of San Diego. There are plenty of opportunities for enjoying all of the beauty La Jolla has to offer. Rent a kayak, go snorkeling, explore a sea cave, take a coastal stroll, or hang out with the locals. With water so clear, the tidepools in La Jolla are a must.
Not too far down the road from La Jolla is Gliderport in Torrey Pines, Southern California's premiere site for paragliding and hang gliding. Call the day you’re planning to visit to see if they’ll be flying, as flights are dependent on the weather and wind speeds.
Next, head to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. Go for a hike on one of the many trails and take in views of the rare Torrey pine and maritime chaparral, along with miles of unspoiled beaches and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds.
Traveling with kids? Grab a copy of our Torrey Pines Scavenger Hunt for Kids -
Further up the coast, you’ll find calming meditation gardens tucked away at the Self-Realization Fellowship in Encinitas. These internationally renowned gardens feature plenty of spots for you to pause, reflect, and meditate.
Some of our favorite things to do in the beachside town of San Clemente are to walk the beach trail, go out on the pier, or catch the train for a ride along the coast. The sunsets can be pretty spectacular here, too!
Dana Point is a great location to head out for a whale watching tour. The tidepools at the beach behind the Ocean Institute in the Dana Point Harbor provide a great opportunity for discovering local marine-life.
Another way to view local wildlife is to visit the Dana Point Headlands Conservation Area. This area contains over 150 species of plants and animals that are native to coastal Southern California.
Mission San Juan Capistrano is known as the Jewel of the California Missions. This mission was founded in 1776 as the 7th of 21 total missions found throughout the state.
Treasure Island Park is one of our favorite places in Laguna. The views here are unrivaled. If time permits, head to Victoria Beach next door to lay eyes on the distinctive Pirate Tower.
Another favorite destination of ours in Laguna is Crescent Bay Beach. We consider this to be one of the premier locations in Laguna for tidepooling. Make sure you visit when the tide is low, less than 1.5 feet is preferred. When visiting the tidepools be very aware of your surroundings and watch your step. Simply observe and do not disrupt this fragile marine habitat.
Crystal Cove State Park offers 3.2 miles of beach and 2,400 acres of backcountry wilderness for hiking. Other great features include fun little caves to explore and unique rock formations.
Traveling with kids? Grab a copy of our Crystal Cove State Park Scavenger Hunt for Kids -
Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is a 1,300-acre coastal estuary in Huntington Beach. Over 200 species of birds have been identified in the variety of habitats here.
Rancho Pales Verdes is a coastal city just south of the city of Los Angeles, atop the bluffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and a little off the beaten path. Main highlights include miles of coastal walking trails and the Point Vicente Lighthouse and its accompanying Interpretive Center. The Wayfarers Chapel, designed by architect Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, is an architectural masterpiece and one of the world's most beautiful and evocative Organic Modern designs.
UPDATE: The Wayfarers Chapel & Grounds are closed to the public until further notice, as they had to disassemble the iconic structure to save it from landslide destruction.
Our final recommended stop requires a detour… and a boat ride, or a helicopter ride if you’re feeling super adventurous. Catalina Island lies 22 miles of the mainland and is the perfect Southern California day trip… or truthfully, it’s a vacation in and of itself!

Standing on the most southwesterly point of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Point Vicente Lighthouse has long been one of this area's jewels. To the landsman, the lighthouse is scenic delight and continual attraction to sightseers, tourists, photographers and painters. To the mariner, the lighthouse is an aid to navigation which marks the northern end of the Catalina Channel on the Pacific coast. It helps him plot his position and warns him to avoid the rocky schoals which surround the nearby shore and, in a heavy fog, its horn will warn him if he gets too close to the dangerous shore.
The point was originally named in 1790 by Captain George Vancouver. Vancouver explored the Pacific coast for England in his 90 foot sloop Discovery. He named the point for his good friend Friar Vicente of the Mission Buenaventura. He also named Point Fermin in a similar manner.
Before the installation of lighthouses on the Pacific coast, many ships and seamen went to their graves on its rocky schoals. Shipmasters deplored this dangerous stretch of coastal water. On May 1,1926 their petitions were answered when the U.S. Lighthouse Service began the operation of the brightest beacon in Southern California, Point Vicente Lighthouse. The 1000 watt bulb, focused through a five foot lens, could be seen over twenty miles. The lens, hand ground by Paris craftsmen in 1886, saw forty years of service in Alaska before its installation here.
Abalone Cove Park features 2 beaches (Abalone Cove and Sacred Cove), tidepools, bluff top viewing areas and trails crisscrossing the area. The park contains a State Ecological Preserve and taking of protected animals and marine life is prohibited. There is direct access to a parking lot off Palos Verdes Drive South. Access to Abalone Cove Beach is by a long trail from the parking lot. To access Sacred Cove, users must walk along Palos Verdes Drive South to 1 of 2 trails between Portuguese and Inspiration Points. Lifeguards are on duty at Abalone Cove Beach during summer hours and weekends only. The views of the ocean and Catalina Island are spectacular. Barbeques and fires are prohibited at this site. Dogs are prohibited on the beach; however, on-leash dogs are permitted in the upper picnic area and on designated trails.
Wayfarers Chapel, or The Glass Church is located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. It has unique organic architecture sited on cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. It is affiliated with the Swedenborgian Church of North America and serves as a memorial to the 18th century scientist and theosopher, Emanuel Swedenborg.
The church was designed by Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright) in the late 1940s and was built between 1949 and 1951. Wright departed from the tradition of using masonry in order to achieve a delicate enclosure that allows the surrounding landscape to define the sacred space. Additions were built in later years, including a tower and a visitor center, the latter of which had been lost in a landslide during the 1960s.
As with many of Wright's buildings, the chapel features geometric designs and incorporates the natural landscape into the design. The Wayfarers Chapel is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Because of its scenic location, the church is popular for weddings.

San Francisco: The GOOD, The BAD, The UGLY (California Documentary)
San Francisco, California — a city so beautiful it’s hard to believe it’s real. Yet at the same time, it is gritty and dystopian, its underbelly fully exposed for the world to see. In this travel documentary, explore the nature and geography of this 7x7 peninsula, take a closer look at the quirky, colorful Victorian architecture and the history behind it, visit one of the most iconic Victorians in town (that looks like the Addam's Family mansion), and walk through the Tenderloin, a complex neighborhood that is ground zero of San Francisco's homeless and drug crisis and home to the city's Southeast Asian immigrants.

The #Photowalks series is all about bringing viewers to cool places in the Southern California (and elsewhere) area in search of the best photo spots to light up your social media, and to show how, when and where to get them.
Past #Photowalk episodes include visits to Catalina Island, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Balboa Island, the Griffith Observatory and Venice Beach. We went outside the area to trek to Pismo Beach, a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Tokyo and Kauai.

One of America's Top 10 Swimming holes - Slide Rock: Sedona's Epic Water Playground Exposed
Take a dip in one of America’s top 10 most beautiful swimming holes.
Just seven miles north of Sedona, in an area called Oak Creek Canyon, Slide Rock State Park offers a day of fun: picnicking, hiking, biding and whooshing down the Oak Creek’s natural water slide. It is a popular destination, so the best time to visit Slide Rock is early or during off-peak times. Parking spots are limited and pulling off along the main road (AZ State Route 89A) is prohibited.
