Russia has launched a full-scale military attack on Ukraine that opened with air and missile attacks on Ukrainian military facilities before troops and tanks rolled across the borders from the north, east and south.

Russian forces 'strike Ukrainian arms depot near Rivne with long-range weapons'
Russia's Defence Ministry on Wednesday claims Russian forces hit a Ukrainian arms depot outside the country's northwestern city of Rivne on Tuesday, destroying an arsenal of weapons and equipment.
The ministry said it had struck the depot using high-precision, long-range weapons fired from the sea.
Russian defence ministry spokesman, Igor Konashenkov said: On the evening of March 22, high-precision long-range sea-based weapons struck an arms depot in Orzhiv, 14 kilometres northwest of Rivne city.
As a result of the strike, a large depot of weapons and military equipment of the Ukrainian troops, including those received from Western countries, was destroyed.”

Russian President, in a chilling video, has issued a strong warning against scum and traitors who he said are conspiring with the US and its allies against Russia. The sulking Russian President, who's reportedly frustrated over the fact that Russian forces are not able to make big headway in the capital city of Kyiv, has vowed to cleanse such people from Russian land.
Putin was lashing out at domestic critics in a televised video. He said Western countries are trying to destroy Russia, which is facing one of the toughest sanctions against any country in the world that has sunken its economy.

Any people, and particularly the Russian people, will always be able to tell apart the patriots from the scum and traitors and spit them out like a midge that accidentally flew into their mouths, Putin said.
He went further: I am convinced that this natural and necessary self-cleansing of society will only strengthen our country, our solidarity, cohesion and readiness to meet any challenge.
Putin's remarks came two days after a producer at Channel One, Russia's state-run media channel, interrupted the news abruptly to lodge a protest against the war in Ukraine. They are lying to you, read the sign the protesting woman, Marina Ovsyannikova, held when she stood behind the news anchor.
Russia has repeatedly said it's an ongoing war with Russia is not aggression but a special military operation to protect breakaway Ukrainian regions. Putin has said the Ukrainian government is being run by neo-nazi thugs and drug addicts who want to destroy Russia.
Despite all these claims, Russian forces have attacked residential buildings and cities, causing a huge number of civilian casualties in Ukraine and forcing over 1.5 million to flee the country.

President Joe Biden called Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin a war criminal over his bloody invasion of neighbouring Ukraine. I think he is a war criminal, Biden told reporters. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Biden was speaking from his heart after seeing images on television of barbaric actions by a brutal dictator through his invasion of a foreign country.

The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR or DNR; Russian: Донецкая Народная Республика, tr. Donetskaya Narodnaya Respublika, IPA: [dɐˈnʲetskəjə nɐˈrodnəjə rʲɪˈspublʲɪkə]) is a self-proclaimed breakaway state located in Ukraine, formed on 7 April 2014. The capital city and largest city within the DPR is Donetsk. Denis Pushilin has served as the DPR head of state since 2018.
Ukraine regards both the DPR and the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) as terrorist organizations.Ukraine considers them to be part of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as a result of Russian military intervention, together with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.The DPR and the Ukrainian government estimate that around 2 million people – over half of the total population of Donetsk Oblast – live in DPR-held regions. Although the rebels do not govern most of Donetsk Oblast in terms of area, only controlling 7,853 square kilometres (3,032 sq mi), they hold major cities such as Donetsk (the capital), Makiivka, and Horlivka.
On 21 February 2022, Russia officially recognised the DPR and the LPR as independent states, becoming the first UN member state to do so. Russia had formerly already recognised identity documents, diplomas, birth- and marriage-certificates, and vehicle registration plates issued by the DPR since February 2017.Both republics are at the center of the 2021–2022 Russo-Ukrainian crisis.
