In this video I have explored 4 places that you can visit near bikaner during your weekends.

The first one is Karni Mata Mandir which is in Deshnoke almost 30 km from Bikaner. The temple is dedicated to Karni Mata and the temple is famous for approximately 25,000 black rats. The temple draws visitors from across the country for blessings, as well as curious tourists from around the world.

The second place is Devi Kund Sagar which is almost 9 km from Bikaner. Devi Kund Sagar is the cremation ground of Bikaner Royal family and consists of several royal cenotaphs or chhatris of brave rulers of Bika dynasty. The cenotaphs of the earlier rulers of Bikaner are in Dulmera red stone and the later ones are made of marble.

Third place is Kodamdesar Temple which is almost 26 km from Bikaner is a Hindu temple situated at Kodamdesar village. Kodamdesar Temple is dedicated to Lord Bhairon Ji, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Interestingly, the Temple is completely open, having no rooms and doors. There is only a huge idol of Bhairon Ji at the centre.

Fourth one is Gajner Palace which is almost 32 km from Bikaner. The Palace was built by Maharaja Sir Ganga Singh Ji. The Maharaja used the palace as a summer home and it was often used as a hunting lodge during Edwardian times, where the Maharaja of Bikaner would entertain his guests.

Karni Mata Temple (Hindi: करणी माता मंदिर) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Karni Mata at Deshnoke, 30 km from Bikaner, in Rajasthan, India. It is also known as the Temple of Rats.
The temple is famous for the approximately 25,000 black rats and a few white rats (which are rarest to be seen) that live, and are revered, in the temple. These holy rats are considered as Depawat Charanas in previous birth, these both take birth in a cycle of humans and mice respectively. Many people travel great distances to pay their respects.
Junagarh Fort is a fort in the city of Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. The fort was originally called Chintamani and was renamed Junagarh or Old Fort in the early 20th century when the ruling family moved to Lalgarh Palace outside the fort limits. It is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan which is not built on a hilltop.

Junagarh Fort
This is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan which is not built on a hilltop, and was built in the righ of Raja Rai Singh, the sixth ruler of Bikaner, who ruled from 1571 to 1611 AD. Construction was completed in 1594.

Camel Breeding Farm
The National Research Centre on Camel breeds the best camels in Bikaner and conducts research related to the ship of the desert.

Lalgarh Palace
The palace was built between 1902 and 1926 and displays a mix of Rajput, Mughal and European architectural styles. The building was commissioned by the British controlled regency for Maharaja Ganga Singh (1881–1942) while he was still a minor; he named the palace after his father Maharaja Lall Singh. The three-storey complex is coated in red sandstone quarried from the Thar Desert.

Karni Mata Temple of Deshnoke (Hindi: करणी माता मंदिर), also known as Madh Deshnoke, is a prominent Hindu temple dedicated to Karni Mata at the town of Deshnoke, located 30 km south of Bikaner, in Rajasthan. It has become the most important pilgrimage site for devotees of Charani sagatis after access to Hinglaj was restricted following the partition of India. The temple is also a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims and is renowned, both in India and internationally, mistakenly as the “Temple of Rats” due to the numerous black rats (Rattus rattus) known as kābā which are considered holy and treated with utmost care by the devotees but the temple actually belongs to the deity Karni Mata and hence the name Karni Mata Temple. This is sometimes upheld as exemplary of an environmentally conscious Hindu ethos. The temple draws visitors from across the country for blessings, as well as curious tourists from around the world.[1][2]

The temple was originally constituted 500 years ago, around 1530 CE, after the mahaprayan of Karni Mata. It initially began with the inner sanctum covered by the dome and grew in size with constructions being added by the devotees throughout the centuries.
