Somuncu Baba kimdir? Anadolu’nun manevi mimarlarındandır. Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Hazretleri başta olmak üzere bir çok talebe yetiştirerek Osmanlı Devleti’nin manevi anlamda büyümesinde ve gelişmesinde büyük katkısı olmuş bir Allah dostudur. “Somuncu Baba“ lakâbıdır. İsmi kaynaklarda; Hamid-i Veli, Şeyh Hamidi Veli, Hamidüddün-i Veli, Hamid Hamideddin-i Veli gibi şekillerde geçmektedir.
Şeyh Hamid-i Veli Somuncu Baba Hazretleri 1331 yılında Kayseri’nin Akçakaya köyünde dünyaya gelmiştir. Babası Anadolu’ya manevi fetih için gelen Horasan erenlerinden Şemsettin Musa Efendi’dir. Osmanlı Padişahlarından Yıldırım Beyazıt Han zamanında yaşayan Hamidi Veli, Peygamber Efendimiz(sav)’in 24. kuşak soyundan asil bir seyyid’dir. İlk eğitimini babasından almış daha sonra ilim tahsilini Şam, Tebriz, Hoy ve Erdebil’de sürdürmüştür. The Old Town of Arapgir [Malatya / Turkey]
The old town of Arapgir was founded by the Armenian King Senek'erim-Hovhannes in 1021, who had exchanged his kingdom for estates in the central lands of the Byzantine Empire.It remained under Byzantine Empire's control until 1071, when the Seljuk dynasty conquered the city. In the fourteenth century the Ottoman Empire gained the city from the Seljuks Under Ottoman rule, Arapgir was part of Mamuret-el-Aziz Province. The town was famous for the grapes and mulberries that grew in the area. The city was known as Arabraces during Byzantine rule.
Arapgir was the site of a fascinating story of rising textile imports and industrial growth as of the 1830s. In 1836, some 1,000 looms in Arapgir were weaving cotton goods from British yarn and by 1907, some 1,200. Durability and color fastness of locally made manusa textile also retained its competitive position. The city grew larger than the province center of Harput and a municipal administration was established in 1883.

A park on the side of a hill with lots of water features. A man-made waterfall running through a concrete canal and getting stronger at each upper cascade is the main attraction. The park surrounds a small hydropower plant harnessing the power of the waterfall although the plant is not open for visits. Some open-air cafes line the cascading water canal.

Somuncu Baba Mosque - Darende [Malatya / Turkey]
Somuncu Baba is one of the virtuous men who came to Anadolu for spiritual conquest, he was also a descendant of Islamic prophet Muhammad After receiving an education in cities which are the center of knowledge like Şam, Tabriz, Erdebil, he settled in Bursa for his guidance and duty. He taught at the Bursa Grand Mosque where he was installed by Sultan Bayezid I after it was completed. For hiding his sipiritual side, he baked bread and sold them so he was known as Somuncu Baba. He became known after he had translated the sura of Al-Fatiha, in seven different ways during the opening of Bursa Grand Mosque, in Bursa. He avoided becoming famous so he left Bursa and moved Aksaray. He left his son Yusuf Hakiki Baba in Aksaray and he went to Mecca with his son Halil Taybi when they got back to Anadolu they settled in Darende and he died here in 1412. His tomb is still in Darende.
With the help of Es-Seyyid Osman Hulusi Efendi Foundation, it has another mosque,a library, museum and an exhibition hall and it became a complex of building with restoration. With its excursion, it is an attractive center of local and foreign tourists.

Darende İlçesi'nin Zaviye Mahallesi’nde bulunan Somuncu Baba Türbesi, Somuncu Baba Camii ve Balıklı Göl ile bir arada bulunur. Türbede yapım tarihine ait bilgi bulunmamakla birlikte caminin minaresi 1686 tarihlidir. Caminin ortasında türbe bulunmakta ve onun içerisinde de Cumhuriyet devri ahşap işçiliği ile yapılmış bir sanduka yer almaktadır.
Türbeyi içinde muhafaza eden Şeyh Hamit-i Veli Zaviyesi’ne ait olan caminin yıkılması ile yerine bugünkü taş ve ahşap malzemeden inşa edilen cami yapılmıştır. Caminin güney yönünde dikdörtgen bir oda vardır. Bugün kütüphane olarak kullanılmaktadır. Türbe içinde taş mimarili kabirler bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca caminin bodrum katında, Somuncu Baba Müzesi bulunmaktadır. #somuncubaba #darende #malatya

Somuncu Baba is a Seyyid who lived during the reign of Yıldırım Beyazıt. He is known as the pole of the time in which he lived. He generally hid his spiritual identity, lived as an ordinary person, and earned his living as a baker.
Somuncu Baba’s real name is Hamid Hamidüddin-i Veli. He was born in Kayseri in 1331. He has been interested in science since his childhood. His first teacher is his father. As he grew up, he received education from important teachers in places such as Tabriz, Damascus, Khoy and Ardabil. It is accepted that he received education from the spirituality of Bayezid-i Bistami.
Somuncu Baba raised students wherever he was, without revealing his spiritual identity. He was in places such as Bursa, Kayseri, Aksaray and Darende and was engaged in education there. During his time in Aksaray, Hacı Bayram Veli, who was considered the spiritual owner of Ankara, was among his students.
