Damnoen Saduak Floating Market Tour Thailand Top Places to Visit
Damnoen Saduak floating market is a real treat and one that mustn't be missed when visiting Thailand. The old traditional way of selling and buying goods in Bangkok but now a unique tourist experience where you can still buy souvenirs and also enjoy the delicious Thai food cooked on the canal boats.
This is about an 1.5 - 2 hours away from Bangkok and we hired a local tourist guide to pick us up and take us to the location. Great service from them and we also took in a local coconut plantations detour - with some delicious samples of their coconut milk.
All details below of the tour guide below. Let me know what you think of the floating market and if you have been
Wikipedia - Damnoen Saduak floating market in Damnoen Saduak District is undoubtedly the largest and most well-known floating market among Thai and foreign tourists. It is located in Ratchaburi Province, about 100 km southwest of Bangkok. The market is open every day from around 0630 to 1100 hr, but the best time to visit is in the early morning. The market is crowded with hundreds of vendors and purchasers floating in their small boats selling and buying agricultural products and local food, which are mostly brought from their own nearby orchards. It is a very attractive place for tourists to see the old style and traditional way of selling and buying goods.

Floating Market Bangkok Thailand Damnoen Saduak - Part 2
Damnoen Saduak floating market, one of Thailand's most well-known tourist attractions. The market gets its name from the canal that it sits upon, the canal was dug in the reign of King Rama IV by soldiers from 3 provinces, Ratchaburi, Samutsakorn and Samutsongkram to connect 2 of Thailand's main rivers, kickstarting the country's economic growth. Our journey takes you from the busy capital to the tranquil countryside just two hours out of Bangkok passing rice fields and salt farms along the way and after a short stop at a local coconut sugar factory we arrive at the jetty to transfer to long-tailed boat that takes you into the heart of Damnoen Saduak floating market.
