Travelling through Mindanao: From Bukidnon to Davao City by Bus, Philippines

In this video I take the bus from Malaybalay, Bukidnon to Davao, Mindinao.
I spent the month of June this year visiting places in the Red Zone from Dapitan down to Zamboanga city.

I love Mindanao island. I’ve now been back in Mindanao since the beginning of October, so exactly a month. My intention for this visit was to revisit a couple of places I’ve been before, spend a longer period of time in Cagayan De Oro - which totalled almost 3 weeks, then continue south towards Davao. I have travelled this bus route before down to Davao but just drove through Malaybalay city rather than getting off the bus, which if you watched my previous video didn’t really offer much.

So my intention was to visit Tagum city where I’ve not been before. But now I’m heading straight to Davao. I hadn’t scheduled being in Davao for at least another week so I’ve needed to look at hotels whilst enroute. That’s the beauty of having the internet nowadays. Years ago I’d just turn up at blind in a city not knowing where I’m gonna stay. But the internet has made travelling a lot easier.

My plan is to stay in Davao for a couple of weeks staying at a few different AirBnbs like a I did in CDO, also visit Samal Island which I failed to go to before whilst staying at an AirBnB with a clear view of the island, then head further south to unknown territory of Digos and General Santos. The main reason I’m in this vicinity is to visit General Santos which I’ve heard good things about and have been wanting to go for awhile. There's apparently a lot of attractive ladeez in that neck of the woods. Not that I’m going there just for that reason of course.

Arriving in Davao I take a taxi to Poblacion to find a hotel to stay downtown.

The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery. The Philippines is a traveller’s paradise and regularly included in top ten favorite places to visit in Asia and affordable, favorite world holiday destination.

Many foreigners/expats choose the Philippines as the best country to retire in Asia and live in paradise. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in the world with its low cost of living and all year sunshine. Retiring in the Philippines is affordable on a budget of less than $1000 per month.

Filipinos are welcome and warm people. Filipinos are often regarded as the most friendliest nation in Asia and nicest people in the world. English is widely spoken throughout the country. The Philippines is included in the top ten English speaking countries in the world. The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends.
